  1. I own probably every t-shirt and hoodie that they made in the MTM era. No lie. LOL. I collect other album eras too but MTM was when I bought most of my stuff because the designs were so badass and because I love MTM. I can post some pics of stuff I own but it will take a while for me to get it all rounded up. I bought a shit ton from the band, at LP shows, Hot Topic, Spencer's, etc.

Dude, I would love to see some photos. If you ever get the chance please post some.

MTM there is a ton of stuff for. Check eBay and European stores that are licensed for some throwback merch from that era, much of it that you can still buy.

I got a lot of their new MTM merch items... I can't wait for them to arrive. I hope they arrive in time for the NYC album release stuff.

Thanks man, do you have any advice for telling what stores are licensed and what is fake merch?

  2. Kia ora LPLive,

Since the release of the MTM anniversary pieces on the LP store, I have been curious as to what merch they were offering at the time. I was big into LP then but never thought about looking at that kind of thing and would love to see what it was like, esp. compared to more recent album cycle merch.

  3.

I really like Over Again, Watching As I Fall and Nothing Makes Sense Anymore. Place To Start, About You and Running From My Shadow are ''alright'' to me, I don't hate them or love them, they're in the middle. Didn't really like Crossing A Line at all and still don't. I think this new song Ghosts will be in the same category for me as Crossing The Line. I can almost tell just by that preview, just like I could from the original clip of Crossing A Line. It sucks because I thought by the title that the song would be good, but I guess I shouldn't judge songs off of the title. LOL. The album still holds promise to me.

This is so awesome to see because I love Place to Start, Crossing A Line, About You and Running From My Shadow, and I don't often listen to the other three. I genuinely dig the difference in opinion on here.

What is it about the songs you don't like? I like About You because it is so upbeat, really experimental hip hop production, the vocoder outro is gorgeous. grandson's part and the guitar solo in Running From My Shadow get me head banging in my car. Place To Start is heartbreaking, relatable, and beautiful. Crossing A Line feels so upbeat and is such a catchy singalong song.

  4. I am actually pretty shocked at the reception for the track; this is easily my favourite song from Post Traumatic so far! The production is ridiculous in all the best ways, blackbear's verse is very dark R&B which I'm very into, and that outro - LAWDY ME! It was actually pretty sick that Zane Lowe had it looped quietly in the background during the interview.

I don't know why everyone's hitting at the lyrics either. The first two lines seem out of place to the rest of the song but the rest is fluid and hard hitting in my opinion.

The fact that Mike has taken to using the phrase "all the sudden" lately is REALLY fucking disappointing to me.

He's actually just saying "of a" really quickly. He even annotated the lyrics on Genius and it says "all of a sudden".

EDIT: I take this back. After listening to Mike say it in the verse, it's definitely "the" + it says "the" in the YouTube description. I wish you hadn't brought this up, it's gonna bug me now too haha.

I like the song. He is able to do so many different styles of music, this is almost like a trap sound or something. It isn't my favorite but it's cool to see the variety.

The topic of the song is pretty depressing.

This. I feel pretty sorry for Mike that he's now in this situation where Chester's passing is inescapable. I really hope that he doesn't get mentally swamped by all the interviews asking about Chester & Linkin Park, and having to perform the songs on tour. He's created a mourning cycle that he can't escape until the album cycle is over, and if he didn't fully take that into account diving in to this, it could be pretty mentally and emotionally exhausting. Look after yrself Dad.

  5. I would 100% absolutely pay to see Joe do a DJ set. The only thing is, since Joe doesn't have any officially released solo music out and there's nothing that particularly sets him apart from other modern trap DJs - especially now that the scene is saturated following the boom in laptop DJs - I can't imagine his sets selling well unless he was playing small trap clubs.

Also, great video attached! I haven't seen footage from his sets before. It sounds really cohesive and fun.

  6. Cool that there is an LPU presale.

$130 before fees for this, what an absolute joke. Imagine Dragons really must think they are something. I know it's for charity but imagine if LP threw an event like this. LP isn't even that much for a GA ticket for their tour.

Definitely very cool that there is an LPU pre sale. I was literally thinking last night whether Mike will use the LPU at all through the PT promotional period.

To be fair to Dan & Imagine Dragons, they're currently still at their peak with their most recent album having three top 40 hits, and having Sucker For Pain before that. Zedd is still very much a top 40 artist as well with his last three singles being top 40 hits too.

In perspective, the last time LP came to New Zealand was for LIVING THINGS which had one top 40 single here. They played one show that (from memory) didn't sell out and cost more than $130.

I don't listen to Imagine Dragons OR Zedd, but just putting a different perspective on things.

  7. Thank you so much for posting this. I was looking everywhere for the Instagram live video, I missed it and was so bummed. See you in Los Angeles.

    Welcome to LPLive Elizabeth!

What about compared to Minutes to Midnight? I think that's the best mixed album.

I'm with Mark on this one. MTM is easily best mixed.

  8. Warner has created regional online stores, so Aus / NZ had 50 signed prints between the two countries. I had one in my cart, went and had a shower while I was deciding whether to spend all my money for the next week on it, and they were gone by the time I got out. Idiot <_<

Seriously though, the two new songs are incredible. Crossing A Line is so catchy. The visuals feel super personal - I feel like Mike is sharing something personal directly to me. It's really special.

The KROQ interview was good but pretty standard, except for the 60 Seconds at the end which was hilarious!

The designs on the new website are looking very slick too. Does anybody know whether Frank Maddocks is doing the design for the album roll out? The imagery looks similar to the Warner Bros. wall he did, and he did Mike's new promo shots too.

Disappointed that there was a print I missed out on, but the art book will still be nice to have. Where's the vinyl, though, Mike? I missed out on Welcome and no one ever sells it, so I want this on vinyl the moment it drops, if it ever does.

Both songs sound great. The rhythm for Crossing a Line was a little hard to grasp the first time I heard it, but I really like it, probably my third favorite of the five so far. I hope we get hand-shot videos for every song, too, because they're fantastic so far.

I'm so glad that Mike is doing this. This is all going to be great.

The Welcome vinyls are currently in stock on the linkinpark.com store!

  9. His solo project was supposed to be very personal and all the videos were also supposed to be like this. And now we get 'normal' video, looking not that personal like ones for the songs from "Post Traumatic".

    ...

Also I would like to see more "filmed-from-the-hand videos" and not "normal" ones because it also feels more natural. Now it looks like Mike wants to push it more to mainstream and I feel a little bit uncomfortable with it.

The clips we've seen show Mike in the car by himself on the way to see fans near the Roxy, and Mike signing the wall inside the Roxy, and we know there's gonna be footage with the fans outside too.

It's still very personal, it's all very off the cuff. It's not in a studio or pre planned. It's Mike alone with the camera or Mike with the fans. I think that's still really personal. Even watching the clips, I felt like Mike was vulnerable.

Every LP album since MTM was poppy. MTM was alt rock and rock driven. So it’s nothing new. That’s why I said that I expected it since Mike loves pop and has for a while now.

    . . . The Hunting Party?

  10. "THE FESTIVALS, MIKE! ARE YOU GOING TO PLAY THEM?!"

    LEADING OR RE-LEEDS

"Will you be playing Reading or Leeds? Fantastic then."

Hahaha, I watched the LPTV rough cuts for the first time over the weekend and this was fresh in my mind when I saw that Mike had announced the R&L dates.

  11. BTW I don't remember If all of them were different or some of them are the same like the one from iTunes?

After downloading and watching all the links that you've provided, these are definitely the rough cuts.

Thank you so much for them too. I have just gone through and watched all these and they've given me so many smiles and laughs. I can't believe how long ago all this was. I still remember picking up Minutes to Midnight from the local department store on the day it came out and watching all the original final LPTV cuts on YouTube and the behind the scenes from the deluxe MTM book / DVD.

I really do miss the days when we did have limited access to everything so whenever we did get something it was so exciting. LPTV and LPUTV videos were only available on their original platforms and it was so exciting when they were released, it'd be all my mates and I could talk about at school and we'd reference all the shitty jokes for weeks.

  12. I am a bit late on this but wow, I wasn't expecting to see this tbh.

I'm actually surprised by everyone's reactions. It's obviously an early mix, it's a lot lighter / simpler in the synth and drums. For as much as I didn't enjoy Good Goodbye when it first came out, I have since come to enjoy it but didn't really feel that Pusha fitted the track that well. I thought Stormzy's flow and verse on the track come off really nice. This is coming from someone who is a long time Pusha fan as well.

It's certainly interesting to hear, and even more interesting that it got leaked. I don't think we've had any modern era demo leaks at all, have we?
