  1. It is in fact true, the Associated Press does not publish false information. The confirmation comes from the LA county Coroner's office. https://www.apnews.com/26dae09a4c5e4fcca98c2ee9909476bf/Linkin-Park-singer-Chester-Bennington-dies-at-41,-Los-Angeles-County-coroner-says

  3. I actually thought the video was fucking hilarious. Also I'm pretty sure that was the girl from Stranger Things. The video was intentionally made to be satirical and funny, and it definitely feels like it was influenced by Blood Dragon. It has the identical tone. Also Chester's face at the end when the girl starts flying is perfect.
  4. Really dig this song and the album as a whole I think they might have made my new favorite album
  5. I like primo more than the released song, it sounds more like the second half of the album does and more in line with the direction they were moving with ATS
  6. Yes and the point I was trying to make was that they shouldn't listen to their fan base as to what music they should make. They should really just make the music they want to. They will gain new fans that way. Mike even pointed out bands like the Stones and the Who, who are really just riding on classics. He made it clear they do't wanna be like that. He made it clear that music shouldn't be what "fans" want, the fans should follow the band and open their interests up. When you say there are so many genre's to choose from, I ask you this: Why is that a bad thing? It allows bands to explore new areas, gain new fans, and become more versatile. I don't want a band to make music to satisfy me based on what I want from them. I want them to make music that I will be satisfied from or unsatisfied from, because of what they wanted. Does that make sense? I don't want them to make music based off my likes, but rather I want them to introduce me to music so I can expand my likes and dislikes. I want them to make something they can look at and be happy with, I don't want them to look at it and critique it and say, "well will this website, or that blog, or that person like this? No? then how should we change it to fit them?" Because ultimately that hurts music.
  7. I'd like to point out an interesting thing in this article and compare it with some fans on this site. Now you see how Mike is encouraging people to collaborate (which I feel is an excellent thing.) Some bands are doing it others aren't. Then look at the fans who are so, indiscriminately hateful towards anything and anyone other than their band and the nostalgic sound they only want from that band. You who complained about the Aoki collab, also hold this article up as brilliant and you're missing the point. You aren't understanding what he is saying. He is saying that rock can't and in respect to Linkin park isn't going to do the same things. So all the people who hate on every new thing LP does, you better get used to it, because Mike just stated that they are going to keep innovating, keep experimenting, and keep evolving so Rock music doesn't die. I want to provide an answer to Mike's question "Why isn't rock doing this". Because of bitchy fans who whine and complain every time a band makes a change. Granted there are some bands who don't give a shit: Linkin park, Muse, 30 Seconds to Mars, Green Day, Avenged Sevenfold, Fall out Boy, Foo Fighters, Blink-182, etc etc. But at the same time these bands listed are rather Theatrical, and their albums are very almost Cinematic in nature. What I'm trying to say is what I've always said here in response to the bitching. If you don't like it leave, go hide in your corner put your headphones on and pretend its 2000. The rest of us, we will be enjoying the amazing music artists who evolve create. Because music is art.
  8. Why does it matter exactly if they head into an EDM direction? Why does it matter if they head in any direction at all? Music itself is an art form, meaning it is flowing, evolving, changing, and growing. Restricting music to little boxes is useless and stupid. It makes it stale. Instead we have music that is evolving, that is changing, and you know what it's awesome. Without any kind of musical change we would still be listening to classical music, because no one would have taken the chance to branch out. We would never have Elvis, we wouldn't have Led Zeppelin, we wouldn't have The Ramones or The Misfits, we wouldn't have Metallica, we wouldn't have D12 or Tupac, we wouldn't have Tiesto, we wouldn't have Linkin Park. You know why because if someone hadn't made the conscious decision to make a change, made that conscious decision to try something new we'd be stuck./rant I personally appreciate musical growth and evolution. I think it does an artist good, because it shows what they are doing right now, what they are thinking, etc. The same way you can glean information about a painter from their paintings, you can glean a little bit about an artist from the music they are making. Now, you can all quit your bitching and appreciate that they are actually making more music that is different, or go sit in a corner and complain about how an artist isn't making music that you specifically like. Personally I feel you'd have more success in the first endeavor, because guess what an artist doesn't give a shit about what kind of music you like. They care about what music they like, and what makes them happy. If you happen to like it good, if not well you're shit out of luck then.
  9. You can hear the effects more prominently on Chester
  10. There's an effect going on with Chester's voice. I think they have a slight auto-tune for it. But everyone else blended so well
  11. Personally I'd rather something other than Nu-Metal....since that genre is dead and people need to stop beating a dead horse.
  12. Yeah they really shouldn't have put the Faint outro in there at the beginning. Mike definitely is a much better guitarist and probably on a jam as well
  13. HT also has the most selling rock album of the decade....anything doesn't sell well next that. They've also been out for between 8-10 years.... While ATS has only been out like 2. MTM on the other hand has the Highest first week sales of the year when it was released with 625,000 albums. Worldwide it has sold over 8 million copies. Meteora has sold over 11 million worldwide HT has sold over 24 million worldwide. quick off-topic rant. The next time someone says LP has sold out, give these stats. With those amounts LP has not sold-out they have done the opposite. Selling out entails having extremely high sales.....they haven't. /rant but yeah HT sold Fucktons, Meteora sold Shittons, and MTM sold Shittons. ATS hasn't been out long enough to sell that amount, and it's an album that probably wouldn't sell well, due to the lack of very generic songs for singles.
  14. ATS released at number 1 on Billboard 100, Alternative, and Rock albums. (Billboard as source) In the first week of release it sold 241,000 copies (Billboard as source) Since it's release it has sold 845,000 copies in the US and 1,700,000 worldwide and the RIAA has certified it Gold. Source - Rolling Stone Magazine ATS sold amazingly, its just some people hate it, and others like it. I personally love it. But to say it didn't sell well is just blatantly wrong.
  15. The Catalyst, New Divide, Bleed It Out, Shadow of the Day.
  16. Try actually listening to it with the headphone trick if you wanna hear some interesting layering and things you wouldnt expect to be on the album like an organ, full horns, Owen Pallet's strings, some crazy guitar, interesting vocal melodies/harmonies, the clear piano, other strings on other songs, really cool sound effects,....etc etc....listen and be amazed what they have done.
  17. Or any local Alternative rock station outside KROQ. Seriously everyone seems to say they hate LP, but it seems like a very very very small percentage do or else they wouldn't sell that many records....especially since their competition was Maroon 5....a much much much more popular band Someone on their commented "They used to be innovative, now they just suck". *sigh* people are stupid
  18. it's the same drums....there is just effects on it lol
  19. Well....isn't Justin Timberlake trying to turn Myspace into strictly music now.....which it's been for the last ohhh what 5-7 years? lol. But I can see why. Though we don't use it....for some reason bands still do....
  20. Actually yeah.....they are in the background providing almost a harmony to everything. In the choruses' and in the instrumental bridge.
