  1. Thrash hits recently put this post up on twitter: Do people care about gossip about the new albums from Linkin Park or Green Day? We've been eavesdropping again. I'm assuming that given a couple of hours there will be some form of article up on their website here by the end of the day. Here's hoping! EDIT: Since posting that on twitter (it was also linked to their facebook) some comments have been posted on their status and they gave some interesting replies: If what we heard is to be believed, Linkin Park have finished recording now, and have actually moved away from the electronic stuff on this new one. Personally, I don't believe this to be true due to what Rob said in the chat on Monday, however maybe they have finalised the songs they plan to perfect for the album? Also after a bit more discussion they then posted this: While the record business in 2012 is a very different beast now to what it was back in 2000, we're sure the difference in sales figures/musical style between LP's earlier/later material might've played "some" part in their decision-making process. This part sounds like they're echoing what was said in Kerrang last week/week before so could be interesting - as to how much credibility is behind their source I don't know but I suppose it adds to the speculation What does everyone think?
  2. When did they ever mention the album would be out before this interview...never. Rick Rubin said they were much further on in the process, he never gave a release date, I'm intrigued as to where you think they said this. Though of course I may just have not as paid as much attention to news over the past few months :/
  3. I'll be honest I like both bands and if it wasn't for My Way by Limp Bizkit I would probably have never found Linkin Park ha! How times change! Anyway as silly as this topic is I just saw another tweet by Lethal about a track LB did with Jay-Z called Rebel but it never got released 'cause Jay wanted too much money - slight coincidence that these tracks don't get released for one money issue or another :/
  4. Or even the ATS cycle haha MTM setlists were better
  5. A video was released for Not Alone...you doze off for that one? Lol it's still on lp.com I think
  6. Not gonna bitch about the set but are you sure they've played a greater number of different songs on this touring cycle than they did on the MTM touring cycle? You sure you're taking into account the actual variation of songs and not just the fact they have 15 more songs to toy with, 14 of which have been played. I'm convinced MTM has far more variation just between summer 07 and winter 08 never mind the summer 08 tour as well.
  7. At least they changed something! hoping for more change, however other older songs that you refer to barring points, pma and sib are sitting on 5 years no live experience - here's hoping!
  8. @Geki fair play I'm on my phone - no translator sounds a bit strange if I'm honest not overly excited but willing to be proved wrong when it's shown online
  9. How can you say it looks fucking awesome when it's all in Japanese? Lol! I'm intrigued to find out what it is as it sounds like some sort of museum exhibition from the brief description that I could read - anyone got a translator?
  10. Honestly I'm not one to generally pull the money card but I spent £100 last year to see them and then £180 on Download this year obviously that wasn't all for LP but a significant chunk was and then £25 for iTunes festival. So say £175 on LP and I've only seen 28 different songs, then take into consideration that every non-ATS song I've seen 2/3 times before you see why I'm a little frustrated? And I understanmd you being confused at my comment on additions but it was the fact that if they add something special it won't end up being anything that good anyway :/
  11. The problem with LP since 2009 is that they've become too predictable and they're too comfortable like that to want to change anything. They can't use the bullshit excuse to 'just play singles cause not everyone knows who we are/is into us, we've only been around ten years and are the biggest selling rock band of the 21st century, but hey they won't know who we are.' I hate bitching about them as they are my favourite band but I'm already pretty sure I'll not bother with the next touring cycle because I dont wan't to see the same songs once again and no doubt the price will be £50+ and god knows what in the US and it's just too much to see the same main backbone of a setlist you saw last time round it's kinda disrespectful in a way :/ Anyway back on point ideal show for older songs that got them where they are today or indeed ATS in full but I don't think that will ever happen now - they've had ample time to prepare and haven't done so not getting my hopes up. But seriously everyone going deserves something special for that effort and I guess if you're you may get issho ni or not alone but to be honest I would hate to see either live :/
  12. Would be great if they remain like this in the future! Was a really great read just a shame that blackout seems to be well liked by the band but doesn't get played! Everything this year is great now that the whole few month period of very little actually happening despite the much greater price! Now we just need a quarterly magazine and we're rolling like 'Tallica Thanks again Adam I know it's not just you behind the scenes but you're the public face and LPU seems to have upped its game massively
  13. Are you sure about the sampled vocals on WTCFM I tend to find he can be slightly off key with his aahs and I haven't heard anything underneath that :/
  14. Well I went to Download and iTunes and it was hard to pick if I'm honest. Download was much more hard hitting and finished on OSC - always winning!! But it did lack an encore and it would have been nice to have 2 or 3 extra songs. iTunes was awesome with being a small venue and it being so cool as well as finally seeing BITS though disappointed not to see Blackout which is probably my favourite song from ATS and considering I've seen them four times on this cycle (2 this summer, 2 last November) I kinda hoped I'd have seen the whole album - not necessarily top to bottom but through four different shows I had hoped to see it. Also would have liked to see the messenger but still haven't seen that either - here's hoping to some non-singles on future tours! Back to iTunes was great but encore was a little slow though Adele cover was insanely good!! Edit: Also not entirely related but I noticed Mark was saying the other day that gang vocals on iridescent were mimed - but I just downloaded the LPUX newsletter and Rob specifically mentions it and says that 4/6 sing on stage (Chester, Mike, Phx and Joe) now I have to say it does sound a lot like the album version but I don't think Rob would say it if they didn't?
  15. Yeah Dylan tried starting it twice I think whilst Chester was talking haha though I noticed he doesn't get much time to say stuff before the next song starts though that's the first I've ever heard him interrupted like that.
  16. Is it uncensored then or is it just in right place? Also anyone any chance of ripping this we no longer have the silly version
  17. Fair dos at least he gave a decent reason rather than just saying no
  18. Did you end up asking about faint or not? I know phil asked for RME but Mike said they probs wouldn't have time due to performing Rolling in the Deep
  19. Definitely will! And I'd seen you earlier but you disappeared and then I thought I recognised you and was trying to see your arm to confirm it but I couldn't so I thought fuck it I'll just say hello and risk it!
  20. Interesting to note that the setlist says V2 - would love to know what was on V1! Also Sam how much stuff did you get signed!? I'm amazed they allowed that magazine poster as well as HT insert
  21. Christ on a bike that took some reading hah! Show was awesome even though quite a bit of it was similar to download. Crowd were awesome which surprised as majority of people had just applied through the itunes website and not the auction Was great to see BITS live finally in UK - really enjoyed it! Have to say sometimes the mics were quiet when talking in between songs and sometimes in the songs as well - neon trees were louder which was a little gutting but in the main it wasn't much of a problem but would have been nice to get the usual indoor volume which pumps in your chest! The cover was amazing and everyone seemed to really enjoy it though going into wj&l and iridescent did kill it a bit for people around me though I was screaming my lungs out was amazed they were allowed to perform wj&l with the problems they had on dsps! Oh that reminds mike got some guy at side stage to stop wj&l as obviously he interrupted chester which was amusing but I always thought it was joe that controlled the backing tracks? Only thing I will say is I was gutted blackout wasn't played but I did tweet before the show saying they hadn't soundchecked the electric pads that chester uses for that and w&k so I expected it wouldn't be played! Would have just had the extra bit to the encore and would have been nice to see it in UK - hopefully it will make an appearance in next albums touring cycle or bring w&k back at least! However on the whole I will stand by what I said last night when I say of the 7 times I've seen them that may well have been the best!
  22. I highly doubt there'll be a separate section at the front for m&g-ers the venue only holds 3000 that's kind of the amount of people a front section usually holds :/
  23. Yeah I've got the email now thankfully still excited about the supposed surprise!
  24. Exactly but even with doys/lfy and 99p/poa/osc still would be like yeah this is cool but overdone now :/
  25. Apparently jay is still in london - but I've seen it live before and not really bothered about seeing it again :/
