  1. the review of waiting for the end is missing(if i read it well) thats the epic shit

Agreed, I love that song. :) But this is a great review. I've just put the album on my iPod and have been listening to it all day. It's amazing! I absolutely love it! I think Chester's done much better vocals on this album alone, let alone his carrer then W&K. I can't wait till Tuesday to see them perform some of these live!!!

  2. so i'm thinking right now we're definitley going to be seeing WFTE, Iridescent, and TC live. because those are the songs they played at the special KROQ show, meaning they've practiced it. and mike is excited about WaK so i bet they will play that.

    SO EXCITED.

    5 DAYS!

:D I hope so!!!! I LOVE Waiting for the End!!!! :D It's SO CLOSE!!!!

  3. A bit off topic but I just heard a bit of the Catalyst during the TB/BOS game (baseball) on ESPN. However the music was backing stats about CC Sabathia. :D GO YANKEES!!

    lol couldn't help myself.

On topic, I agree with everyone saying that Requiem and Radiance need to be merged as one track. In face a few of these should really just be intros.

  4. Yes, that's right, for all the people who gasped at the concept or didn't have it register the first time I said it: I believe A Thousand Suns is a better album than Hybrid Theory.

I lol'ed so hard when I read that! :) (though Meteora will always be my baby)

However I think we're all getting too "protective" of LP. Shocking as it is people will NOT like this album. A good portion of fans fell in love with the HT/Meteora sound. THAT's the kind of music they like. I think, just like with MTM, LP will lose fans with this, but gain much more. Still I don't think you can really critize the people who are disappointed, that much. The band has said that they gave out mixed reviews of what they thought this album would sound like. I even think Chester mentioned it at the LA laser show last night.

So yes saying it sucks isn't really a good reason, but explaining yourself for why you don't care for the album shouldn't get you flamed.

Personally, I've only heard up to Blackout, but I like it so far. Wouldn't go as far as Astat, but it's been a "good" album. Waiting For the End is the only song that's really blown me away, but I need to get the album and relisten a few times before I can give a proper review.

I also find it funny When They Come For You is either a LOVE or HATE song. When I first heard it I couldn't get past Monkey Mike, but Chester saved that song for me. I wish they hadn't screwed with his voice so much. Chester is from the rare breed that has a true singing voice that doesn't need to be "fixed" with computers. And I'll go with the majority of nay-sayers who want more tradional guitar because I prefer rock music compared to electronic. I'm not saying that the songs "suck" without it, but I don't like the heavy electronic influence (especially on Blackout) personally.

Still I think LP did a really good job with this album (what I've heard anyways).

  5. Link please (I'm a drummer and I love following everything Rob does).

Dunno if you got the link yet.

I don't remember which part it was in. But the whole thing is pretty good to watch. (Though I think it was part 2)

I have no idea how they'll do it, but I have faith they'll figure out most of the songs.

  6. So Warner ruined things for me (take that as you will). But I heard up to Blackout.

I was super impressed with the album so far. The clips were choosen by a moron. There were better parts to choose. Whatever.

The only two songs that kinda made me pause were Burning in the Skies and When They Come For Me. BITS (lol didn't notice till I typed it) was too close to In Between for Mike's vocals to me. I need to relisten to it whenever I get my ditigal copy. (speaking of which do you guys know when we get it?) WTCFM was different. Mike's lyrics had me loling too much to really get the song. (mental image of Monkey Mike) and I need to relisten later, but Chester, wow.

In fact Chester REALLY impressed me on this album (what I've heard). He sounds vocally better then ever! My favorite song by far was Waiting For the End. AMAZING!!! Chester...wow just wow.

Blackout really surprised me. I didn't expect the ending at all. I wish they would have just kept Chester's hard vocals without the electronic sound. It was too...happy to go with Blackout. Despite that I really liked it!

Though from what I heard I have NO IDEA how they're doing this live. Poor Brad will just be chilling during the ATS songs. lol. Joe however will be super busy. I can't wait to see what songs they do at NYC! (7 days baby!!!)

    Also great review by Lauscho.

  7. I actually think that synth is not needed and is out of place lol. And that breakdown of Blackout is noise, not music... jk...but really...

I totally agree! I think this song would be better without the electronic influence, but once again can't really judge after 30secs.

Another about the album is that everyone said that ATS would be way more Mike centric then Chester, but the previews are Chester filled(not that I like Mike being more involved, but these clips don't reflect the reviews). So I don't think we can really judge the album until we've heard the whole thing, like its supposed to be heard.

  8. I lol'ed so hard at Robot Boy. I guess its because its NOTHING like I thought it would be.

Most looking forward to BLACKOUT!!!, Waiting For the End, Iridescent (though I wish it was just Chester, Mike makes it worse to me), and Messenger.

Really don't like Mike in Burning in the Skies. :S And I'm a bit nervous about the rest of the songs, but I'm not judging until I hear the whole album.

“There’s a time when the operation of the machine becomes so odious, makes you so sick at heart, that you can’t take part; you can’t even passively take part, and you’ve got to put your bodies upon the gears and upon the wheels, upon the levers, upon all the apparatus, and you’ve got to make it stop. And you’ve got to indicate to the people who run it, to the people who own it, that unless you’re free, the machine will be prevented from working at all” -Mario Savio

To save face / how low can you go

Talk a lot of game but yet you don’t know

Static on the way / make us all say whoa

The people up top push the people down low

    Get down

    And obey every word

Steady getting mine if you haven’t yet heard

Wanna take what I got / don’t be absurd

Don’t fight the power / nobody gets hurt

If you haven’t heard yet then I’m letting you know

There ain’t shit we don’t run when the guns unload

And no one make a move unless my people say so

    Got everything outta control

    Now everybody go

    Steel unload / final blow

    We the animals take control

Hear us now / clear and true

Wretches and kings we come for you

So keep pace / how slow can you go

Talk a lot of shit and yet you don’t know

Fire on the way / make you all say whoa

The people up top and the people down low

    Get down

And I’m running it like that

The front of the attack is exactly where I’m at

Somewhere in between the kick and the hi hat

    The pen and the contract

    The pitch and the contact

So get with the combat / I’m letting ‘em know

There ain’t shit you can say to make me back down no

So / push the button let the whole thing blow

    Spinning everything outta control

    Now everybody go

    Steel unload / final blow

    We the animals take control

Hear us now / clear and true

Wretches and kings we come for you

    Steel unload / fire blow

Filthy animals / beat them low

Skin and bone / black and blue

No more this sun shall beat onto you

From the front to the back and the side to side

If you fear what I feel put ‘em up real high
