In a move that has caught seemingly everyone from the Linkin Park fanbase to the Stone Temple Pilot fanbase to music fans in general off guard, Chester joined the Stone Temple Pilots on stage at the 2013 KROQ Weenie Roast in Irvine, CA as the lead singer for the band. The band was the "surprise guest" of the show, similar to what Foo Fighters did to Linkin Park in 2011 at the show - showing up and playing unannounced as a surprise. A timed release of a brand new song "Out Of Time" to KROQ followed the performance, with STP issuing a press release and Chester even confirming that he hasn't left Linkin Park. KROQ.com adds: "If seeing is believing, the audience at Weenie Roast 2013 definitely left as believers in the power of music. The unbelievable magic of the night was doubly-amplified after all the amazing sets earlier when sonic swamis of alt-stadium rock, Stone Temple Pilots, brought Chester Bennington from Linkin Park out as a featured vocalist." If it does turn out to be Maroon 5, I'll be jealous of their fans. They're touring the U.S. right now until May, and then they'd be coming back again 2 months later around August. That's a lot of shows.

Every photo has been from last year's tour. If the pictures don't matter, why are they going out of their way to pick blurry ones or edit them themselves?

They apparently made more money last year than any previous HCT. This tells them that Linkin Park fans will come see the band perform, even if the ticket prices are kind of outrageous. It's not like someone who isn't a fan of LP is going to never go to another HCT again just because they had LP two years in a row. When a band that person likes becomes headliner, they'll go.

Gotta be them. Better start saving now, those tickets got real pricey last year.

Just checked some video, and the lighting from the picture is the same lighting Linkin Park used during With You when it opened the show in Bristow. So I think we can all agree that it's a picture of Brad.

I am guardedly optimistic about this, but wouldn't it completely fly in the face of everything Linkin Park has said up to this point? Or maybe taking a month/month and a half doesn't change their schedule too much.

I wasn't sure how to answer the "What are your favorite bands that you would like to see tour with Linkin Park" question. It's like two separate questions. Because as much as I'd love it, I don't think it's realistic to expect the Linkin Park/Arcade Fire/Nine Inch Nails/Massive Attack tour to happen any time soon. So I picked some of my favorite smaller bands. But yeah, it's cool that they're doing this/have done this. The results could potentially tell you a lot of interesting facts about the fan base that you might not pick up on otherwise.
