Meteora (20th Anniversary Edition) | Out April 7, 2023
LPLStaff replied to BeardyWilderness's topic in Newswire
I don't think "a lot" of people are having trouble liking "Lost" - it's one of their best unreleased songs they've ever put out. It's up there with "No Roads Left" and "Across the Line" in terms of songs not making the album. "More the Victim" may end up being in this list too, let's see what the lossless stereo mix of it sounds like. "Fighting Myself" is pretty good. Brad said he personally wanted it mixed from Manny for this release. -
Maybe Wesside and Resolution are instrumentals since they are last on the tracklist. And Massive + A6 also have vocals. Not too surprising about Germany - they have done exclusive things there before... Berlin got a club show in 2012 as an exclusive intimate performance, there was a THP exclusive exhibit or store (forgot which it was) there in fall 2014, they filmed the Samsung 2014 show in Berlin, etc.

Updated the thread. Thanks martinez. Need to make you a mod so you can quickly edit stuff. The Numb clip isn't from Numb, there is no making of footage for that song that we know of, at least that has been released publicly. They didn't need to label it that, honestly/

As the Meteora 20 release gets closer, please feel free to submit news in here for us to create a thread with, or create a thread yourself.
-
They'll ship it there, they shipped one to me in the US but they didn't email us and offer it to the US fans as far as I can tell.
-
You can really tell Lost has a modern mix when you listen to Fighting Myself go into it, because the FM guitars are just bludgeoning heavy haha. The Lost 2002 mix will be cool to hear.
-
They excluded US fans from it. It was international only. In fact the first one was UK/EU only and I thought that's what the second one was too until some fans in Mexico and South America mentioned it.
-
Oops, good catch. Will fix that. So many platforms lol
-
But Phoenix is actually involved in things lol, if they are writing music, he is a part of it so it's definitely happening. The band has said multiple times since 2019 they are writing music - who knows what it's for, it could be for them personally or it turns into a release one day. There's no doubt there is music happening; Mike's comment is referring to they have no music lined up for release, no album planned, and no tour happening.

Pretty set on "holy grail" items personally now with all of the following being released: Pictureboard, She Couldn't (officially, in good quality), Stick N Move (LP), Rob's Drum Song (Healing Foot), Thoughts That Take Away My Pride (Lost), two completely unknown songs Fighting Myself and More The Victim... with more insanity coming on Meteora 20, and then all of the shows, but especially that My December and My Own Summer from 2002. Those are massive items for the community. All I'd really like to hear now after this is No Roads Left with Chester from MTM, and/or a No Roads Left rehearsal from Third Encore. That's really it. Anything else they give us is just great, like Friendly Fire, etc.

Linkin Park has released "Healing Foot", a track on Meteora|20, to fans participating in the Germany-exclusive game to collect all of the Linkin Park marbles across multiple locations. The song, which has no actual musical relation to "Broken Foot" besides the name, likely refers to the time period in which Brad Delson had a broken foot in late 2001 and early 2002. This was well into the writing sessions for the Meteora material. Right now, the song is streaming in the Marbles app for German fans. Fans were surprised, and excited, to hear that "Healing Foot" is the fan-titled "Rob Drum Song" from the Making of Meteora DVD. From just the first piano notes in the song, it is a recognizable as the track and follows Mike Shinoda's commentary on TikTok Live recently that the song would be included on Meteora|20 when he answered a question from Derek of LP Association with a link to Rob playing the track at NRG Studios. Perhaps the biggest surprise with the song is that it has full vocals by both Mike and Chester. The song features strings (likely sampled), the looping piano part, and more throughout its 3 and a half minutes. It is likely many of us thought the track would be an instrumental, especially judging by how many LPU CDs have instrumentals, so the vocals were a complete shock. What a cool track! In the "thank you" message to fans with "Healing Foot", Mike Shinoda said: "Hey, it's Mike You've done it! You've found all of the marbles. As a thank you, we wanted to give you the chance to listent to one of the "Lost Demos" from the Meteora 20th anniversary release before it comes out on April 7th, so here we go. This one is a highly anticipated track that was identified as the fan community years ago because it was in the Making Of content for Meteora and all the fans said, "Wait a minute, that's a track that is not on the album, what is that? Rob's playing drums on this thing we haven't heard." The demo never got an official name, it just had a demo name which was "Healing Foot" so you are in the rare and exclusive group that get to hear it - so here you go, "Healing Foot"!" What do you think about "Healing Foot"? Phoenix sat down with Audacy to discuss Meteora|20, Linkin Park, and more for the upcoming box set release. He touched on topics like "Krwlng" from Reanimation, the clothes he wore at the time of the Meteora era, and more. One highlight of the interview was Phoenix addressing the future of Linkin Park and what he would like to see them do, saying: "I think the elephant in the room is the band. "Are you guys going to do anything?" The shortest answer is, I think at some point we'll do... I want to do... shows, but the reality of that is I have no idea how or when that happens, like still. So, it's not a great answer, but it's the most honest one I can have as far as that goes. But I still love music and I still love playing." He added, "I don't know, I don't think we're done as a band. I don't think we've said everything that we want to say, and the last bits of what we want to do. I think there's something on the horizon but I can't give you a timeline or timetable." Check out the full interview here.

In a move that fans were hoping would happen, Linkin Park has uploaded 4K versions of all of the Meteora music videos. These are pretty significant upgrades and provide in-depth details in the videos with improved coloring and more. You can watch all of the videos on Linkin Park's YouTube channel. Upgraded videos include Somewhere I Belong, Faint, From the Inside, Numb, and Breaking the Habit. The music video for Numb will reach 2 billion views very shortly as well!

On March 24, 2023, exactly 20 years after the original release of Meteora, Linkin Park released "Fighting Myself" from the Meteora 20 box set for fans. Originally premiered on Howard Stern in February by Mike Shinoda, the song was not released until March 24, likely due to the massive success of the first single "Lost." When discussing the song, Mike said that he had to build a chorus and the bridge/ending vocals himself from parts that Chester had recorded, but were not in the latest version of the song that existed - they were just in the multitracks. "I thought all we had was a demo and me rapping verse one and verse two and that was it, but Ryan from management found a version where Chester was singing and then we found the session of that song and I went into the multitracks and found different chorus ideas. It went from a rough sketch to a finished chorus, so now we have a full song with vocals. I remember writing it and working on it but it didn't make the cut so we just stopped working on it, so now I found the sessions for it." "Fighting Myself" is out now and features signature Mike Shinoda rapping along with a unique bridge/ending to the song and more. What do you think of the song?

Meteora (20th Anniversary Edition) | Out April 7, 2023

We'll get to Linkinpedia. Have been out of the country for a week getting married. -
Would not be surprised to see the songs, or a song, released next week or the week after for the promo. Lost is just doing so great that it doesn't make sense to drop another song this week, but let's see how it goes over the middle weeks of March. Lost is topping charts still.
-
He said the short version of And One has a studio recording? The version LP played live? And is it confirmed Harmonic Song is Pushing Me Away?
-
Uploaded by mistake for sure.
-
No. This is something that has never been released.
-
LPU chat in 2003. We'll see if it's on the box set. Box set will answer a lot of questions. A6 question, which song is Rob's drum track, which other songs had actual drums on them (meaning they were one of the 18 they did drums for), etc. The demos of the album songs will be fantastic. Really looking forward to it.
-
But then why does Brad say it's in A6 if it was just a joke? lol

For the Meteora|20 promotion, Linkin Park has uploaded both series of LPTVs dealing with Meteora to their YouTube. Season 1 of recording Meteora is available in an upgraded quality for the first time ever, and Season 2, which was originally released digitally in 2007, is now available officially from the band for the first time on YouTube.
-
Mike also has another song he produced for someone else coming out shortly too. Wow.
-
Hopefully so. There is a month and a half to go before the release, so another band reacts video would be awesome. Rock am Ring is a great show to do it for, but something like KROQ Acoustic Christmas or anything else that we haven't seen would be nice too. Even a Meteora arena tour show, or the LPU Tour Detroit show.
-
Wouldn't be surprising but would be funny. Lost is pretty perfect the way it is so now after listening to it for weeks, they probably got it right with not including the TTTAMP lyrics on the bridge. The bridge in the song is awesome.
