LP9 - From Zero 2 or unknown roads?

Yeah, I never said LP 2.0 sounds like Paramore, but UFTB does -

Saying I don't like A SONG by LP deoesn't mean I don't like LP, I said it REMINDS me of something else. "The song is 100% LP" yeah because it sounds exactly like HT,M, MTM or ATS, just sayin', right ? People throwing shit at OML 8 years ago as if it was dogshit was OK, now if you don't like a song "you don't like LP"... come on -

To me it's like Post Traumatic meets 2010s Paramore, and that's not something I enjoy. -

Yikes, I strongly hope UFTB doesn't represent the future of the band... one of my least fav songs by them ever -
MTM20th box set in 2027???? Yes or No ????
Soeffingnaive92 replied to thigolpbr's topic in Everything Linkin Park
About the other albums after ATS, i don’t see them going out with big box sets for them, they are very far and away and didn’t have the pop culture impact of the first 3, like, can you picture THP20 box set in 2034 ? Hmmm lol -

A huge boxset in the style of M20 or HT20 ? Hmmm no, there's a new phase and would be kinda weird seeing how things are going in the band right now to "overshadow" Emily with a Chester - era big release. A celebration of MTM with maybe some unreleased stuff but on a smaller scale ? Maybe, I hope so. The band and the label know how beloved a nd crazy big MTM was, so... I try not to be too optimistic tho -
If we are getting MTM20 I think it's gonna be a very low profile release, I don't think they are gonna put out stuff with unreleased Chester vocals in a periodo of time where they will most likely be close to put out LP9 with Emily

Inside the Studio for "Good Things Go" [LPTV FROM ZERO: Episode 33]

Yeah like, we are talking about 6 years of work (2019-2024), in the same amount of time the band put out LT (Recharged), THP and OML -

They are probably sittingon thousands of demos, some with other singers we'll never get to hear. -
The Andy Wallace Interviews, Talks About LINKIN PARK and more.

I think that they're not gonna play it ever again, first and foremost because band members were vocal about not liking it that much, and second because it's really a deep cut that belongs to the "Chester" side of their discograpy, where the lyrics were so personal about abuse and trauma, one of their darker songs -
This tour was the biggest missed opportunity to see my 2 fav bands collab, Jared coming in on a LP song or vice versa (Chester on The Kill ?) would have been sort of a dream come true. Kinda sad it did not happen
-
There’s no blame in my words, i just find it weird on a persona level, I never said that I want them to mention Chester at every show or dedicate a song to him every night. As I said, I totally understand what Mike said about the song OML, and I totally agree with him. I also wouldn’t want a celebration at every show via a song or a long “part” dedicated to him. TO ME it feels just weird that in the whole tour he was mentioned ONCE and seems that Mike wants to point out that an ambiguous song is absolutely not about him even vaguely. That’s all
-
There's no blame on the band, just notice that done this way feels a bit dry, like, imagine just Mike go "This was Chester's fav song so make some noise for him" before Papercut, that would be nice without being "too much".
-
That’s what I am trying to say, there’s a wide spectrum of stuff that stands between the two opposites of not mentioning Chester even once briefly and the other side of playing OML every night with a giant picture of him in the back.
-
I mean if your iconic singer for 20+ years dies by suicide it's kind of expected. I get the feeling he expressed on stuff like About You and other songs but it's kinda weird that Chester almost became a taboo. I repeat that, I didn't expect or even want a song about him on a new LP record, but if a song COULD be a sort of homage to him without being too direct why not? Why going "no it's not and the numbers on the song are not connected to his birthday", it's not disrespectful, I'd never say that, just bizarre
-
Doesn't need to be like that, nobody would ask about stuff off FZ since there's clearly no nod to Chester and that's super fine, starting over and not get stuck in the past grief after 7/8 years, but we are talking about letting the door open to an interpretation about just 1 song.
-
As a lawyer myself too, I get that there could be legal issues about mentioning him on a song or using his name or his vocals on new stuff, but it feels kinda weird that they push back every single reference about him. And I totally get that even if it was legally possible they wouldn't want to put on a new record like FZ a song like LFAA, totally understandable, but Mike responding something like "LYF is about not letting our loved ones fade away and keeping them always with us, it's dedicated to the memory of all our loved ones that are not here anymore" would have been more kind.
-
Mike always pointing out tha something is not dedicated/related to Chester feels a bit weird to me. Nothing against it, I have a lot of respect for Mike and the band and what they did to celebrate Chester, classy and well thought... But this urgency to push back any connection to Chester is a bit strange IMO. By the way, totally agree/understand about not playing OML now

Emily's abuse of letting the crowd sing
Soeffingnaive92 replied to JZLP-Benningstrong's topic in Live Talk
As someone who is not that big on the LP 2.0, especially live, I don't think it's a big issue, on the classic songs Chester used to do that a lot too, as someone already pointed out, on stuff like Crawling or the bridge of Numb and ITE. And yeah WTF was wrong with the shortened songs in THP tour ? Ykes -

Totally agree, as much as I like ALTNC it’s was pretty bad live -

Crazy that they did 3 tours after LT release and they NEVER performed IBG, RU, STB, UIB and Powerless, HALF of the album -
The more I listen to the song the more I like it, it’s the exact example of what I wanted personally from LP comeback, it’s familiar without sounding like a 2.0 version copy pasted of an old song, but on the other hand doesn’t sound like a different band (I am the one really disliking the Paramore vibes of UFTB and the Rihanna - like chorus of Stained). This one FEELS like LP channeling their old stuff in new directions like TEM and Overflow. Not a top tier track but pretty good, like a 7/10.
