There has only been a 5 song review from people and we have all heard GATS. There is still half of the album that we have no clue about. I'm sure there will be some screaming on this album. Maybe even more than any other LP album before, it wouldn't take much, considering most LP albums only have about 3 or 4 songs max with screaming parts. Chester recently said that The Hunting Party is the heaviest album they have ever released and ''The Hunting Party makes Hybrid Theory look like an Iron & Wine record'' so I'm pretty sure there will be some ultra heavy stuff.

If anyone has been listening to LP all these years for the lyrics, you're listening to LP for the wrong reason. Lol. LP has never had exceptionally amazing lyrics, and honestly, who cares. Melodies over lyrics. Mike actually writes a majority of the lyrics when it comes to LP songs, actually.
-
Hybrid Theory doesn't have screaming compared to what Chester did on tracks like Qwerty, Given Up, No More Sorrow, Victimized, Blackout, Faint, From The Inside, etc. It's a different kind of screaming, I agree that it's more like yelling. I also never considered HT to be their heaviest album, I don't know who would. Meteora is by far their heaviest album, way more heavier than HT. And honestly, Given Up is probably the heaviest track they have ever done that we have heard yet. I think the ''heavy'' shit on THP will be more like HT, I don't think it will have a lot of screaming, which blows ass.
-
Highly doubt he said that. Probably just the extremely overwhelming hate of the album that many LP fans seem to have, even though the album went Gold and debuted at #1 in the charts. How did it get there, then?
-
His screaming is different than any other vocalist I have ever heard, which is why I love it so much. They don't use it enough. I honestly don't think it will play any sort of role in this album at all, which seriously sucks.
-
There might not be any. LP would never go full out heavy with screaming AND heavy music, it has to be one or the other. Having both would definitely alienate a lot of fans because they would bitch that it's too heavy, etc.
-
LP should have waited until this month and put out the first single, ''Until It's Gone'', along with all this press and album promotion we got in the past few days. They could have saved GATS for the album and I bet we all would have blown up knowing a track with Rakim would be on the album. A mid tempo rocker with a catchy chorus would probably get a lot of people excited and that might help LP debut at #1.

That is reassuring, thank you. It's true, some LP songs have screaming, but not too much. 1 song from each album stands out the most. HT: By Myself (MYSELF!!!) Meteora: From The Inside (I won't waste myself on you) MTM: Given Up (Put me out of my misery) ATS: Blackout (Chorus) LT: VICTIMIZED (Chorus)

I am super hyped from all the new track summaries today, but I am a bit worried, but for different reasons. I can do without the electronic stuff being the forefront of the music, I am fine with the guitar and drums taking the prominent role in the music. However, Chester's screaming was one of the big main reasons that I fell in love with Linkin Park as much as I did. I know that it sounds dumb because he doesn't scream that much on their albums. Hybrid Theory had some screaming, but not that much. Meteora had a lot, which was released in 2003 and that was when I fell in love with LP. MTM had the screaming section of GU which was my favorite thing ever and it had the screaming during BIO and NMS as well. ATS had Blackout which was epic. LT had LITE, LGM and Victimized, all great. I hope that the screaming doesn't disappear on this album. I think that if there was a screaming part, it would have been noted by the reviewers for those 6 tracks. Maybe the other half of the album will have some, who knows. Even just one or two tracks would keep me happy. The screams in GATS weren't really what I meant and I hope that it's not like that the whole album.

WOW. Awesome feature. I am really pumped up now... Keys To The Kingdom sounds just plain epic, even though that is a very strange description of the song. Rebellion with Daron sounds pretty awesome too, if he is doing guitar work on the song, that is going to be so dope.

Is there any info on this? It looks like some form of a photoshoot that they were doing. Are the photos somewhere and does anyone have any idea when this was? It looks recent, maybe.

Maybe the original Morning After demo?!? That's be sick. Or it could be a HQ live version of it from the DBS tour. Very interesting.
-
Morning After from Underworld & Morning After from Out Of Ashes. It was always mislabeled ''Julien-K Remix'' but that is never what it was. I have the physical CD. It just says Chester Bennington VS Julien-K as the artist. At the time, the band wasn't called Snow White Tan or Dead By Sunrise, it was called Chester Bennington. Chester explains all this here http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rRTE5ZZcVGw. He also talked about it in the LPU Chat from December 2005, he said there are two versions of Morning After, one rocks harder and one parties harder. As far as System goes, Jonathan Davis wrote the song and Chester did the vocals for it. Here it says . I think the song for the La Bare soundtrack might be something left over from DBS (an acoustic track, we all know they recorded the Vegas 2009 show since several tracks were released) or possibly 20 Eyes, after all this time. That is highly unlikely, though. Or maybe he is writing a song for the film by himself? Who knows. I don't think it will be STP, though, it just wouldn't fit at all IMO.

Mike/LP said that LT was using all the tools in their toolbox and that they wouldn't have been able to make the album without making every single one of the albums before it. I agree. LT DOES encompass all of their albums into one, whether you like the album or not, it's true. It has songs like LGM, LITE or Victimized that would fit on HT or Meteora but a little more modern sounding. It has songs like IMR, IBG or BID that would fit on a record like MTM pretty well, just not as electroish. It has songs like UIB and Powerless that would fit well on ATS, and then it has songs that were made for LT, the 'folk' demo songs. LP wasn't trying to push the boundaries super far with LT, that wasn't their goal. They made whatever they thought sounded good and put it out, without being afraid to use some of their older roots, etc. I personally love LT. The hype for this next album, THP, is very different. Mike has been saying since at least September of last year that he wanted to kind of ''revive rock'' back into the mainstream. LP tossed out all of their old demos in favor of this new, heavier, more in your face style songs. Honestly, I feel like they are taking the same approach that they were with ATS, but it sounds opposite of that, that is the only difference. They have the attitude they had when making ATS, they had a vision that they wanted to take and run with, and they are pushing boundaries, for example, including a 6 minute song with Rakim as their lead single. Having Paige Hamilton and Daron Malakian on the album. And judging by recent reviews, it seems all songs are pretty heavy, which the band has never done since Hybrid Theory. I also feel like this record will alienate LP fans, much like ATS did, while LT kind of remained neutral and even brought back some older fans into interest. Some of you might call me a hypocrite because I always bash ATS. I want to make this clear. I don't HATE the album at all. I actually like it, it's just my least favorite album out of the 5 so far. It took me a couple years to understand ATS and appreciate it, and when I did, I realized it's a great record and it might even be LP's best work (just not my favorite work), if that makes sense.

I agree. Having no making of DVD for LT sucked badly. I hope they include one with THP. It was said somewhere before that they had cameras rolling most of the entirety of making this album. I wonder if they do that with each album, though, and only a small portion makes the cut for making of's/LPTV.

I'm not sure about LA's radio, but in my area, that is definitely true. We have a rock station that plays only classic rock, that is pretty cool. But most of the other stations that are popular in my area do play that kind of music, the ''Disney commercial music'' shit.

Like I said in the other thread, that album cover has to be the best I have seen from LP so far. It reminds me a lot of LT, but I loved LT's album cover, so I guess it's only natural that I would love this one so much. It is better than LT's cover, though. The interview from Mike is absolutely awesome. I still wish the album was called Carnivores, but this album title is fine because it's means almost the same thing in terms of what it represents.
-
This has to be the best album cover I have seen so far in the span of 5 albums from LP. Reminds me a lot of LT (which I also loved) but different. It looks badass. That promo pic of the band is really cool, too, and I thought I was going to go crazy from seeing the LT promo pics so much. The interview with Mike is awesome, the best one yet. This is a great morning.

Calm down. Lol.

Not sure, but I know he wore an ATS tour shirt on stage once back in like 2010/2011. http://data2.whicdn.com/images/32365493/large.jpg

1 instrumental would be fine. I like how they had 1 instrumental track on HT, Meteora and LT, it was cool. But no more than 1.
-
Since it was confirmed that THP will be a 12 song album, we actually have the tracklisting except for 2 tracks. I think the other 2 tracks might be an intro type track, similar to Wake, and then the other track might be an instrumental. Pretty awesome. Obviously in no particular order.. 01. Until It's Gone 02. All For Nothing (Feat. Paige Hamilton) 03. Keys To The Kingdom 04. The Wastelands 05. Line In The Sand 06. Final Masquerade 07. Warrior 08. Mark The Graves 09. Guilty All The Same (Feat. Rakim) 10. Rebellion (Feat. Daron Malakian)

Oli has been a LP fan for most of his life, his first concert was actually LP & Deftones on their European Tour back in 2001. Nice video. Cool that they are playing Download alongside LP.

It was said somewhere that GATS falls in between the tone of the album, so I imagine there are heavier songs and softer songs. I hope some of these are the heavier songs. GATS is super heavy instrumentally, but I want to hear some really aggressive vocals, too.

Nice to see they are doing a warm up show in AZ. I bet they will do a Club Tattoo signing, too. Pretty good support acts.
