martinez Posted Sunday at 12:16 PM Posted Sunday at 12:16 PM I like that they did some much different stuff to make this show more special. Quote

He did that and doesn't want to go through it again and with good reason. Don't understand this fixation from people, starting to sound performative at this point. This. he even confirmed this in an interview. Also: if they did something for Chester at every single show, how sincere would that feel? They play over 60 shows this tour. I think talking about Chester every time would just feel like a point from a todo list at some point. I think it’s better if they just do or say something in the right moment. Like when they notice a beautiful drawing of Chester on a poster or something like that. In Berlin for example, the camera showed a lot of posters people brought and when a picture of Chester was shown, the stadium erupted in cheers. It wasn’t planned and they didn’t even need words, but it created a beautiful moment. Quote
RentEznor Posted Sunday at 01:43 PM Posted Sunday at 01:43 PM Great show from what I saw online. Anyway, I'm not surprised by the obvious new accounts coming here to stir the poit only because they're extremely attached to a famous guy who passed 8 years ago and still not understanding the situation and how everyone has dealt with his loss properly like mature adults. I am though let down (no pun intended) by a long time user speaking out like a newcomer. Quote
MMM Posted Sunday at 03:44 PM Posted Sunday at 03:44 PM Phoenix had a great setlist. Best rotations IMO. Quote
xxHybridXeroxx Posted Sunday at 04:19 PM Posted Sunday at 04:19 PM Show seemed awesome from what I’ve seen. I’m glad they mentioned Chester after all, now maybe people will finally shut up. (I doubt it) While I miss Chester and idolized him myself, and his death absolutely crushed me. I don’t want to say I’ve moved on, but I’ve accepted it. Here’s a personal story for you, just to show people where my journey with this has taken me on the last 8 years, because I feel it’s kinda relevant to this topic: July 20th, 2017 was and probably still always will be one of the worst days of my life. I don’t remember much of that time frame unfortunately, all I do remember is just straight up zoning out every day for about 8 months and not caring about life. The Post Traumatic cycle was very helpful in learning to start the process of acceptance. During this time as well, I actually went to therapy and one of the things I mentioned was Chester. He said something that stuck with me, he said “would Chester want you to be miserable?” Over time I’ve learned to heal and accept his passing. It’s not that I don’t miss him, of course I do, but I don’t need them to mention him at every single opportunity or show because I’m one of those people who it would open up old wounds for. I don’t need to be constantly reminded that he’s gone, because that fact sucks enough as is. I’d rather focus on the here and now, the band’s back, they’re absolutely crushing it a year in. Emily is not trying to replace Chester, and Mike’s not trying to “erase” him. Last night proved that. TL;DR Some people need therapy. Quote

Chester forever will be in our heart no matter what. and for LP, they will always be my #1 band forever! Edited Sunday at 04:32 PM by Stranger Quote
MMM Posted Sunday at 04:51 PM Posted Sunday at 04:51 PM (edited) Finally, the band has a bit of a break. The second amercian leg is the most packed. Emily still sounds great and there are no signs of voice fatigue. I was worried at start of the tour, but now I know that she can manage voice perfectly. The future looks bright. I wouldn’t be who I am as a person without Chester and without LP. While he’s gone on this earth, he lives on in our hearts, and I celebrate him by singing his songs at shows. the best part? The band has new life with Emily and Colin now, and we can actually celebrate him while also looking forward to a bright future for the band. Quote

Uhhh, have you been following this tour? Mike is up to what, 3-4 Chester mentions just on this one leg of the tour already? He's brought up more than ever right now. Quote

Linkin park was never about single individuals becoming rockstars. Mike, Joe, Dave, Rob and Brad couldn't care less about being rockstars, they are all anti-diva personalities. Mike has the legend status, that's above rockstar status Quote
