#LetYouFade

What if it was an old OML demo?

As soon as I had the chance to listen to it, from the harmonic progression a melody immediately came to mind, a primordial demo shared by the band in 2015 in the OML pre-sessions - LINK BELOW

I don't know if it's a pure coincidence (harmonic progression, notes and tempo) or if the piece has actually been reworked.

The fact is that we are faced with the first piece of this new era that, in the metrics, presents "cut" bars just like it happens with almost all the pieces of that period.

Perhaps it could be a track recorded as a demo at the time and revised over the years.

The demo is District 108.

Obviously it's just food for thought.

I feel like you are right. It's not unusual for Mike to revisit demos/embryonic tunes and rework them into songs. Great job dude. Like how did you even remember that live that I had completely forgotten?

I kind of get the feeling that the song is about a life change, more specifically a graduation of some sorts. Which is kind of less heavy than what a majority is gonna assume hah

“saying congratulations”, “terrified of what’s next”, the wild empty feeling of freedom/emptiness at the party: “20 hours no sleep/lying there on the street” “supposed to feel different, why do I feel the same”.

Won’t let your friends fade no matter where life takes them.

But ofc LP songs are very ambiguous so who really knows. Could be about Chester, could be multiple things.

i miss guitar solos man, there are many songs that need them, specially Casualty.

speaking of guitar solos, i wished Good Things Go had a solo. it would've taken the song to another level than it already is.

sadly, guitar solos are not meant for LP songs. THP just wanted to proof that the band CAN DO IT but doesnt mean they have to do it for the their future releases.

Brad loves guitar solo but he choose not to. they all grew up listening to rock, heavy metal, shreading. but yeah, i wish they can improvise it for live shows (eg: What I've Done, Bleed It Out, Faint)

very cool find, I agree that the lyrics and “cut bars” feel very OML. I could tell OEO was OML immediately but this one didn’t cross my mind

hopefully we get the soft demo one day that Mike alluded to

This song def sounds like it was written for a closer, similar to Good Things Go. I mean, I don’t know if they band actually think like that (to intentionally make a song that sounds like the last song) but obviously when picking out the tracklist order, one of them feels like the best pick. It makes sense why this is now officially the last song on the album. My absolute favorite song on the album to.

Thanks!!!

At the time I love this experiment between keys and theremin. So, that melody has always been in my mind.

Whish someday we will have those demos!

Just listened to the song and I love it, along with Good things go it sits in my top 5 of the album. I hope we can get new music maybe by 2026, fingers crossed. The band is having a huge momentum, next is the In the end mix for the UEFA champions league final in 2 weeks.

Far better than the other 2 and Stained, I love Mike on this, the instrumental is very MTM. Don’t understand why it was not on the album. With Chester would have been ace.

I agree on the MTM vibes, it really sounds like an MTM demo, so good

I have faith that they will bring them back for the next album, Brad's solos are so good, Little Things was awesome and SOTD has a beautiful sound.

I have a feeling that Colin is a really good guitar player too.

I like it! I like Let You Fade. It's got a nice, nostalgic vibe. I like the guitar work here. A bit MTM style, just a bit more raw.

I agree with some, I'd also add a little guitar solo at the end.

Let you Fade is so dope.

It has big flavours of Deftones, but also Turnstile, especially with how the verses sound and how Mike sing them.

For sure a new favourite of mine.

Hopefully it grows on me but after a few initial listens, Let You Fade is by far my least favorite song on “From Zero.” Not a bad track, but definitely feel the “generic” vibes others bravely mentioned.

great to see the fanbase as a whole loving it and excited though. Always a good thing to have more songs!

The more I listen to the song the more I like it, it’s the exact example of what I wanted personally from LP comeback, it’s familiar without sounding like a 2.0 version copy pasted of an old song, but on the other hand doesn’t sound like a different band (I am the one really disliking the Paramore vibes of UFTB and the Rihanna - like chorus of Stained). This one FEELS like LP channeling their old stuff in new directions like TEM and Overflow. Not a top tier track but pretty good, like a 7/10.

I think this is the best of the three new songs. Feels a little different than other FZ songs and has that album closer energy. Good way to close out the FZ studio songs era.

I will say that the LYF and LFY acronyms being so similar is already annoying me.

I have been listening to Let You Fade on repeat all day, so much more plays than Unshatter and Up from the Bottom were getting when they released. I really like this song since it gives me a good feeling inside something I can feel that the other songs don't give me. I don't know why I feel like I have more of a connection to it and drawn to it more.

😄 same. In my head I always read „Lying from you“

But I love both songs in their own way. LYF hit really hard for me. Especially the bridge.

Totally this, Its hard to explain, I got goosebumps when I heard it the first time, the same experience I had with Chester songs. This just confirms they aced it with Emily, she brings so much to the band and they are having fun in the live shows, she is getting more confidence on stage.

Yes, I love that bridge! The heavy riffs and the screaming "Like thiiiiiis"
