Linkin Park Begins Rehearsals for Mexico & Asia - 'Good Things Go' Coming?

Recommended Posts

Linkin Park has begun rehearsing for their upcoming shows in Mexico and Asia, about two weeks out from the first show in Mexico City on January 30. Returning to Third Encore, Colin has posted several photos of multiple drum kits which doesn't come as a surprise since the band will need to return to multiple touring rigs again as they are accustomed to due to the travel.

We were already being reserved about any expectations for changes in the show since the Los Angeles fires undoubtedly impacted the region and possibly the crew as well, but surprise - Alex Feder has posted a video of him playing 'Good Things Go' on drums.

We have already seen an instrument change on the tour with Colin playing guitar on both 'When They Come For Me' (electric guitar) and 'My December' (acoustic guitar) on the tour. In interviews for the album, Mike said he originally asked Colin if he wanted to play guitar or drums, knowing that they needed both, before Brad recruited Alex. It definitely wouldn't come as a surprise to see Colin incorporated on guitar more on the tour... meaning they'd need someone on drums if they took the idea further - enter Alex.

'Good Things Go' has become an instant fan-favorite on the new album. Mike said around the album's release, "Lots of people saying Good Things Go is a favorite on the album. Love that, I didn't expect it."

We honestly would have expected 'Overflow' as the next live debut on the album, as the band has said since September they want to perform it live. Emily said, "'Over Each Other' is cool, but, like... 'Overflow,' come on! On the album, it's a standout to me, it expands the album in a really cool way, I think it's going to do that live, too." 'Good Things Go' would be a great surprise for fans as it is a top song on album reviews and album ranks across the fanbase.

Linkin Park returns to the stage January 31 in Mexico City for their first show in Mexico in nearly a decade, kicking off a three show run of Mexico in stadiums. After that, two shows in Japan follow along with Jakarta, Indonesia. The U.S. leg of the From Zero World Tour kicks off in April in Austin, Texas.

The concert in Mexico City is on January 31 not January 30.

To be honest. These instrument changes of the individual members (+Alex) during the live show are so awesome if you ask me. It's pretty badass of Collin to play guitar and then immediately switch to the drums. If we get another layer here and Alex plays drums while Colin plays guitar it would be wild.

Damn I cant believe that there's some hope for the Good Things debut this early...

perfection would be if they debut the music video for GTG before the tour starts that would be pretty good to attract more people to the shows.

Weirdest part about Alex is that he tagged a Mexico City rehearsal studio. Why would he be there already?

His girlfriend/wife is (part) Mexican i believe. Could be with the family over there.

he basically lives at mexico city all his free time he's always there w his girlfriend lol

what's really weird its if rehearsals started he should be w the band.

i assume that they asked him to learn GTG.

For me its the best song on an album but I thought GTG will be only track that they will not perform live cause the ending vocal parts from choruses are so hard to sing. It almost look like that part is pitch corrected in production. Maybe Emily will use some kind of falsetto. I don't know. I'm a bit afraid but if they planning release this song as a single they need to play it live. So we will see how it comes.

Good Things Go is one of my favorites from From Zero, I'm really looking forward to the live version. Overflow is also good, I'm excited about the live version. I'll be in Berlin this summer for the Linkin Park concert, it'll be my 8th Linkin Park concert. I've also been to a Dead by Sunrise, Fort Minor and Mike Shinoda concert, and two Julien-K concerts.

At the November 16th show, after the audience requested Overflow, Mike replied with "not today." Overflow will probably be included in at least some version of the setlist.

Honestly, I think all the songs from From Zero should be performed over the course of the year. Honestly, I'm more curious about older songs.

I believe From the Inside and Powerless are likely to be included in the setlist because the band uploaded videos for these songs on YouTube this week, and they’ve already expressed interest in performing the first one.

About the members switching instruments, I think the preference will always go to the official members, and Alex will fill in where there’s a gap. For example, in My December, he could easily play the guitar, but since the drums weren’t being played in that version, he made way for Colin.

Please not Powerless.

Actually, the band didn't upload them. Those songs are autogenerated by YouTube
