LPLStaff
Linkin Park returned to the stage in 2024 with a massive setlist for their shows, extending to over two hours for the first time in the band's career. Featuring 27 full songs along with a variety of interludes and of course the crucial 'Empty Spaces', the band has already started rotating quite a few songs and incorporating deep cuts, new songs, and more. With tracks like 'Lost In The Echo', 'A Place For My Head', and the brand new (to the live show) 'Keys To The Kingdom' already rotating in the setlists along with 'Lying From You' & 'Points Of Authority' and 'My December' (a major highlight of the show) & 'Friendly Fire' now being in a rotation spot, there is still a lot to come in 2025 as Linkin Park has played only around 10 full shows. Phew - that's a lot of songs popping in and out of the show already. In 2024 interviews, Emily mentioned 'Overflow' twice as being a song that not only she wants to play live, but one that Linkin Park has discussed performing. It seems likely that the track will show up at some point on the From Zero World Tour. Over half of From Zero has already been performed live, with just 'Cut The Bridge' and a majority of the second half of the album left - including 'Overflow', 'Stained', 'IGYEIH', and 'Good Things Go'. It would not be surprising with the new band lineup if the entire album ends up being performed throughout 2025. About 'Good Things Go', Mike said that he was surprised it became one of the fanbases's favorite songs on the album... maybe that song could make its way into the show. Online near the end of the 2024 live show dates, Mike Shinoda mentioned that the band has been discussing adding 'From The Inside' to the show and that he'd like to play it. This shouldn't come as a surprise as that is one of the main Meteora songs that has stuck around for many album cycles, including the European Tour for One More Light, the last tour the band did with Chester and Rob. Colin, on Instagram Live before the Korea show, said that he liked 'Runaway' and that the band had rehearsed more songs from The Hunting Party - we've already seen an extremely strong and well-rehearsed live debut of 'All For Nothing' with Page Hamilton in Texas. With two live debuts from The Hunting Party in 2024 with 'Keys To The Kingdom' and 'All For Nothing', the band has not only surprised fans with their versatility to dig deep in the catalog for songs that were never performed live, but have shown that they are willing to do things that perhaps the original band lineup wouldn't do live. And that's not pointing fingers at specific members - Mike has said some band members prefer to stick to a main set with minimal changes whereas others like to change it more. Showing that they are able to nail songs from The Hunting Party with Colin, Alex, and Emily, they should in theory be able to easily handle other songs from the album. Linkin Park has a larger catalog than ever before and shouldn't be afraid of pulling as many songs out as they can - singles, deep cuts, b-sides, remixes, mash-ups, anything. They have already started the From Zero World Tour extremely strong with a lot of songs and unique rotation spots, exceeding any such expectations fans would have had upon hearing the phrase "Linkin Park will be performing live in 2024." We are excited to see where this takes them in 2025. Our take? Pedal to the metal on The Hunting Party, 'From the Inside' is an easy win, and ...let it rip - add/try anything you might be feeling, new or old. With one of the largest touring years in a very long time set for 2025, what songs would you like to see Linkin Park perform live, either new or old? Linkin Park kicks off the 2025 dates with a three show stadium tour of Mexico, beginning January 31 in Mexico City. LeonardoMF93
I hope I’m wrong, but I think with the release of From Zero, we shouldn’t expect many songs from previous albums to be added to the setlist. I believe the band will focus on setlists featuring songs created for Emily’s voice and their major hits. That way, I think almost the entire From Zero will be performed live throughout 2025. I really hope to see Cut the Bridge. One thing they could take advantage of is including songs originally sung by Mike, such as No Roads Left, In Between, Hands Held High, and Sorry for Now. I would also love for the band to make an effort over the coming years to play all the songs from their main albums that have never been performed live. However, I find that quite unlikely. I’d also love to see With You, Forgotten, By Myself, Step Up, and Victimized/QWERTY. That said, I think many of these songs are almost impossible to expect. What I really hope for, though, is for the band to do something they’ve hardly ever done in their career: make each show unique, changing the songs and the order, just like Pearl Jam does. Following so many shows in 2025 will be tiring if they only have three setlists that change just two songs between them. Battleofone70
I have to agree with Breaking The Habit. Chester dominated that song and should just be left alone. Roads Less Traveled and Little Things You Give Away need to be left alone too. Mike and Chester’s harmonies are UNTOUCHABLE and have ALWAYS brought me to tears. To hear someone else try to replicate that would be devastating. Mike and Emily harmonize well but no one can TOUCH what they had. I would love to see Nobody’s Listening though. It’s become more or less a theme song of mine because no one thinks I can get that angry or you can push me that far. Heck, it’s even my ringtone. But I absolutely love what they are doing. Kudos to Emily for even setting a toe in those huge shoes and pulling it off remarkably. I look forward to what their future holds with much excitement! Justin
I'd like the band to bring back the 2001 live version of High Voltage. Quote Link to comment https://lplive.net/forums/topic/18190-songs-youd-like-to-see-in-2025/#findComment-339322 Share on other sites
NimaLP
They've already said they're thinking about adding From The Inside to the setlist. I just hope we get a THP rotation slot, just something from THP that's not Wastelands for god's sake. I think Emily would sound great on Guilty All The Same, Rebellion, or Final Masquerade. Also more songs from From Zero. I'd like them to play all the songs from the new album in some capacity in the upcoming shows. It's your new album and the songs aren't that long, you should be playing them. I would also put Somewhere I Belong, Breaking The Habit, and Given Up to minimum number of performances. I'm not saying they should drop them, because they're fan favorites and something like Given Up really gets the crowd excited, but at least put them in a rotation spot where they don't have to play them at every show. I like Somewhere I Belong, but not a fan of it as an opener. I remember Mike's Post Traumatic tour setlists being very interesting because each show had a different one and their own surprises, I hope they could implement something like that for LP shows as well, even though it would be a challenge because of the production stuff. Also, bring back What I've Done extended guitar solo and Points Of Authority's MTM era intro or something like that which we would get a different verse by Mike on every show. danielpsoad-09
I guess most of the songs on my list are somewhat "unrealistic" but since the question is about songs we'd "like" to see, I would have a A Line in the Sand and QWERTY at the top of the list. Then, I'd put Powerless as another option because it'd be awesome to see it performed live and also because I think Emily would crush it. Having said that, I'm fully expecting them to add FZ songs to replace some of the "deep cuts" they played this year as opposed to adding more deep cuts.
