Linkin Park are returning to Asia! Ahead of Mike and Chester's visit to Japan next week, the first dates from the band's One More Light Asian Tour have been announced: the band is heading to Japan in November.

The tour dates are as follows:

2017.11.02 - Tokyo, Japan (Makuhari Messe)

2017.11.04 - Tokyo, Japan (Makuhari Messe)

2017.11.05 - Tokyo, Japan (Makuhari Messe)

Details of Linkin Park's upcoming Asian tour first dropped around the time when 'Heavy' dropped. Mike announced the touring plans for the rest of the year in an interview with KROQ, citing November as the time when the band would be in Asia touring. Japanese promoters H.I.P. soon followed suit and teased a promo of an announcement for Linkin Park's Japanese shows, due for announcement in mid-April. Here we are.

Linkin Park has been very generous with Japan, with tons of memorable moments over the years. The band's first shows there were in 2001, in Tokyo and Osaka, where the setlist featured a rare Chester solo performance of Jane's Addiction's 'Jane Says,' only performed a handful of times. The band also performed in Nagoya, but we don't know the setlist for that show. The band returned in 2003 on the Meteora World Tour where they had a three-night residency at Tokyo's Nippon Budokan - the only time the band has ever performed at a venue three times in a row. The setlist had new additions every night - Night 1 had a new intro for 'Numb,' Night 2 saw the return of 'My December,' and Night 3 had 'Nobody's Listening' return to the set. The band escaped from the studio in 2006 while recording Minutes To Midnight for the epic Summer Sonic 2006 shows, featuring the band in top form and playing rare tracks like 'QWERTY' and 'Reading My Eyes.'

'QWERTY' was debuted on Summer Sonic 2006, becoming one of the only songs to be performed before being released.

Since then, the band's trips to Japan have always been special. The band returned there in 2007, 2009, 2011, and 2013. Some great moments include Dead By Sunrise performing at the three shows in 2009, the only live appearance of 'No Roads Left' (Mike sang it over the bridge of 'Bleed It Out' at Night 2 of the 5th LPU Summit in Chiba and the following day in Yokohama) and the rare appearance of 'Reading My Eyes' over the bridge of 'Bleed It Out' at Summer Sonic 2013 in Osaka. This will be the band's first time back to Japan since 2013 after skipping them on the tour for The Hunting Party, so the fans will definitely be hungry for some new music.

One of the best performances on the entire Living Things touring cycle is this epic rendition of 'Lost In The Echo' at Summer Sonic 2013 in Osaka.

Who's excited?! Linkin Park's touring schedule is really shaping up now. All that's left for 2017 now seems to be a North American tour... we know the band is eyeing August, September, and October for that tour, so we'll have to see how that shapes up when it gets announced. If you're planning on going to the shows, let us know! If you're in Asia, don't fret just yet, as we expect the band to be heading to many more countries there - be sure to check out the Tour Rumors thread for more info.

Linkin Park begins the One More Light Tour on May 6 at the Maximus Festival in Buenos Aires, Argentina. The band recently announced a special release show for One More Light in Las Vegas, Nevada on May 19, as well. I wonder if they'll announce more shows during their Japan trip? 3 Tokyo shows seems weird.

The good news about this is that this confirms the band will probably have three rotating setlists (or at least rotating parts of one setlist). Even they wouldn't play the same set in the same city three times in a row.
