RogueSoul Posted August 23, 2015 Share Posted August 23, 2015 The last leg of The Hunting Party Tour is underway, with the third show already approaching. After two successful shows in Belgium and Austria, the band's third stop on the tour takes them to Hockenheim, Germany on August 23, 2015 to perform at the Rock 'n' Heim festival! This will be the first of three shows the band will perform in Germany! When it comes to treading new ground, Germany is definitely far from being a new country for Linkin Park. In fact, it was the second European country Linkin Park had ever performed in, there first show there being back at the very beginning of 2001. Since then, Linkin Park has visited 19 German cities, making this show in Hockenheim the band's 20th German city. That's a big step! The other 19 cities Linkin Park has visited in Germany? Hamburg, München, Köln, Offenbach, Berlin, Nürnberg, Adenau, Weeze, Hannover, Frankfurt, Mannheim, Düsseldorf, Gräfenhainichen, Dortmund, Leipzig, Oberursel, Oberhausen, and Bremen. That's a mouth full. Impressive that over the last 14 years, the band has always managed to make time for Germany. If you recall last year's The Hunting Party European Tour, more than half of the shows on the tour were in Germany - 9 of 16 shows! The show in Berlin was allegedly recorded for inclusion on a live release, akin to Road To Revolution or Living Things+, but all that came from it was a live TV broadcast that had incredibly distorted audio until halfway through 'Guilty All The Same'. Perhaps we'll still see something come of it in the future! The previous two shows on the tour were anything but surprising. The band appeared at two festivals: the Pukkelpop festival in Belgium and the FM4 Frequency festival in Austria. Both shows featured the band's standard US Festival (Full) setlist that the band has been performing in some form or another over the past few months. What's most mysterious is that the band performed the setlist without almost NO rehearsals barring a short soundcheck in China last month, but took over a week to rehearse and perfect this setlist for Europe. Perhaps they have something up their sleeves for the upcoming headline shows...? That being said, it is unlikely that the band will play a different setlist at this show, but there is still hope that headlining shows may have a different result. A special moment a the Pukkelpop show: instead of ending the Ballad Medley traditionally with the piano outro of 'Iridescent', Mike performed a piece of 'Let It Go' from Frozen! Nice to see a change in the medley, even if may have been impromptu and on the spot. Let's talk about some different music - specifically, who's joining Linkin Park at this festival. The main stage opens with post-hardcore act While She Sleeps, before hard rockers Halestorm take their turn on the stage. Halestorm has appeared with Linkin Park several times throughout the year so far, with them promoting their new album Into The Wild Life (which is pretty damn good!). Appearances with LP include Rock On The Range and the Bud Light River City Rockfest. Before Linkin Park were forced to cancel due to severe weather, they also performed at Rocklahoma. Hell, they even performed with Stone Temple Pilots back in Camden at the MMR*B*Q! If The Hunting Party Tour hadn't ended, it almost seems like a Linkin Park/Halestorm tour wouldn't be too far off. Continuing on with the lineup is Simple Plan, who will open for Linkin Park at the last show of the tour in Rome, Italy, Flogging Molly, KIZ, Kraftklub (who will perform with the band again at Rock im Sektor), and the Farin Urlaub Racing Team (which is a fitting addition to the lineup, considering Hockenheim is essentially a Formula 1 racetrack). Whoever picked out the lineup certainly had their work cut out for them... This tour isn't all about Linkin Park. Making three appearances throughout the tour will be none other Mike Shinoda, under the persona of Fort Minor. He'll be making stops in Copenhagen, Berlin, and Düsseldorf (as part of the Rock im Sektor lineup; the same day as Linkin Park!) promoting 'Welcome', beyond his short solo portion of Linkin Park's shows. He performed a show back in June in Los Angeles, where he performed a wide variety of songs - from rare Linkin Park tracks like 'It's Goin' Down' to a mashup of 'Castle Of Glass' and 'Kenji', the setlist really had it all. We don't know if he'll change anything up for the upcoming shows, but it's not too far off to assume that he won't. After all, he's claimed since it's a one-man show, he can easily just practice stuff from the comfort of his own hotel room. Time will tell! Who's heading to the show? This is the band's last festival show until the end of the tour, with headlining shows coming up in Poland and Belarus. Between those two shows, Fort Minor will be stopping in Copenhagen to perform. The festival is too expensive for only one day! 90 Euros for one day ...the last two years RnH was a three day festival and the tickets cost 100-105 euros... yeah and the Berlin is almost sold out with (i would say) 28.000-32.000 people Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

I don't know who really was the initiator but what a dumb regulation for an open air festival... That applies to every show they've been a part of. Of course, they can't always control what goes on in the other bands' dressing rooms (like Incubus probably smoked pot when they were at KROQ AAC). That applies to every show they've been a part of. Of course, they can't always control what goes on in the other bands' dressing rooms (like Incubus probably smoked pot when they were at KROQ AAC). Astoria 2007 there were signs everywhere about no smoking. This was before the indoor-smoking ban landed in UK. I remember a guy lighting a cig despite of it and was threatened to be removed from the venue for the night before the show started. So it's definitely been a deal for a while now.
