I agree completely with what Skipees said. LIVING THINGS seems like a collection of demos from other albums, with the exception of CASTLE OF GLASS. LOST IN THE ECHO feels like a demo off of Hybrid Theory or Meteora. IN MY REMAINS feels like it could have been a revamped MtM demo. BURN IT DOWN sounds like a demo for New Divide. LIES GREED MISERY feels like a combination of Hybrid Theory/Meteora and A Thousand Suns. I'LL BE GONE also could have been a revamped MtM demo. CASTLE OF GLASS feels really unique, and I can't find a different album it would fit on. VICTIMIZED definitly feels like an incomplete Hybrid Theory or Meteora demo with an extra verse of Mike singing. ROADS UNTRAVELED feels like it would fit on MtM or ATS. SKIN TO BONE reminds of ATS. UNTIL IT BREAKS feels like a Fort Minor demo with Chester and Brad thrown on. TINFOIL/POWERLESS also feels like a mixture of MtM and ATS. It was very clear what they were going for with this album, they were trying to combine elements from all their previous albums into one, but it just wasn't executed as well as it could have been. I wouldn't say it was a "letdown", but it definitely wasn't their best.

Agreed. I like VICTIMIZED, but it's too short to be considered a full length song. I feel like it was made just to appease the old-school fans.

I always imagined the 'Too Late' chorus in place of the whoas. It just seemed to fit rather well.

I'd prefer a live debut. Songs that have been played before I can listen to. Songs that have never been played live I can't listen to in that way.

I'm guessing either COG or IBG. Along with IMR, those two songs are the only ones to have received only one vote from one person.

IN MY REMAINS has gotten one vote, and LOST IN THE ECHO hasn't gotten any, but that doesn't mean they will win. It just means that they are better than the tracks that remains. CASTLE OF GLASS and I'LL BE GONE also only have one person voting for it, so that would put it in the same league as IN MY REMAINS.

Yeah, I was actually wondering if anyone was clamoring for STB to be played live. In my time here at LPL, which admittedly isn't very long, I've never seen anyone begging for Linkin Park to play SKIN TO BONE. I've seen I'LL BE GONE, CASTLE OF GLASS (fixed), POWERLESS, and even ROADS UNTRAVELED and UNTIL IT BREAKS, but never SKIN TO BONE. I'LL BE GONE seems like it would be easier to do live than IN MY REMAINS. I think the main issue with IMR was the pitch changing so drastically during the chorus. I'LL BE GONE seems like it would be rather straight foreword, but that might just be me.

I'm disappointed, but not at all surprised. What the hell? I see no issues with IBG live. In all honesty, I think it would be easier to translate into a live setting than some of the other LT songs (see LGM). I'm not really bothered by this. I was never a huge fan of the cover songs anyway. I could think of a few ways around this, like playing a stripped down version of it on piano or something, but I understand that there are other issues with playing these songs, namely in terms of vocals. Also, this bit really stuck out to me: "but we have other songs in mind". This could mean a lot of things. It could simply mean the songs they are already playing live, new songs off of the new record, or older songs that have been dropped. That could be interpreted in many ways. Chester said in an interview once that they wouldn't say no if it came up. It seems like it's for the best, as Mike is needed with LP for their new record. However, Mike working with STP as simply a producer would be pretty cool and definitely change things up with them and how they sound. Agreed.

It depends on what point it is in the election. If it doesn't affect the final 3, then they are both eliminated. If it does affect the final three, then we hold a short tie-breaker round where you can only vote for the ones that tied.

+1 That's why I'm voting for BURN IT DOWN. It is nothing more than a pop song meant for radio. I knew SKIN TO BONE wasn't going to win, but I was hoping it would at least beat BID or POWERLESS.

Obviously, this is all based around a May/June release date for the album, but that seems like a good guess.

I'm more shocked because from what I've heard on here, I'LL BE GONE and CASTLE OF GLASS were among the most well received tracks off of LIVING THINGS.

That's not what I meant, but that was a good catch. What I meant when I said that is imagine IN MY REMAINS and CASTLE OF GLASS on a setlist together. I love both songs, and would have much preferred them drop another LT song *cough*LIES GREED MISERY*cough*. It was also the only change done to the sets for 2013 so far after it was leaked that LP had rehearsed I'LL BE GONE and Chester had mentioned the inclusion of POWERLESS in the sets.
