  1. So I'm finally watching the show, and as usual, I'm noticing stuff nobody else seemed to. -Ann and Nancy Wilson both just sang on Castle of Glass, despite Nancy also playing acoustic guitar during rehearsals. -The Iridescent portion of the medley had an extended outro. -Mike Einziger was CLEARLY soloing over the last chorus of In the End. Also, that performance of Burn it Down was FAR from the "best ever." Just because Chester sang "UP" instead of "ERP" for once doesn't make up for the fact that he sounded incredibly strained, wasn't able to hold notes for their full duration, and was still going off-key. Despite that, I wouldn't say this was Chester's worst show ever, like some people are claiming. He's done shows sick before, and this is about what he sounded like. Shitty timing, but it happens. I also didn't think Mike E. added a lot to What I've Done. His lead work was kind of timid and unsure-sounding, and he was playing the wrong chords on a lot of the rhythm parts. His appearances on BIO were way cooler.
  2. I figured that was just Chester's mic stand and he wasn't using it, but I didn't pay a lot of attention either.
  3. ^ I don't believe Nancy's doing any vocals on COG, just playing acoustic guitar. Could be wrong, but she doesn't really sing a ton with Heart, Ann handles almost all of the main vocals.
  4. They're apparently using a rotating stage for quick set changes at this show.
  5. PLEASE don't let the only true "live" performance of ALTNC be at a private party for a bunch of industry people that we'll never get any footage from...
  6. Well shit, the only reason I can think of them specifically dropping a song they JUST debuted the day before if it was supposed to be played is if they straight-up didn't feel like playing it. Meaning either Chester didn't think his voice was up for it, somebody not named Mike or Chester didn't like playing a song they had nothing to do with in the first place, or they thought the debut performance sucked. I honestly don't think this bodes well for the song being played tomorrow.
  7. Either they ran out of time (doubtful, considering they played for what, an hour and 20 minutes?), or they're saving it for tomorrow so there's something different between the two shows? Doesn't explain why they'd play it at the Harman show though, unless they specifically got a request for it from the organizers...
  8. ...What the actual fuck? Why debut ALTNC yesterday and then not play it today?
  9. I know some people will be disappointed that they didn't play any new Living Things stuff, but I didn't even expect ALTNC to be played at these shows, considering the band said just a month or so ago that they didn't plan on ever playing it without Steve. Not a "new" song, but new for 2/3rds of the band lol. Dusting off Wake and WTCFM is an added bonus. Joe will probably still argue that the band has been playing the same setlist since 2007, (insert band member) should quit the band, and Papa Roach is infinitely more awesome though.
  10. Ahh yeah, I tend to forget that Iridescent exists since it's been played in a medley for so long, lol.
  11. Even better example: Session opening the 2009 shows. They do throw random stuff in there during these "in-between albums" shows from time to time.
  12. Assuming this show and Vegas get the same setlist, here are my predictions for collaborations: -Nancy Wilson on COG (already known) -Travis Barker and Rob both playing drums on ALTNC -Filharmonic doing the gang vocals on WTCFM
  13. Mike's using his GGP guitar on LGM! Awesome!
  14. The fact that it's the second biggest single of the band's career MIGHT have something to do with that... LMFAO. Easily the biggest scheduling fail of the band's ENTIRE career. How the hell could management overlook something like that and/or think people wouldn't notice?! Total slap in the face to everyone in the Las Vegas area who dropped money on an LPU membership.
  15. Throwing personal attacks at someone who didn't even mention you by name doesn't exactly paint a good picture of you, lol. For anyone wondering, I don't "hate" Felipe. In terms of actually getting shit done with liberating recordings, he's done more than I have. But having a thread like this on a forum that Felipe also frequents is probably just asking for trouble, because a list of uncirculated recordings ultimately leads to questions about WHY certain recordings are uncirculated...and let's face it, Felipe's name comes up in quite a few "big" cases. For the sake of not escalating drama any further, I'll avoid the details. But here's the way I see it: Everyone is equally capable of being the good guy or the bad guy, and they usually change sides fairly often. Some even manage to be both at the same time. I would know! I mean christ, just with LPL alone, I can say that I both helped create it and damn near destroyed it (indirectly) at different points. Tapers, traders, buyers, sellers, uploaders, downloaders...they can all be great, they can all suck, 50% of them could be great one week and then suck the next week. I don't think it's worth the time trying to discern whether someone is "overall" good or bad, because then you just end up saying stuff like "Astat is a little fucker" without much of anything to add to it. I think it's better to compartmentalize everything and look at each action someone makes as a standalone thing. Why do you think every person in the LP community that I've been friends with for a long time has also hated my guts at some point? Because I'm an asshole, I fuck up, I make stupid decisions, I stop giving a shit about important things - SOMETIMES. It all comes back around eventually though. I think everybody's like that. Certain percentage of good, certain percentage of shit. I'm like that, Felipe's like that, Mark's like that, Jonas is like that, Miley Cyrus is like that...well, maybe not, I'm not entirely sure about her... Appreciate the good, but don't just sweep the bad under the rug eiither. It all coexists in the same world anyway.
  16. LP.com and also being aired live on AXS TV. And that's the show on the 11th, not this one.
  17. I don't even have to guess to know who one of those two people are. And trust me, you're part of a VERY large group of people who have been screwed over/annoyed/harassed/run off by said person. And there's a reason I check this thread frequently, but rarely post in it: I'm constantly wondering how long it's going to take before one of the people constantly bugging your for updates in here succeeds in pissing you off and ruining yet another opportunity for new/upgraded recordings to find their way into the community. I applaud you for still being willing to participate at all, because I wouldn't blame you a bit if you didn't want to. I basically quit the trading scene 6-7 years ago because the constant stress of dealing with greedy "gimme gimme" people from one side and equally greedy "I'm gonna announce to the world that I have this show but it's not for trade, sorry" hoarders from the other side was rarely worth it.
  18. I don't believe there's ever been so much as a 10-second clip released of anything from the Zepp show. We got the setlist confirmed right after the show happened, but that was it. No reason to believe they would have rehearsed 2 different versions of a song for 2 performances within 5 days of each other on a "tour" that only consisted of 4 total shows though...
  19. *facepalm* NANCY Wilson (from Heart). Gretchen Wilson is a dime-a-dozen white-trash country bimbo best known for contributing such lovely tunes as "Redneck Woman" and "When I Think About Cheatin'" to the world. Because who actually WANTS to break down stereotypes, right? This will be hands-down the coolest collaboration LP has EVER done on stage, BTW. Nancy is awesome.
  20. LP management never ceases to amaze me. LPL posts numerous recordings that WB could TECHNICALLY throw a huge fit over and nothing ever happens, but some news site posts the opening bands for a show that's less than a week away? LOL NOPE CEASE AND DECIST MAKE THAT SHIT DISAPPEAR ASAP
  21. Tom Morello will probably perform solo as The Nightwatchman, and Mix Master Mike will probably do a DJ set. I'd like to think Travis Barker might perform ALTNC with Mike and Chester like he did a few weeks ago, but I doubt it since Steve Aoki won't be there. Travis might perform with Mix Master Mike as a duo like he used to do with DJ AM.
  22. Thanks for editing in all the video clips for me Mark!
  23. Mark asked me to post a thread on this for future reference purposes, so here goes: Today, it occurred to me that the band has actually performed no fewer than SIX different arrangements of My December over the years. I figured I'd note when they were performed, and what the differences between them were. *NOTE* ALL live versions of My December are performed a half step higher than the studio version. The original is in the key of D minor, the live version is in Eb minor. Version 1: Debut performance at KROQ's Almost Acoustic Xmas in 2000 (12/17/2000). This version was performed by Mike on piano, Brad on acoustic guitar, and Chester on vocals. The rest of the band did not participate. This version also featured a unique piano intro by Mike that wasn't used at any other performances (likely due to the song opening the band's set that day). Version 2: Performances on the September 2001 European Headline Tour (9/15/2001 through 9/24/2001), and possibly the When Bands Attack performance on 9/28/2001 that we don't know the setlist for. This version was performed by Mike on MPC (sampled piano parts), Brad on acoustic guitar, Joe (scratching and sampled drums), and Chester on vocals. Rob didn't participate, and I don't believe Phoenix did either (he definitely didn't play cello at these performances, at least). Version 3: Performances beginning on the November 2001 Countdown to Revolution Tour (definitely 11/20/2001, probably 11/18/2001), and continuing through the end of Projekt Revolution 2002 (2/24/2002). This version was the first to feature the full band, with Rob playing live drums and Phoenix playing cello (yes, he played cello at ALL of these performances, not just KROQ 2001 - his cello can be seen on the 2001: A Hybrid Odyssey documentary, which was filmed on the Countdown to Revolution Tour, and it can be clearly heard on the 2002 recording on the Somewhere I Belong single). Brad continued to use an acoustic guitar for all of these performances, and Mike continued playing the piano part on an MPC, with the exception of the second night of KROQ AAC 2001 (12/9/2001), where he used a real piano. Version 4: Performances on the 2004 Meteora World Tour (1/16/2004 through 3/15/2004). This was the closest thing to the studio version that the band ever played. The full band participated once again, Mike played a real piano for these performances, Brad played an electric guitar (albeit a piezo-equipped one designed to create "semi-acoustic" tones), and Phoenix played electric bass. About the only difference between this version and the studio version is the key. Version 5: Performances in Japan in 2006 (8/10/2006 and 8/15/2006). This was the first "piano version" of the song performed as a duet by Mike and Chester, with Mike's piano parts being basically identical to all of the previous live versions. Version 6: Performances in late 2007/early 2008 (12/8/2007 through 3/10/2008). This was the second "piano version" of the song performed as a duet by Mike and Chester, with Mike's piano parts being completely changed from the original version of the song. There you go - all 6 versions!
  24. Cool to see all of these in one place, I remember seeing a few of them here and there (the picture of Phoenix playing cello has been around for as long as I can remember, and I've had the picture of Brad and Mike from My December at Docklands 2001 on my Guitars of Linkin Park website for several years), but a lot of them are new to me. Phoenix actually played cello on My December on both nights of KROQ AAC 2001 (and probably all of the Countdown to Revolution shows too), as well as all of the 2002 performances of that song. Could be from any of those shows. Either Riff Raff or DJ Z-Trip from one of the 2002 performances of It's Goin' Down, or possibly DJ Lethal on Step Up at Tacoma 2001.
  25. No. He has a show in Malaysia on the same day.
