I hope it'll not be named as 'Linkin Park', but something else. ☹️

I can imagine the same shit as before, a female vocalist sings, Mike raps, etc, it would be awesome.

They deserve to be called Linkin Park.

The guys + Talinda are in good terms if Rob and Joe dont want to tour i dont think that they have a problem if they tour as LP.

It's time to move on. It's sad but it's really exciting too.

Yeah, sorry but this sounds like a bad idea. A female vocalist is just so different, it's not something that appeals to me as an LP fan.

Obviously the band can do whatever they want and if they want to do 180s they can do 180s - some would say it wouldn't be the first time...

But a female vocalist, either on tour singing old LP songs or making new ones is just... Not for me at all.

Well, it might just be once more. One can only hope. Right now my hope is that, if they're touring again, they'll bring in some of the new stuff we've finally heard. Pictureboard, Friendly Fire, Lost, Fighting Myself. Some PT/In My Head/AO stuff maybe.

I dont think that they will try to play deep cuts, it will be their comeback tour for sure they are going to do basically Papercuts live plus 1 or 2 Shinoda solo songs.

One thing I think, if they're going to continue and they DO move on with a female singer, they need to play to her strongest abilities for their first album. Show off what she does best and then show she can do it all through the live stuff before getting testy with it. That's just me, though.

It would be unfair to ask for a singer who can play the whole catalog but atleast he/she should be capable of playing 80% of the main albums.

I dont want a vocalist that avoids the screaming parts and just let the crowd sing most of the song.

I wonder what is going to be the role of the female vocalist? is she going to be considered a member of the band? new songs? tour only?

I dunno man, the gravel's there. I think she could easily pull it off, especially with a little training and practice. The real question is can she keep it up over a nearly 2 hour set.

For me she sounds like she's having a hard time to pull it off, why would you choose someone who will be limited and would only be able to sing easy songs.  HT25 is coming next year pretty sure that a promoter would want to get the band to perform the whole album, she cant do it.

Bonnie really did surprise me in the Bleed it Out video, and it was the test i needed to accept LP with a female singer. It can happen and it can be very good!

She doesnt have enough power to do the screaming parts of other songs, also she doesnt really screams its more like yelling.

She can do All For Nothing.. YOU SAY!!!

I cant picture Bonnie doing the Faint/OSC/APFMH bridges, no way.

Also now that QWERTY is getting popular they might play again, theres no way that she can do that.

  7. I still believe that Bobby Amaru is the best choice

    Going big with my predictions.

    2025:

    - Headlining all or most Danny WImmer fests in the US. Billed as 25 Year anniversary of Hybrid Theory

    - Headliner Shows in major A market cities

    - Sick New World headliner

    - Small LA area show as a warmup to touring OR live debut with new singer at Coachella (either as Headliner, Top row billing, or surprise set)

    - At least 1 new song to get everyone introduced to new singer. No album right away

    - TONS of merch. TONS.

Imagine getting a singer who can't do Hybrid Theory in full for the 25th anniversary lol

Jay Gordon hasn't done anything else with the band besides one song in 20+ years. Why did he open his mouth now? Even with the rumors having some kind of veracity, I was very confused by his out of nowhere statement.

Regardless, whatever might happen next year, I'm excited.

Jay was always right, he messed up and threw the interviewer under the bus, for sure he had a source close to the band that told him that the band is coming back w a female singer.

Talking about Jay's words he said that THEY ALREADY HAVE THE SINGER which is something different from what Billboard is claiming.

Makes sense if they already have the vocalist, they need a lot of time to figure stuff.

  9. There's no way that they can go on tour and not play heavy songs, even Mike on his solo tour played APFMH w Jennifer.

Mike and the rest of the guys know that they need to play the heavy songs and a vocalist who can sing all or almost their whole catalog is needed.

I hope that they don't choose someone like Bonnie from Stand Atlantic, she has a nice voice but she's very limited and doesn't have the screaming ability, she just yells like Deryck.

Someone like the vocalist of Spiritbox or Jennifer would be great.

Hehe,I find it funny because he's kinda half the reason why I was gone for 5 months 🤣

If I had to name 3 people with the more extensive knowledge about the band in no order

    Mark Hahninator

    Astat

    Geki

I wish we had Geki around I prefer his knowledge over other users that usually post only nonsense stuff or rarely bring any topic to discuss about the band.

I'm annoying I know but at least I try to keep the discussion going about the band.

    Bring back Geki

Another thing I thought of is that maybe Joe & the band came to a conclusion that in the year 2024 a rock band doesn't really need a DJ, so it would be natural to start this "new chapter" without one in the band.

They would work around Joe's parts during live shows, like use backing tracks and have someone else (Mike/Brad) operate the samplers.

Joe would still work with them, but more as an art director, designer.

    Are you serious ? Lol

I'm guessing Joe and Rob aren't interested in a reunion if this is true. Or at least not at this time. The band would almost certainly bring on a new drummer to fill Rob's spot (either a new official member or simply a touring drummer). Joe would be a little harder to replace in my opinion.

Warren Willis could easily fill in for Joe, it's just like a natural step, atleast for live shows.

I would love to see someone else drumming for the band, Dan Mayo sounds off when he plays LP stuff.

Zummo would be great, he will be available next year.

  13. When I was trying to figure out how the band could comeback there was not a single scenario in which I imagine having a female vocalist as the lead singer, I love female bands its what i listen mostly but I think that female vocals dont go well with LP's sound.

But no matter what I'll support the band, hopefuly they chose the right person for the job.. being the lead singer of LP means that you MUST be able to sing almost any genre, any style.

Why a girl? the only thing that comes to mind is that they want a fresh start, probably having a girl would help to not being compared day and night to Chester.

  14. Linkin Park Considering 2025 Reunion Tour With New Vocalist

"Mike Shinoda, Brad Delson and Dave Farrell are weighing plans to bring on a female vocalist to succeed the late Chester Bennington.

Three members of Linkin Park are mulling a possible 2025 reunion tour and are considering hiring a female vocalist to succeed late lead singer Chester Bennington, several sources close to the band tell Billboard.

Booking agency WME is taking offers for a potential Linkin Park tour along with headlining festival dates featuring Mike ShinodaBrad Delson and Dave Farrell, the sources say.

The band has not indicated who will sing on behalf of Bennington.

One source tells Billboard the band is hoping to find a female vocalist to front the reunited band, matching rumors that have been making the rounds in recent weeks. On March 30, during an appearance on Wired in the Empire on KCAL 96.7, Orgy’s Jay Gordon said he had heard rumors about a Linkin Park reunion.

“Very, very cool guys and obviously a great band,” he said. “They’ve been around a long time and they’re still going for it,” he said. “It’s going to be tough without Chester, but we’ll see. I hear they got a girl singer now. That’s what I heard.”

Gordon later issued a statement saying his comments had been taken out of context, writing, “With regards to this linkin park singer thing. I know nothing about any of that.”

Shinoda was asked about a possible reunion around the April 14 release of Papercuts (Singles Collection: 2000-2023), telling Revolver magazine, “Rumors always go around. People always ask what’s next for the band, and the best answer I can ever give anybody is when there’s something to tell you, we will tell you. When there’s an announcement to be made, it will be on LinkinPark.com. If you’re hearing it from somebody else, you can trust that information as much as you want to trust it.”"

Chester sounds incredible on In the Darkness and Walking in Circles. In the Darkness is really something. A+.

They cut the talking between the songs where Chester was introducing them... that part is unfortunate and doesn't make much sense unless they were out of space on the vinyl or something?

I guess that Ryan could find a way to release only the talking between songs? so we can fix that.
