There is almost no difference between Mike and Brad. At least for a large amount of songs you cannot identify who came up with the guitar idea. That’s due to the simplicity of LPs guitar style.

Remember a lot of guitar stuff off of THP even came from Mike.
I guess something like POA, LFY, Forgotten, Don’t stay is something that Brad creates.

Faints leads were created by Mike after he figured it out.

we should exaggerate Brads role when it comes to creating guitar riffs. At least since ATS he was identified more than a guitar player and that’s why it’s good he continues.

Know that I think about it Mike is a really great guitar player, very underrated we never talk about how good he is.

Brad's role is much more of a producer role in the band now (and has been for a while, you could argue) than a guitarist - of course he records some guitar but a lot of the guitar on the album is Mike and Colin. They need Brad for that producer aspect - the true "glue" for LP is Mike's songwriting and producing plus Brad's producer role. That's how you get the good stuff.

The Emptiness Machine guitar sounds a lot like Brad's style (Crawling, P5HNG, BID)

but that one was an early demo, Mike can emulate brad's style for sure.

  4. Not sure why everyone mentioned so many bands to describe LETYF

Just heard it 3 minutes ago

    what a fucking beautiful song

what you call bridge it isn't like an actual bridge, its a moment in which the song breathes, the calm before the storm, such a peaceful and beautiful moment.

this song makes me think about Chester and my daughter.

it doesn't sound like any band it isnt generic I love Mike singing over heavy guitars.

Emily in a support role feels good.

i freaking love this this song

top 3 for sure of the FZ songs.

I think this is the best of the three new songs. Feels a little different than other FZ songs and has that album closer energy. Good way to close out the FZ studio songs era.

I will say that the LYF and LFY acronyms being so similar is already annoying me.

    LYF

    LETYF

    LETYF FUCKING ROCKS!

It's a shame they put only 5 live songs on there (and we already have 3 of them), around 70 minutes of music can fit on a CD, right? Unfortunately, everything is subordinated to vinyl, 3 or 4 vinyls instead of 2 would probably be too expensive

its a shame that Overflow, Good Things and My December are only available if you rip the low quality youtube audio.

i need them in full quality...

also it sucks that the video version of COG is not available anywhere, i love that version wish it had a proper audio release.

sadly, guitar solos are not meant for LP songs. THP just wanted to proof that the band CAN DO IT but doesnt mean they have to do it for the their future releases.

Brad loves guitar solo but he choose not to. they all grew up listening to rock, heavy metal, shreading. but yeah, i wish they can improvise it for live shows (eg: What I've Done, Bleed It Out, Faint)

I have faith that they will bring them back for the next album, Brad's solos are so good, Little Things was awesome and SOTD has a beautiful sound.

I have a feeling that Colin is a really good guitar player too.

Love it, the bridge is perfect. Now that last chorus needed a guitar solo real bad!

i miss guitar solos man, there are many songs that need them, specially Casualty.

  9. Man the bonus tracks are alright wish that the Deluxe Edition have a rearranged tracklist to make it flow better and not have the feeling that the album was over but hey here's 3 bonus tracks.

I wouldnt add anything from Already Over because it doesnt belong to FZ, other than that great tracklist.

i freaking hate the album intro btw, the Arcance Crown was the best option as an introduction to the album or the Inception intro that they used at the live show + Emptiness fucking rocks.

  10. I havent heard this song yet but the descriptions by you guys are nuts.. tons of different bands, tons of different genres, some think that this is the best FZ song (or one of the best) now someone ways that its the worst!

    wtf what a polarizing song!

  11. Hey man serious question! @LPLStaff the ultimate battle

    Who's the best Step Brad?
Benjamin Chandler vs Alex vs Sean Paden

edit: I was just listening to Rock On The Range with Benjamin and he sounds way way better than Alex, more similar to Brad's tone.

What happened w Benjamin? is he part of the band?

Would love to have your opinion! not sure if i missed someone who has filled in for Brad.

Was at the Rock on the Range 2015 show - picked one show that summer to see LP to get A Line in the Sand and was pretty disappointed they played with no Brad. It was the last time I saw the original band play.

This is a great festival and I'm going tomorrow, 10 years later... crazy. Hope LP's set gets extended to 2 hours since Incubus canceled.

What ? You didn't see the band during the OMLL cycle? (except HB)

    That's exactly my thoughts.

We have shows (maybe whole tours) in the past without Crawling and isn't dramatic.

Let's rotate Crawling especially now that Emily turns it in a karaoke song

    too many karaoke moments

i wonder if one day she will realize that there are moments that are unnecessary.

like what she did to the IGYEIH  bridge.

Emily is doing pretty fucking good.

If it's a "single" like Unshatter then who knows if they'll ever play it live

I dont remember Unshatter being promoted as a single by the band members.

Mike actually mentioned that Let You Fade its their next single.

  15. 13 hours ago, LPLStaff said:

    Didn't he say "3.... maybe 5"?

Would love to see Good Things Go and Keys after last night got IGYEIH and Stained. IGYEIH is a total jam live. Looking forward to it.

Well Let You Fade will be a single, pretty sure that they will play it ASAP.

For whatever it's worth, I remember seeing Alex singing on cut the bridge in tulsa too, Dave was nowhere near a mic tho - I dbl checked and can see in my vid and here's a screengrab during that part with Alex/Mike doing backing and Dave not

even if mariah carey did backup vocals the song would still suck ass.
