A 7 minute song? It seems that the first song ends around 4 minutes, fades out and the Donna song starts at around 4:14, it sounds totally different too. Massive difference in the mix if you listen over headphones. Is the trailer song in the movie? If it's not then there's the Terrified song from the opening, the "3rd act" song and 2 songs in the credits.

I guess I didn't pick the right quote, it wasn't really directed at you, just the whole 4 songs on LPU14 thing. It confuses me a little bit that everyone is talking about 4 songs with lyrics when it's clearly at least 5 songs, or did I miss something?

What I hate about this legal crap is that we'll probably never find out what they wanted to use originally instead.

You know that the whole soundtrack is more than just these 4 songs right? There's these full 4 full songs listed in the credits, and there's also additional instrumental music throughout the whole movie by them, pretty much just like the Raid soundtrack. I doubt that they would "waste" the on the LPU14 since they basically would make almost no money from it, and I'm sure they know a lot of people would be interested in buying it, it's still new LP music in some way. I hope that they do at least a digital release.

the "closing credits song" is clearly 2 songs or not?

I THINK it would work when you burn a data DVD with just the video_ts folder + contents but to make sure it works use something like Nero Burning Rom etc. that should have a DVD video preset you can use.

Last time was 4 songs, Waiting For The End, Iridescent, New Divide and One Step Closer. So 3-4 songs this time seems to be a realistic expectation. Does someone pay attention if something will be on BBC Radio 1?

I'd say that DVD's guarantee a certain grade of quality. All the stuff in SD resolution from TV and Camcorders are mostly in a DVD compatible format so they can easily be made into a DVD without losing quality, just like Astat explained. Other smaller format's avi etc. are often in pretty bad quality, so unless someone converted a crappy file to DVD you knew it's as good as it gets. Also DVD are a format that be easily played by anyone. You just burn it and it works, you often run into all sorts of problem with files that use other codecs. Another advantage of a DVD is that you can add multiple audio tracks and song chapters which makes it more comfortable to watch too. With HD and HDTV material it's a bit different. When something is in .ts especially from HDTV it is usually a direct copy of the recorded digital stream. Material from HD camcorders can be supplied in other formats since they are not all using the same one. Making DVD's of these would of course degrade the quality.
