  1. You can clearly see that behind the Kerrang Logo and the "Download 2007" layovers, there is a black bar behind it, and just above the video screen, so the bottom black bar to me was cut out, and the taper only left in part of the black bar above the video so that the "Kerrang" and the other overlay can be seen. It follows a similar trend to his Bootlegs, as

the Bangkok 2004 and 2007 Proshots were edited too:

That is no evidence for anything, there's no way the letterbox was added afterwards. If I understood you right, you are saying the bottom bar was replaced?

  2. I honestly hope that they don't release this. Don't get me wrong, it's a great show and crowd but the video quality is kinda disappointing. I understand that this was a live broadcast, and the editing is flawed because of that but for most of the show their skin color is off and the cams are shaking all the time with tons of lense flares that make it look shitty and blurry. I think the main problem is that the light show is just too complex for those cameras to capture it properly.

  3. I don't think they'll do a US tour this summer, especially since the Winter tour is already reduced to the east coast, they cover part of the west with the festivals in June/July and then that's it I guess. It looks more like they'll do Europe in August or so, and they have yet to tour Asia and Australia. And after that the tour is over I think.

Don't take the LT tour cycle as an example because that shit made no sense at all.

I love how everyone hates on Brad because he isn't jumping around crazy and literally moshing onstage to songs off of Hybrid Theory or Meteora.

That's not true. Everyone gets older, no one expects him to go crazy. The general Brad "hate" is about him being a lazy fuck on stage. He's turning around all the time and kinda hides at his side of the stage, or his lazy and sloppy guitar solos. And for being so bad at the M&G's.

He has his moments on stage of course, he enjoys Numb a lot, Burn It Down and a couple of others I can't recall right now.

  5. Maybe another reason they stopped the DSP is because it seems like every single show is recorded now on video and/or audio.

Then its available via Youtube or elsewhere online...such as here!

No, they started selling the DSPs because of the huge amount of crap online and they wanted us to have proper recordings of the shows.

  6. You are taking this a little bit out of the context. They said this BEFORE all the DSPs were available for purchase. The only way to get them all was in fact trading and sharing them, and that's what we and everyone else did. They sold the CD's and all the costs were covered, nobody got hurt.

THEN when all the shows were available, we official stopped that but everyone still kept doing it, which is a part of the reason the DSPs were stopped. Like I said it's it just a part of the reason, I personally think that the lack of promotion is still the major reason that the DSPs didn't make enough money.

Of course they don't seem to have the final say in this, because all those statements that sharing is ok mysteriously disappeared once the shop opened. It doesn't matter what they say, just because they say it doesn't make things right. If an artist tells you to pirate their music doesn't make it right. Of course they don't care if we share them, buy them or whatever.

  7. Nice recording! All little too rumbly for my taste in terms of the EQ but I like it, one important thing about the editing though

    "independently normalised"

is a very bad idea, the left channel is much louder than the right channel, both channels need to be normalized by the same amount, both sides never exactly peak the same, so if you normalize them independently most of the time they will come out unequally.

  8. If you think that 14 is worse than 5 or 7 you should definitely go and see a doctor, this has nothing to do with taste or opinion.

    - 7 had absolutely nothing new, censored versions of live songs we already had, best performances? debatable

    - 5 had an incomplete show, that we already had, with the worst mix and mastering of all time, it's a true piece of crap that should be shot into the sun. The sound engineer must have had a stroke and 3 year old finished it.

    - 14 is all unreleased stuff, I'm not a huge fan either but at least Breaking The Habit is great, I'd say that makes it the worst one since 8. Even 8 is better than 5 and 7.

8 is hated because it dropped after 7, I'm sure it wouldn't have been as bad if 8 was dropped instead of 7, because 8 basically ruined LPU the 2nd year in a row.

  9. Found an interesting article about the technical stuff for the 4k broadcast, it's in German though:

    http://www.heise.de/newsticker/meldung/4K-ueber-Satellit-Linkin-Park-aus-Berlin-live-ins-Wohnzimmer-2460739.html

    Short summary:

    - Twelve 4k cameras were used (11 Sony F55 and a brand new Toshiba camera)

    - they installed extra lights throughout the area, and on stage for more depth, the light was very challenging in general

    - the LED screens had to be changed from 60Hz to 50Hz to avoid flickering in the video

    - the raw signal was sent via fiber to be transcoded from 12 Gbit/s to 35 Mbit/s and then sent to the satellite

    - 120 people were involved in the production

    - it was decided to do this only a few weeks before the concert

    - the guitars were "polished"

  10. Guest spots are good, no matter who it is. I'll always welcome that. As much as I'd like to see more guest spots I am really surprised as to the ones that happen. Brandon Boyd? Na fuck it. Chester singing with Incubus? Fuck that too, we'll just bring out Mike Einziger for the last 1/3 of the tour instead. Now they bring out Austin and Aaron, lol, how random.

If I remember correctly it took me only about 40 shows to catch a guest performance lol.
