  1. Here's a thread for some random live facts about Linkin Park. Post any if you know them.

-The intro to the Summer Sanitarium 2003 tour sampled 'Dead Skin Mask' by Slayer.

-The sample Joe plays at Rock im Park's night show of the numbers and letters came from Sid from Slipknot's intro to 'The Heretic Anthem'.

  2. The majorty of fans have probably yet to hear the PMA piano version and same goes with the other intros and outros.

Anyone that went to ANY fucking 2007 show heard Pushing Me Away (Piano Version). They wore that shit out, it was done at every major show.

  3. -Made the Las Vegas 08 (UNLV) show the color red (canceled).

-Fixed Maryland Heights 08 show info.

    - 31.08.2003 Weeze, Germany, Weeze Airport, Terremoto Festival, European Tour ->

31.08.2003 Weeze, Germany, Flughafen Niederrhein, Terremoto Festival, European Tour

-Fixed Portland 01 (Chester section) show info.

-Edited Montpellier 2001 (the show just released on the site) source notes.

    -Edited Hunger Strike Camden notes.

    -Edited Hunger Strike Irvine notes.

    -Edited Mountain View 2007 notes.

-Edited Bamboozle 2007 show notes - added a lot of mistakes.

    -Edited Cleveland 2004 show notes.

-06.08.2001 Portland, ME, Cumberland Country Civic, OFF-FEST -> Cumberland County Civic Center.

-Added Madrid 08 show notes and encore break. [s:1fhc3u16]SOURCES STILL NEED UPDATING.[/s:1fhc3u16]

  4. I really loved Live in Texas so I think they should edit it that way. Or I don't think they should edit the sound the same way, making it false, but I like the whole slow motion thing. Just make sure to not change to image from other songs within a song, it's pretty revealing when all of a sudden Brad is holding a new guitar. Happened ten times a song.

Still, they should mix the sound of the show again, do not use the sound which is all ready released. The only thing I don't like about pooch is: When he edits a show, you can't hear the rythm guitar at all and Brad's guitar dosn't fill your speakers up. I know there are more things than just guitar in LP but everything else seems to be fine. Oh, and Joe could need more volume too.

Okay, for guitars... Go listen to ANY version of Lying From You from pooch. Then listen to Lying From You from Live in Texas: THAT is how it should be mixed, not that low shitty sound. I know it's not like this at the shows, he is a perfect mixer at the show, I've experienced it myself, but the audio releases are pretty bad imo.

And for rythm guitar. Start by listining to the studio version of Pusing me Away: Mike's guitar part is the loudest. Then listen to any of the new Pushing me Away audio releases, you can't hear Mike's part, it's drowned in bass and Brad (cool line eh?!). Or Crawling, any song with Mike on rythm guitar.

Seach for "Linkin Park Live" on youtube and the first video you will find of Faint (The 2003 detroit show) is a great example of how the guitars should be mixed.

    What do you think?

I agree. I like Pooch's work a lot, he is excellent. However, you can easily tell that the 07 and 08 shows are mixed differently. Once the Euro 08 shows started in the Winter, the audio sound changed somehow. Maybe they changed gear? I'm not sure. But listen to a show like Auburn 2007. That is EPIC. One of my favorite LP shows ever. Compare Points Of Authority's intro at that show to any other DSP/live CD from LP. Especially 2008. The low sounding 2008 shows sound much worse. I still love them, but I think something is odd on the mixing.

Live In Texas's audio is GODLY. I wonder how they got it to sound that well. Imagine like you said if the DSPs sound that way - wow. But yes, the live sound from Pooch is 110% perfect...I've never heard a band live that sounds as good as LP...it's absolutely perfect...but the DSPs are a little weird. Not sure what's going on. Auburn started off great, then they started going to the lower sounding mixes. I know exactly what you're talking about because last week I even compared Points from Auburn to other shows, etc.

  5. From Mike over at his blog at http://www.mikeshinoda.com

"Hey everyone. I'm happy to announce that we are putting together a new live CD/DVD for you guys! We recorded the show at Milton Keynes (Projekt Rev, UK), and we will be releasing it in a DVD/CD combo pack as soon as we can get it done.

However, we're having trouble naming the album...so we want you to name it!

Please help out by spreading the word. We want as many fans as possible to go to THIS THREAD on the linkinpark.com message boards, and pitch in on the discussion. After we get some titles we like, we'll put them up for everyone to vote on.

Please help us name the new live CD/DVD!

Name it here: (You must be 18 or older to name it).

    -mike and LP"

  6. No excuse for LP to not make Chester sit in a chair on stage and do an all acoustic setlist. Possibly throw in a few regular versions like Shadow and have Kurt do Chester's part. BTH piano, PMA piano, HHH piano, WID acoustic, SOTD, PMA acoustic, ITE acoustic, Crawling acoustic, My December piano, and figure out the acoustic versions to a good number of other songs. Cover a song. Show Me full piano version. Figure something out. In Between. Little Things can be done. Grab a guest friend from another band that's chilling in LA and have them come help. Better reason to switch things up.

Phoenix said it's possible to do it now with all their slow songs that have the capability to be done acoustically.

    Do it {SMILIES_PATH}/icon_e_biggrin.gif

  7. This is crazy! I wonder if they will make this show up after Asia, or even if LP will perform all the Asian shows.

Poor LP, lol. Chester gets sick on the US winter tour, Brad gets sick on the European summer tour, Chester gets his back hurt for the last run of shows of MTM. Wow.

Fly the winner to Asia? lolol.

  8. Guess what? Time for the next Linkin Park show, which means time for the next pre-show writeup! Our favorite band will be playing at the Hard Rock Hotel's Joint in Las Vegas, Nevada on October 6th. This is a one-off show for the band, who wrapped up their last major tour in support of Minutes To Midnight, Projekt Revolution 2008, last month in Woodlands, Texas. This concert is for the winner of the LPConcerts.com (the site and it's parent, Verizon, that refuse to acknowledge LPLive.net) Remix Contest - Valerie from the University of Las Vegas. Linkin Park agreed to fly out to The Joint @ The Hard Rock Hotel in the city and play the show for the University's students only.

Setlist-wise, what can we expect for this one? Set X (One Step Closer), Y (What I've Done), or Z (No More Sorrow) from Projekt Revolution? Pooch hinted that it would be a "full show", but I wouldn't be surprised if they just stuck with about 15 songs. Set Y ended the tour last month, so maybe they will play Set Z. Noone is really sure, but stick around because Valerie, the winner, actually will be texting LPLive the setlist as soon as the show as over!

The band will beginning its last tour of any shape or form for Minutes To Midnight, The Music For Relief Asian Benefit Tour, in just a few days, kicking off a five show run in Shanghai, China on October 12th. Stay tuned, a tour preview will be coming shortly.

For those of you who want something to "spice it up a little bit", do you remember what was supposedly the "earliest" interview video of the band? Yeah, the Metal Machine video from New York City in 2000, right? Yep, but it seems this might be the second earliest interview out there - from just a little later on that year. LPU'er "highlandpark" threw the links to this interview up the other day, so I thought I'd share it with all the LPLive'ers out there. It's supposedly from November 25th, 2000, which would make it from this tour date: "25.11.2000 Sioux City, IA". Anyway, Mike and Chester are in an elevator doing the interview, so check it out. How incredibly badass is Mike's hair!?

  9. People on the LPU are saying HHH acapella from Milton Keynes. I don't really see how it's the best. HHH over WID intro at Edgefest was much better IMO. I just hate the Milton Keynes show with a passion for some reason.

because they didnt played RME :D

That and because they didn't even play that well IMO. Fuck Milton Keynes. Everyone that went to that show acts like it's the best thing to grace the Earth when in reality it's just like every other LP show. It wasn't cool when Jay-Z came out because it wasn't a surprise like MSG was. Where's the fun in that?

    AMEN.

Milton Keynes is the worst show LP has done in many many years. That was terrible. No surprise, setlist sucked, crowd sucked, LP was bad.

Edgefest is GODLY. How can HHH MK even compare to HHH Edgefest? Edgefest was damn epic.

  10. Things for someone to update (when I'm not lazy):

    - 31.08.2003 Weeze, Germany, Weeze Airport, Terremoto Festival, European Tour ->

31.08.2003 Weeze, Germany, Flughafen Niederrhein, Terremoto Festival, European Tour

-Chester came in late on hunger strike in camden

-Add hunger strike proshot woodlands source

-chaz/cornell's kids out on hunger strike irvine

-SOTD loop messup at mountain view 2007

    -numb intro bamboozle fuckup

    -numb intro cleveland 04 fuckup

-06.08.2001 Portland, ME, Cumberland Country Civic, OFF-FEST -> Cumberland County Civic Center

  11. Seems I fucked up the entire European Tour with the 2 encore thing.

Would you count a show like Dublin as having 2 encores? It was scheduled on the setlists, etc, but as you know from the LPTV video, as soon as BTH ended, Brad started APFMH.

How do you judge and/or draw the line between 2 encores? Is it when the entire band goes off stage and comes back? Because at PR, the 2nd encore was only about 55-60 seconds long before they came back.

  12. Edited 2003 page.

11.10.2003 Sydney, NSW, Australia, Moore Park, Livid Festival, Australia and Asia Tour

12.10.2003 Melbourne, VIC, Australia, Rod Laver Arena, Livid Festival, Australia and Asia Tour

Added Livid Festival to the names. Went researching and found out that the Sydney show was 3km from the city, but wasn't exactly in an "exact" suburb...it's between 2, and all reviews said Sydney, etc, so I'll just leave it at that since it's really close to the city. It's not an entirely different town or anything, it's like in Moore Park, which is the equivalent of the area called Lakewood but is really Atlanta, etc.

Melbourne was extremely cold so they moved the show indoors from Melbourne Park to Rod Laver Arena. This happened on Oct 3rd, right before the show. Venue name is now corrected. Couldn't find a single damn review that mentioned the setlists, but I read one comment on a site that "LP was great but performing SIB at the end was kinda odd." No idea about that. Still no setlists, but at least the venue name is correct.

  13. basically MK was just one huge stage in a very huge field with LP JZ and others.

    with a very boring setlist.

all that hype for nuttin... but then again we cant say anything if we werent there but mehhh

right. worst LP show since Live 8. they hardly ever have bad shows, but the setlist was absolutely terrible. you dropped Reading My Eyes! Pushing piano instead of RME! swapping FTI and LFY, what on earth, and HHH acapella. Wow. Then you do CC songs live for the first and probably/possibly the only time out of the USA, and you do the exact same 2 you did at MSG.

    lol ORIGINAL.

Imagine how nice this set would've been:

    01. No More Sorrow

    02. Somewhere I Belong

    03. From The Inside

    04. Papercut

    05. Wake 2.0

    06. Given Up

    07. Reading My Eyes

    08. In Pieces

    09. Shadow Of The Day

    10. Valentine's Day

    11. Pushing Me Away

    12. Breaking The Habit

    13. Crawling

    14. A Place For My Head

    ------------------------------

    15. Cure For The Itch

    16. What I've Done (w/long intro)

    ------------------------------

    17. Dirt Off Your Shoulder/Lying From You

    18. Big Pimpin'/Papercut

    19. Jigga What/Faint

    20. Numb/Encore

    21. Izzo/In The End

    22. Points Of Authority/99 Problems/One Step Closer

...and then release it on a DVD :)

  14. Well they wore out everything from MTM this cycle, so they should drop all the songs that aren't singles and not No More Sorrow / Given Up.

Just like with HT and Meteora, drop the non-singles.

Drop Wake, Hands Held High, Valentine's Day, In Between, In Pieces, and The Little Things Give You Away. Keep No More Sorrow, Given Up, Shadow Of The Day, What I've Done, and Bleed It Out in every setlist. Alternate Leave Out All The Rest. You can possibly alternate 1 or 2 of the others that I said to keep too, but oh well.

Then they need to drop some other stuff. Don't Stay and From The Inside are worn out. Pushing (Piano) is worn out absolutely also. PLEASE GET RID OF NUMB AND SOMEWHERE I BELONG. Those songs make you cringe when you hear them live now since they have done them seriously every show since they were introduced into the setlist (SIB at the first 2003 show; Numb at the first Sanitarium 03 show).

I'd like to see some kind of alteration between In The End, Crawling, and Breaking The Habit. Maybe keep Crawling every show because that just rips through you, and it's really good, but I guess you could say the same for BTH and ITE since they are LP "anthems". Numb is an anthem and it's worn out, so why not alternate the others. You've all heard them if you've seen LP live, so I say just put 1 in each setlist. BTH in Set 1, ITE in Set 2, Crawling in Set 3.

Go and either keep the 3 setlist rotation format with HUGE differences (not just a 2 song difference and a swapped up order) or actually change it every night. I'd love to see them change it every night, rotating in and out songs like With You, Runaway, A Place For My Head, By Myself, And One, Step Up, etc. Rotate in Easier To Run, Hit The Floor, Figure.09, Session. Play a mix of every album. Fuck that setlist up every night with a ton of random songs, not just all singles. Only play a few singles, and play a ton of other less unknown songs. It'd make for some sweet shows, and DSP/live CD collecting would be so much better. Shit, even jam out on some stuff like how they did for In Yourself. LP has so much potential live.

    /my 2 cents

  15. Let's make a thread of I spy Mark Fiore {SMILIES_PATH}/icon_razz.gif

Why? Because I'm bored. He's all over the place, lol.

Dusseldorf 2008 - filming Joe on CFTI

    Filming LP overseas somewhere O_o

    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QuD1TdSVJhM

Rock am Ring 04 - Don't Stay, 3:17 he walks right behind Mike; 3:24 directly on stage; 3:36 right behind Chester

Don't have a YouTube link, but Wantagh 08 DVD - right side of stage behind Chester on the OSC outro.

  16. Main issue we're facing here people is the debate of what style to use.

    php, flash, html, what.

We want to be able to have the same type of site we had with 3.0 except much, much better, and it's very conflicting with the staff on what to use to accomplish this and how we're going to do it. Once we can get a solid layout built, adding the info will come very very quickly. Hard to decide on what we're going to use.

Organizational things are being taken care of now. I'd like to get up off our asses and get this thing rolling before November so we can break something out around New Years.

  17. I'll send you a massive email tonight, so you should have quite a bit of information in that.

I'll get as many Cornell setlists as possible, etc and also a link to the 3.0 material. Thanks and nice work as always. CB and JK sections are looking great {SMILIES_PATH}/icon_e_smile.gif

Sorry we never see you all the time but that's ok because you're doing a good job.

  18. For those who don't know, the Taipei show last year had over 40,000 in attendance. This is the 2nd largest LP show ever I think, only to Sao Paulo 2004. It can be argued that LP had more fans at like Rock am Ring, Rock im Park, Download, some other festivals, etc, but those are festivals with a lot of bands, and LP is simply headlining. However, since all those people decided to stay for LP, I guess you could count that as an LP attendance.

Wherever their attendance records stand...Sao Paulo 04, all the international 2003, 2004, 2007, and 2008 festival shows/shows in countries that hardly get LP shows like Kuala Lumpur, Taiwan is definitely one that ranks in the top percentage.

I'd like to see a list of the top like, 10 LP shows as far as attendance goes. Maybe that's a project I can work on this fall for you guys if anyone's interested.

  19. Ran across this on the LPMB / LPUMB, so I thought I'd be nice and share. Check it out. Asian tour preview and Las Vegas pre-show writeup coming within the next few days.

    From September 22nd:

"My name is Jamie Lan, one of the 150 fans from Taiwan who started waiting at the soccer stadium 6 weeks ago for the concert of Linkin Park. I wanna share our story with all the Linkin Park fans in the world."
