  1. I actually really liked the leave out all the rest demo. Because of that it's a demo and not the final version - because it might sound embarrassing, i like listening to stuff like that because its special and gives an insight of the progress of the songs.

Oh, I do agree but I just think the vocals could have been dropped at that point - not the whole song. I understand the appeal though, but for me, that doesn't have much replay value.

  2. I'm glad they're instrumentals. As much as I appreciate the effort last time, Mike's "rap" on the Leave Out All the Rest demo was kinda embarrassing. I wished that would have just been a instrumental part. And all the bitching - did we not like "Cure for the Itch", "Session" or "A.06"? At least they are full instrumentals and not "Hybrid Theory demos" that turned out to be pretty much 30 second clips. I can't wait till everyone is talking about how awesome "instrumental whatever" is in like the next 2 days.

And instrumentals are new songs! If you have not heard that music before, it's new, vocals or not!

    $20 LPUX CD + A monthly membershit...

what do you think guys ? i think is better wait for eBay :D

I think $10 for a CD is fine and think of the monthly pass as a extra $10 for good seats. Trust me, I've got more than a few gripes with the LPU now, but I don't think that's unreasonable. The CD is gonna get you ripped off if you buy it on eBay.

  3. I know it's not really on topic, but I encourage all of you to test your LPU access at the very bottom of linkinpark.com so there's no problems with the pre-sale. I just had a slight slip-up. If the tickets were actually on sale, I'd probably just have screwed myself.

  4. forget binary lol

  5. I'm really confused. I got the e-mail, but I was in my LPU mail. I went to redeem it and then I had to connect it to another network and that my e-mail (the LPU one) was invalid. So I chose GMail. It said it worked, but I don't see anything on my current account that lets me know if I actually am an LPUX member.

  6. takes a while for emails to roll out. could be a few hours before EVERYONE has them. be patient. keep an eye on http://lpu.linkinpark.com. When that page changes over, emails will start rolling out.

Should we expect the e-mails to come to the address we signed up with? My LPU Mail is littered with spam, so I hope it's not in there...somewhere.

  7. Could you guys stop doing this? Stop asking them to do these songs or those songs, please. There are plenty of new songs. This makes me sick.

They've given the new album a near full performance on this tour. 30 seconds for a small bit of an old song makes you sick? Come on, man.

Somebody issue a diva alert for Chazzy Chaz. Teamwork is great, but a 5-1 vote shouldn't go in Chester's favor, especially when the request comes from a LPU/Street Team/Fan site member.

Great job with the RME history lesson, Hahninator :)

In most cases, I'd agree with you, but Chester had no creative process in that song. I think it's somewhat understandable that he'd not want to play it. On the other hand, he seems like he doesn't want to play anything old (didn't Mike say he's down but "some members" object?). He did also cut into LPs encore with DBS. But I'm in nitpicking territory now.

Kudos for any nod to old songs and Mike's willingness to shake things up.

I just imagined Chester singing/rapping the first verse and then screaming the chorus of Blackout after BIO bridge. It sounded good in my mind.

    This should happen.

  8. Trust me, I haven't agreed with LP on a lot of things, but I think if they didn't like HT, they wouldn't have launched into APFMH, unrehearsed, the other night.

I think of what they could have done to celebrate. Going into a 10 year old album on a world tour for your new album seems insane. A re-released wouldn't make much sense, we've got In The End Live and Rare to cover the b-sides, the HT EP and a shitload of early demos (not that they released them to us, but they know we've got them). They released some stuff on LPU9 and probably have more coming on LPUX. I can't think of anything else.

  9. In Studio mainly CUBASE 5. and when i am at my small studio i use Abelton Live 8. Both works great with M-Audio Key Rig 49. :)

I used Sonar 7 once to track guitars and without using it before, I was comfortable and getting good sounds within minutes. Abelton, on the other hand, I've had a hard time getting the hang of for whatever reason.

  10. Better the Making of DVD. He use great alternative for the whole equalizer system. I will get that stuff soon and make my own A Thousand Suns.

    But i dont use Pro-Tools :(

Pro Tools isn't the end all be all. It's the industry standard, but it's just a fancy version of other DAWs. What do you use?

  11. I don't have any fears about the multitracks being cracked. The Beatles Rock Band was cracked and had crazy encryption. Granted, it took over a year to crack, but it was done.

Was was this not included in the post, though?

"...three Linkin Park hits are also set to receive the exclusive DJ Hero remix treatment as downloadable content this winter for DJ Hero 2."

  12. That picture's pretty rad because I believe it gives the BPM (ex. NUMB110-scratch) for each song as well. Also, there's things specifically listed as "Video", so it seems that Joe may have some control over the screens. I thought he'd just have to be in sync with the video.

There's also a set list that ends with "OQ Date". Maybe it's "KROQ Date" and has the Breakfast with LP set list? I wonder if there's an "NYC Set" after that we just can't see. It also looks like there's another one that ends with "Videos...", towards the top.

Very interesting stuff for just one picture.

  13. Highly doubt it. He's always at rehearsals lol. Projekt Revolution 2007, Winter 2008, Summer 2008, Summer 2009, 2010 promo, 2010 World Tour.

Just thinking out loud - I wasn't aware it was a common occurrence!

Oops... I forgot to mention The Messenger... LOL

And I hope they play Wisdom, Justice, and Love then proceed to Iridescent...

I hope not. The transition from Numb to Iridescent worked really well and if they're going to play Numb (and I feel very confident they'll keep that one on), they should stick to this.

  14. It's all wishful thinking but Pooch at Rehearsals? Maybe we'll have a few more Third Encore Sessions?

As far as old songs, please bring back the album version of Pushing Me Away if it's going to be played. I feel like Nobody's Listening could work well alongside Wretches and Kings and maybe the sound of the new songs could influence the choice of the old songs played.

I'm not holding my breath for anything crazy, though and expect singles heavy setlists.

  15. Reanimation part 2??? and this sounds awesome.

I've been thinking a bunch about Reanimation recently and how much some of the rhymes on that album just don't fit with the theme of the songs and make it awful. For example, "Runaway" is amazing, then it's like, "let me rap how cool I am over this" and just fucks thing up. "Papercut" is a good example of how it should be. A Thousand Suns seems like an even worse album to try and do that with. If they're going to remix stuff, it's gotta be approached differently. I think the King Fantastic remix is awful and it's just a re-hash of this shit. "Wretches" actually makes sense because it has that feel to it. I feel this remix is going to feel a lot more natural.

I didn't even think about it earlier, but there's 4 official remixes now - 3 being for "The Catalyst". I think it's overkill to have so many remixes of the same song (especially two by the same band? Come on.) That isn't fair to those who entered the remix contest. Weren't the top 20 supposed to be considered for this stuff?

  16. is it gunna be a complete remix? or just them looping the beat and spittin over it? cuz i picture them just ryhming over it more than actual remix work

I'd imagine that if LP commissioned the remix, they'd provide stems or at least an instrumental. It's quite possible it could just be a loop though.

For anyone who missed it or hasn't seen Mike's formspring yet, here's a quote: "We've been sending songs out to some amazing remixers lately. The first one came from Does It Offend You, Yeah?".

It's kinda cool they're open to remixes again, but honestly, I'd prefer older material. I understand wanting to shy away from that for a while though after Reanimation. I just don't know if these songs lend themselves to being remixed as well.

  17.

Cool. We're gonna have two professional remixes from A Thousand Suns now!

The first is? Haven't heard, sorry. GBC Remix will be sweet I bet.

The Catalyst ("Bobby Bloomfield" DIOYY? Remix) is by Rob Bloomfield from Does It Offend You, Yeah?, hence the name of the remix. Though if you don't know the band, the name probably seems like nonsense.
