  1. Woha, I will be at the live debut of this song -> Rock in Rio =D=D=D=D=D

PS: Reminds me of Sum 41

I assume they would debut it at their next show!

I think GATS might be their new set closer.

I feel like its a perfect set opener, not closer.

That Intro would do wonders for starting off a concert!

  2. yall need to open up your minds lol.

That rap verse was just straight up NASTY. I wish i could have heard it better but eff... I have a feeling the entire album is going to be produce like this and i absolutely love it! This is the punk influence seeping in. LP lost me at LT, i took a little hiatus, but i already know im going to love this album.

Also, seems like they used very minimal vocal effects, maybe a little melodyne here or there but this is going to be a rough album. Welcome back LP.

This. and expand your horizons! The Rap verse was definitely insane! Plus Rakim is a legend!
  3. I like it and I think it'll grow on me too. I felt, after the intro build up that Chester's vocals were a little anti climatic and I'm glad I'm not the only one disappointed in them but overall I'm excited for the album.

I would love to hear this live! I'm not sure of the odd of that for Download Fest though ;)

Has this been confirmed as the first single from the album or just a collaboration song and it's not going to be on the album? My initial thought was it was going to be just for Transformers and appear on the movie soundtrack rather than the new album. I wouldn't have thought they'd put collaborations on a studio album.

Its been confirmed to be the first single of the album.

They may have thought that before but they could change their minds on what they think.

  4. The actual guitar playing was very nice in the song, but the production quality was horrible IMO. The guitars sound nowhere near as nice as the ones heard on their first 3 albums and this mix sounds like something we'd get on an LPU CD or something. Not only that but the vocals just weren't performed well and the lyrics weren't really LP quality either. It just needed better production in general.

Now I feel stupid for being disappointed with BID when it came out

I believe its mixed that way on purpose. Its mixed that way to have more of a raw feeling
  5. Most legendary emcee to ever guest on an LP song, including Jay-Z.

That said, my first two thoughts:

    1. How are they going to play this live? Just completely cut Rakim's part out of the song? I hate this about collaborations with outside vocalists on studio albums, it either means you end up using playback of their vocals for live performances, which comes across as super lame, or you end up cutting big chunks out of songs, which is about equally lame.

    2. Great, a guest rapper on a "regular LP album" single. Now people are going to think Mike quit the band again.

Song is overall pretty cool, still not a big fan of the intro but once that piano part comes in, the rest all sounds good. I think the song could honestly just start with the piano and leave that first bit out, but that's just me. Production seems extremely raw...I know this is going to be a self-produced album, but this is bordering on "sounds like a rough demo recorded at a home studio" territory. Also, Chester doesn't really sound like...himself.

Also, parts of this remind me a LOT of the Beta State song on LPU 13.

    Mike can rap it
  6. That's a nice short interview!

It's not that surprising to hear that Brad hasn't been wanting to play guitar lately. It comes through in the music a lot since it's had a minimal presence lately. I'm really glad to hear that Mike inspired him to play again. I'm also very excited to hear that Mike wanted to tap into a more energetic rock sound for this album. This might shape up to be a "return to form" that a lot of older fans have been clamoring for!

    Still staying cautiously optimistic though...

Honestly it'll be a little different but it does sound like that.

I'm ok with that though. I like heavy LP. It could also be Heavy without being Nu metal. We will have to wait and see

  7. Just checking twitter accounts and i'm surprised about BBC Radio 1, usually when LP is about to release a lead Single they have the first play or exclusive interviews, looks like this is not the time.

What do you think guys? UK members?

Probably just keeping it a secret until tomorrow when the band announces it
  8. I hope it's the single being released, just bam right off the bat, it's sent to radio and it's on iTunes, with a music video on YouTube. Do it big, fuck it let's jam. Start it off right.

    That'd be great.

The album isn't done yet, only 70-80% done as Mike said, so I wouldn't expect a release date or anything.

I can dig it! That would be amazing, go full blast!

I think they could still have a month release (just not actual day) even if the album isn't finished.

I think 80% done means that they finished pretty much everything besides mixing/mastering.

Hmm, didn't think about this. Could be so!

    You're probably right. :)

So here's an educated guess. Tomorrow will be pretty much just a single name and release date. Possibly an album title and release date too. I highly doubt the single will be played (a 30 second clip if we're lucky) BUT, if it does... My bet is that Zane Lowe will play it on BBC Radio 1 at 7pm-ish UK time. If that's the case, they will play it and then LPU members might get a free download of the song or something via email 2 minutes after the song finishes on radio.

I think they will release the single tomorrow
  9. I am pretty sure that ''the new music'' is referring to Linkin Park. Steve Aoki has no association with Linkin Park as a band.

I said the same thing when they said a guest would be on LIVING THINGS, but it ended up being Owen Pallet and I liked it. I won't care as long as it isn't guest vocals on a LP song, that'd be atrocious.

I disagree. Jared Leto and Kendrick Lamar would both be fire on a Linkin Park song! Now if they were both featured on the same song. :wheeeeeeeew:

    That'd be too raw

Who the fuck said something about a single on thursday? :| Something is happening doesn't mean it's a single lol don't confuse people at this stage :P IT can be album title announcement with the release date. MARK MY WORDS :P

Most logical answer is single. They wouldn't have released the preview otherwise.

    I think it'll be single+Album Ttile personally

  10. I got tickets for The September 10th Show in Arizona!

Cost me $91 but totally worth it!!!! First time Ever seeing LP!!!!

    After all these years, finally!!

I had to miss them in 2012 unfortunately so Im very happy right now!!!!

Im in Section 115 which is a good section. Close to the side of the stage and on first level :)

    Gonna be amazing!

    Time to Update my signature!

    Buffalo, Houston, Phoenix

those are the 3 possible summit places, they sell no M&G or side stage for these. All 3 have a day off before the show for possible MFR activity.

For some reason Phoenix is an arena show.

EDIT: wow Darien Lake Performing Arts Center is part of an amusement park

Yep, Darien Lake amusement park. Its a smaller amusement park compared to most but still. And Regarding Arizona, the biggest venues are Arenas. Comerica Theater comes close but I think US Airways Center and Jobbing.com arena are bigger
  11. Well I haven't heard good things from people who've been to recent show, and I'm not a huge fan of their music. I've listened casually, but I've never felt the need to listen to a whole album. Plus it's just annoying that because they're on the bill they'll be hiking up the ticket price.

    I understand.

For me, however, This is perfect. Three bands I like. Well 2, and 1 I used to like (AFI). I know it will be expensive but it will be worth it!

  12. Are you kidding me? Mars has never even done a USA amphitheatre tour LOL. The only legit huge venue they've played in the USA is the Hollywood Bowl and that's because it's LA - any large band can do really well there. I believe in 2011 they did play Camden and like one other good amphitheatre but that's it. LP has been doing this for 10 years. No chance 30STM co-headlines.

Well, personally If I was 30stm id say no if I was asked to co-headline with Linkin Park :kanyeshrug:
