update We're excited to hit the road again this summer. Our first announced tour date of 2012 is Rock am Ring in Nürburg, Germany this June. It will be our first time playing the festival in 5 years, and we're glad to be back. Keep checking LinkinPark.com for more announcements. This is just the first of many. -Chester

Hello SDS members! As we promised here is the 2004 demo of "Everyone Knows". I thought this time I would tell you the backstory on this track. This was the first song Julien-K (which was just Ryan and myself at the time) wrote towards making our debut. The next two songs we would write were "Someday Soon" & Kick the Bass. After writing those last two songs we decided they were the defining direction of the band and "Everyone Knows" just got put on the back burner. We never worked on it again, and after completing the album we just never felt that it fit in. So there you have the story and now you have the track in it's original demo form, untouched since we created it back in 2004. Get your copy of the SDS Sessions V.1 Vinyl E.P. you read it on the posters already: The new album is available for pre-orders now. You can go and pre-order the album on either amazon or iTunes now... About iTunes: The album is already available in most stores, like Germany, France, Czech Republic, Spain or many, many more - but some stores did not update their files yet - due to timezones or pure lazyness (hahaha- just a joke), so all iTunes stores will be available soon... Best thing about this is - you can actually prelisten extra long pre-listens of each song... Enjoy... About amazon: the CD is only available at the German store now. This has to do with amazon regulations, we are trying to solve right now. More stores will follow very soon. Promissed. The CD ships worldwide, so you can pre-order now, or wait until the album is available at your own store later. This will have in perticular effect on the shipping costs. Please keep in mind that we ship the CDs on January 21th for delivery on January 23rd... Here is a link for the store, so you can check it out - and pre-order if you wish... TO PREORDER AT THE GERMAN AMAZON, CLICK HERE!!! Update 26/11/11 Free Download of BREAKFAST IN BERLIN Last - but definately not least, here is my third mail for today: From the band straight to you!!! Love,D. We wanted to give our fans and friends a teaser from our upcoming album "We're Here With You" coming out worldwide Jan 23. "Breakfast In Berlin" is a one of our favorite dark, dancy, dirty "vibe" tracks; we're giving it away in advance of the release to give fans a taste of the new record. Enjoy! JK CLICK HERE TO DOWNLOAD BREAKFAST IN BERLIN!!! to preview the album on iTunes change your store to German On iTunes Store, when you scroll to the bottom right you should see a flag

Ryan & Amir have each have a special gift to offer to 2 lucky winners from the LA area Systeme de Street team for help in promoting the upcoming Hollywood show. They each want to give you one of their custom guitar amps that were used on the Projekt Revolution tour! These will be fully loaded with THEIR Julien-K tones. So what’s the contest? You tell us! . . . What would you be willing to do to help promote their record release show on January 21 and win a guitar amp? Don’t worry. There will be more contests coming up for our fans outside of that area. Julien-K source here

Linkin Park's Mike Shinoda says the band are always working on new material and fans should not have to wait too long for band's new album. Mike Shinoda says fans won't have to wait too long for the next Linkin Park album. The musician revealed the 'Shadow of the Day' group are constantly writing new material for their follow up to 'A Thousand Suns' and as he has recently been busy writing the score for Indonesian film 'The Raid', he concedes it could affect the sound of the group. He said: "We are always writing. I'm not sure how my participation on The Raid might affect the next Linkin Park album . we'll have to wait and see. Hopefully, the wait won't be too long." One way in which the new Linkin Park sound could be affected is by the lack of electric guitars used in the movie's soundtrack. Mike told ArtistDirect.com: One of the things that I decided to do early on was essentially abandon the use of electric guitars in this score. Guitars seemed to take it in a mookish, ostentatious direction, which is not the tone of this film. But there are moments when the score wanted to get super heavy, so I achieved it by making my own super-distorted percussive and melodic sounds. I also enlisted the help of Joe Trapanese, who was Daft Punk's scoring partner on 'Tron: Legacy'. He's from a composer / arranger background, and we played off each other's ideas really well." Ryans message about the "SDS Sessions V.1 Vinyl" RYAN SHUCK speaks.... Here is a little blurb from Ryan about the new Vinyl E.P: While we were in the EU on tour this summer, we started playing the remixed versions of some of our favorite songs LIVE. After about 15 shows, the song began to change and become something entirely different - almost a "Night Version" - or a completely new song based on the original. After many requests, we decided to record these new versions in Hamburg, at Clouds Hill Studios (thanks to our good friend Johann). To give it a really live feel – to really capture what we were doing onstage – we decided to offer a very limited amount of tickets to our core group of fans. We thought this would give us a bit of the "nervousness" that comes with playing live, and would be a cool way to include and thank our SDS members. We recorded the songs in a few takes, playing all the way through, with our SDS members in the room. Really fun. Recorded on vintage gear, straight to tape. Old school recording for a modern electro band. We really wanted to see if we could pull it off. Mistakes and all – we left everything in. We decided to make this release a special VERY limited edition EP on vinyl, intended mainly for our core fans. The EP will of course come with a digital download code w purchase. We are mixing the record as I type, and we are looking forward to more experiments like this one – record and release within a matter of months, direct to our fans. To make the EP extra special, we decided to record and include our fan favorite new song Dregs of the World, which has only been heard live thus far. While in Berlin we befriended quite a few amazing up and coming artists. We asked one of our favorites Amrei to create an original piece for our album cover, and to design the packaging, etc. (BTW – you can see Amrei's work in this months French Vogue). http://www.verticospuppets.com/ http://gallery.mailchimp.com/a34e179860832...nk_cover_01.jpg Pre-orders have already begun – get yours while they are still available. This will absolutely sell out and become a very special collectors item. R
