Daron on bass? Sounds strange

If I recall correctly (and there's a decent chance that I don't), during the recording of Mezmerize/Hypnotize, Daron was really unhappy with Shavo's (bassist of System of a Down) bass parts, so he just re-recorded them himself. I'll try to find something more substantial than this, but it could be a bass part.

I thought it was okay, nothing special. But as always, I'll give it a few more listens. First time hearing a song is always weird.

What, that the 10 seconds of guitar didn't sound too interesting? Yes. I was bothered. But I won't read too much into it until the full song is out and I've had multiple listens.

Lol it bothers you enough to make a thread about it? Is 30STM or Fall Out Boy in a disney movie or in a commercial or something? This is a LP forum.

I actually assumed it was a shot at OneRepublic, but I'm probably reading too much into it, and I actually like "Disney Commercial Music", so I don't even mind lol.

I think this "full sets from all bands" thing was poorly worded or is being poorly interpreted. Most likely, I think that each band will play sets on this tour that are about as long as what they're playing now. So AFI will get an hour, Mars will get an hour-hour 15, and LP will do a 105 minute set. Which is fine. I voted for 21 songs, but as long as they play for the same amount of time as they usually have, number of songs isn't too important to me.

It must be rumor, not only because "artists like" phrase, but because JustInGayBar is in jail, he wouldn't be able to play a show.

Come on, I don't like Bieber either but really no need to use "gay" as an insult.

I don't even think it's solid enough to be a rumor. I'm fluent in Spanish and I read it as "artist as big as" Justin Bieber, Beyonce, and Linkin Park will appear at this concert etc...

I wonder if this was the "Big USA announcement" since they're hyping it up a lot. Pretty lame if true, we already knew this was coming.

I think LP will definitely be playing last. Incubus also had the same set length as LP, I believe, and they always played before LP. I think AFI will open this up, then 30STM and then LP, just judging by the conversation with Nikki Sixx.

I want to say Jared said something like "the hour or so that we play before Linkin Park" when he was busy taking every single question during the press conference.

I think he was referring to the Afrojack vs. MARS thing for Do Or Die, I don't see anything recently about a huge U.S. announcement on his personal Twitter or the 30STM Twitter.

I imagine if there was a summit during the Carnivores Tour it would stay exclusive to LPU members, I don't believe on the Honda Civic Tour any special benefits were given through Incubus' or Mutemath's fanclubs.

I agree, but Jared has been teasing a "huge" US announcement on Twitter. I wonder if it'll be some type of Echelon summit, and if so, if it'll be the same day as the LP one.

This particular map wasn't "who is the state's favorite artist". It's more a question of which artist has the most notable statistical deviation from the the mean. Which means that compared to a lot of states, Arizonans listen to a lot more Linkin Park than usual. But Linkin Park isn't the most popular band/artist in the state.

Wow lol. Already liked this a lot better on my second listen, with headphones on instead of blasting through my iPhone speakers.

Personally, I felt like Chester's voice felt a little shot like it does at some concerts. Also, I just didn't really like it. But I don't really believing in forming opinions on the first listen. We'll see if I grow to like it.

Don't think this one has been posted yet. Mike talked a little about there not being much choices in rock music, and that he finds it tame, and wanted to make an album that is different. He said the album would be "pushing the envelope", but then again I feel like he always says that in album hype cycles.

LOL. Might be. I have to see what days my fiancee can get off of work first. I'll know what sure what shows I can go to by the end of the day. Though plans would change if there is another summit this tour.

Could be going to anywhere from 2 to 9 shows. I'm pumped!

30STM actually started getting some mainstream play with thdir new album, Up In The Air and City Of Angels are quite big.

 

I'm not sure how these thibgs are decided; are they decided based on overall popularity, or in perspective to how popular the headliner is?

Idk, I'm pretty sure the bands' management teams decide this, but it can be weird. I'm a big 311 fan, but I saw their tour 4 years ago where The Offspring opened for them. That seemed very strange.

This is all but confirmed, which I assume will happen this week.

 

Anyone wanna take a guess at ticket prices? I'm definitely going to Houston, but I have a feel the tickets are going to be too much for me to go to another show this year.

$60 lawn to $120 pit plus service fees seems like where they will be. I'm pretty sure I'll be going to the Houston show, which will be my first show in that area. Hope it's a special one.
