Big thumbs up! Wasn’t expecting an hour set, so that was totally awesome. Felt the band gelled well and were firing on all cylinders. I’m new to Emily Armstrong (but will check out Dead Sara) so had no preconceptions about what she’d sound like. She did a great job and made it her own. Strong vocal, sounds like she has good range for keeping up with old songs. Her ‘singing’ voice is top. Only ‘criticism’ I’d have is that she could dial back the harsher vocals in places on the older songs where it doesn’t need quite so much emphasis, but for all I know that’s her style. Key takeaway is that this is show 1, as she settles in live, imagine what show 10, 50, 100 will sound like. I agree with comment above re comparison to Rob and John Deacon. ‘Distancing himself’ from the band doesn’t necessarily mean bad blood, could just be finishing that chapter of his life and moving on to the next thing. All in all, looking forward to what comes next. New track is a brilliant introduction to new sound, the band are very good at that - WID, Catalyst, BID, GATS, Heavy… they all did that. Roll on Nov 15! — just been on YouTube. The AI covers putting Chester vocals on TEM have already started cropping up. One published 7 hours ago… that’s within an hour of it being released 😒

While it’s a surprise to have gone with an extended reveal, ultimately the news will come out, whether it’s a leak or on 5/9. I’m not losing sleep over it.

Why would a new singer have to be someone known? An complete unknown could make their mark without the preconceptions from people of I do/don’t like them/ their music

I could see a nice tribute being… Lights fade to black. A spotlight shines down on a mic stand centre stage. Band play through to chorus of Numb in darkness, with crowd choir. Lights up and vocalist joins from second verse. Crowd sings bridge. Full band close.

Whatever direction they take, so long as they’re happy, that’s all that matters. Continue as a five-piece, good for them. New direction and new takes on legacy music with a female vocalist, good for them. Bringing in a male vocalist, no doubt it’s big shoes to fill, but good for them. Hit a few festivals as a farewell tour, good for them too. Whatever the next chapter is, if it makes them happy, I’m there for it.

Cautiously optimistic. Going to be a long 4 days!

Totally different genre but look at Take That in the UK. They went from a 5 piece, to 4, then back to 5, then 4, now 3. Still go by Take That.

Will be interesting to see if he uploads other concepts to his website at a later date. this artwork is better than the album cover imo

I've always backed their campaigns with a CD purchase ... but £20/$25 shipping to the UK is extortionate. It more than double the cost of the CD. Sorry guys, love ya but that's a little too expensive for my pocket this time.

Things are moving fast with this one, though looking at a couple days ago about the speculation over what 14 could be… seems obvious now that it was omitted from the marketing because QWERTY simply isn’t on Spotify and YouTube to have included in the track run down. Well played to their marketing team keeping quiet and letting the fan base hype itself up.

The artwork makes a lot more sense in the context of the animated version @vikwinchester shared in the other thread.

Should call the album “What We’ve Done”, or something creative. “Greatest Hits”, “The Best of”, “The Hits”, etc are a bit dull!
