it seems like FRIENDLY FIRE a bit different (not much) than the rest of OML tracks. is it because they mix differently? but as Martinez told us, only "Numb/Encore" is new mastering.
yeah, it has the vibe like OML, but it is mixed a differently in my opinion. yeah, N/E is new mastering, as well as ND, but I think he mentioned that FF wasnt mastered before. they either mixed it differently back then or it is a new tweaked mix.
and dude, the last post-chorus part is epic.

Love it, great prechorus, cool bridge, catchy chorus. Drums sound cool when it's their time to shine, same for guitars, they are louder than on some other OML songs. In my perfect little world, this song would be on OML instead of SFN which is my least favorite song, but I know most of you love it, which is good for you gonna give it a spin again and again

How hilarious would it be if QWERTY is their new single after FF?
it should be, shouldn't it? it's supposed to be a single collection, it would be wierd that it wouldn't become a single

I believe that the cover will look better in person, though its not my favourite artwork, I think it has potential to look cool on my vinyl shelf

it's a bit odd but im sure Frank Maddocks has something in his mind. He's the creative vp for WB. look at Mike Shinoda's Already Over art directions. fkin love it.
I hope it does have some meaning behind the colour scheme and everything. AO visuals were great!

THP song is more than likely. There is no other THP song and Friendly Fire is soft song. If they want to balance it with heavy song and satisfy every fan, then they will add THP song as track 14.
it would make sense, and I would appreciate it, but the secrecy regarding that song is wierd. something's different

Snippet is really cool! Looking forward to the full song and to whatever 14 is

You tellling me LINKIN PARK would like to go independent route ?? Just like Paramore?
No idea, just guessing. These things happened with Slipknot, BMTH. They released stuff at the end of their contract. It might be that they could finish the contract as negotiated and the go back to limbo they've been in since Hollywood Bowl.
-
the greatest hits idea might be in progress due to label/record deal obligations? they probably have to release #number of albums in #amount of time and they might want to end that record deal by releasing GH album?

I wonder if theres a coincidence that the name of this topic has the word Horizon.
It's cool that the release of the single is the 23 of this month.
We will have teasers really soon.
Yeah, I was thinking the same earlier today. It might be a hint

Excuse me, what? Cant wait!

It goes both ways, though. People can enjoy what they want and just ignore those who don't? I mean there are 9(!) new versions of AO out now, so go and have fun with them. You now have 1 single version, 5 live versions and 15 remixes of one song to go crazy to. But just spelling that out should emphasize why some people (myself included) just can't anymore. It's the same as with BTH (live) and BID all these years ago (as Mark pointed out).
Also, I find it funny that YouTube comments are now a thing to go by, apparently.Again, "THE CRIMSON CHAPTER" is cool and I loved the live sessions (although 5 is enough to my liking) because both have interesting concepts behind them. But I'm not ovulating just because an artist I like drops ANYTHING "new".
Also also: Shoutout to JZLP: The nu metal hate from back in the days certainly connects us :D. I remember reading on pushmeaway what other artists thought about LP and there was so much bashing, it was hard for a 16 year old hardcore fan.this! agreed

This is getting ridiculous. There is no point in stuff like this. It’s just clutter. I don’t get what Mike is doing anymore.
-
this session was awesome, the only thing missing for me was someone doing vocal harmonies for choruses. however this session was insane regarding the players, such talent!
-
these stems are great, I hope I'll have some free time on my hands so I can do something fun with it. pretty cool gift from Mike
-
The only thing missing is slowed and reverbed version but the FM remix is fine, we're getting something new and I guess Mike's probably warming up for more releases next year
-
I hope he won't tease us for another week, one week is enough
-
it's not that bad, compared to last remixes we got it's the best one tbh
-
didn't he have some problems with his back?
as for age being a reason.. it might be, but go watch Korn live. they go hard in their 50s. so much energy, great live band

new Mike's interview

I finally processed the whole package, it is wonderful. Having LPU demos from the era packed together and lost demos including songs which feel almost finished like FM and MTV. Healing Foot is amazing, it has almost finished feel. I don’t think we will get anything more from the era in the future, as it is the most they could offer (and possibly the most they could find). I am really grateful for that. The Work in progress DVD is so good. Gonna watch that again tomorrow, so much cool stuff.

great interview, Zane is a legend. it was great seeing Brad after a long, long time

TOTALLY AGREE. Right after Chester’s passing I was like “if they continue they should choose someone similar to him, for what is possible, like Oli from BMTH or Sam Carter of Architects so they can play the heavy stuff”. But no ? Fuck no, go wild and if you want to bring a second vocalist do something totally different, bring a female vocalist or someone who sounds nothing like Chester.
Dude I've been saying that for a long time. Bring a female vocalist. Some of them can also do screams very well which would suit the heavier material. And for new stuff go wild full experimental.

Well I dont think that the rushed comments are critical or whiny, it is just not regular for such release in comparison to boxsets for example.
it might be a hint or something
