The question is do the band still has the capability to deliver an album on the same caliber as A Thousand Suns quality? That's the problem right there. If they can make a sequel to that, I'll be more than happy. I don't count The Hunting Party as successor to A Thousand Suns, not even close.

Mike is capable of delivering even better album. The thing os that we dont know what kind of music does he want to create now because he is changing directions every single time.

    Best video since Final Masquerade

Heavy was good imo. Good Goodbye though 💩💩💩💩💩 havent seen worst video and Heard a worst song.

In general LP suck at music videos most of the times lie if the dont have enough budget but tbh i dont care about the music videos. They are not popstars that need to have great videos and a lot of views.

But I agree Fine is really good for their standard.

Yeah I mean at the time in 2007, it was the first LP did something a little different. So a lot of the nu-metal people hated it. But I don’t think they could have predicted what came next with ATS. Hahahaha. And after that LT and OML. MTM is an excellent record. It’s no secret here that it’s my favorite album. It has some heavy songs like GU, NMS and BIO. Has the best vocals Chester ever delivered IMO throughout the record, especially the more slower stuff. He is amazing on LOATR, SOTD, WID, VD, IP and TLTGYA. And his screaming and stuff on GU, NMS, BIO is next level. Mike’s raps on HHH and BIO are some of my favorite ever from him. Brad’s guitar work on MTM is insanely good. He never played like he did on MTM ever again. Rob fucking kills it on so many songs. Especially In Pieces. I love his drumming on that song so much. I told him that personally in Camden 2012’s Summit. He talked to me about In Pieces and how much he loved MTM for a while actually, I was surprised. Dave is actually audible on bass for some songs on MTM. The whole album is amazing. Nothing will ever top it. It defined me as a person until the day I die, too. It was the soundtrack of my later High School years and after. It has helped me so much in life. The tour was also AMAZING.

Off topic but never enough of praising this masterpiece. The only song i dont really get what is doing on this album is In Between its not like i dont like it but its very mediocre comparing to other songs i think.

I also remember stans having a meltdown over new LP clothes. Well fashion changes every season so it was obvious they wont be wearing baggy clothes forever.

Some fans seem to lump MTM with ‘’new LP’’ but it’s really not. They have 7 main albums. MTM is the 3rd out of 7. I would say that ATS is what divides the new and old LP. Even during an interview with Brad in China 2015, he said ‘’Whether people are coming to hear songs off of Hybrid Theory, Meteora, Minutes To Midnight, or the newer stuff, we welcome everyone’’. So even the band regards it as kind of older. MTM even though it wasn’t nu-metal, it still had several heavy rock songs that weren’t too foreign from old LP and even the slower and experimental stuff on the album was still rock, just alt. rock. So during live shows it still mixed really well with Hybrid Theory and Meteora songs. People also love to shit on MTM because it was the first time that the band strayed from nu-metal, but it wasn’t nearly as much of a change as ATS was and onwards. I mean cmon.

Yes i remember shitting on MTM and that the band has changed and there are less screams LMAO then what is given up and no more sorrow.

Also, whoever said "the more underground they go on the next record, the better" - that is not true in my opinion. I think LP needs a very, very quality product with some mainstream appeal to it to keep things rolling for them as a band. They can't have a complete commercial flop on this next album or it is going to affect a wide range of things with them - concert attendance, sponsorships, corporate deals, etc. We all need to be cheering for them to deliver an A+ product with a few big singles.

I have to agree thats why i have said above something that delivering underground music means playing in small venues etc. Which i am ok with i will support no matter what if it flops or not as long as it goods. They dont need to play big concerts but of course it will give them more profit. And it will mean we will get promo, videos, better production on tour etc. It is all excellent and i am crossing my fingers for a next big success. But if they flop with the record i dont care as long as they will tour somehow.

Honestly, it feels so good to see Mike, feels like this huge chunk of my life that is LP is still somehow active and alive.

Never would've thought I'd had so much appreciation for an artist whom I've personally never met or talked to.

Shame I've never been to a LP show, but still had the chance to see him perform solo in the aftermath, that was an eye-opening experience, both liberating and bittersweet.

Thank you guys for keeping this site alive, this will never be forgotten

    I feel the same 🙌🏻🙌🏻

I would like it too. I know it exists in poor quality in the mp3 thread. This was my first LP show that I ever attended + Meet and Greet. And it's an epic show. Has Runaway (only time on the MTM cycle), Chester saying this is his son Tyler's first concert ever, etc. Plus the Faint is godly, if it were in HQ, people would consider it better than Rock Am Ring 2007's Faint.

You have seen LP when you  were 11 years old? Lit

  8. 18 minutes ago, Garret said:

Yeah well anyone who knew Chester can say he said anything, I mean, the man is dead, that happens a lot with celebrities and musicians, etc.

No doubt that Chester wanted to do something with GD again since he was involved with the reunion show, etc. and talked about it, etc. I just never remember him saying he was going to re-record vocals of their old stuff or make a new album with them, etc. But he could have. I thought somewhere it was said that they wanted to re-release some GD after he passed kind of like as a tribute. A lot of stuff has been deleted from 2017 to now from GD’s social, Sean and Mace’s social, etc. Honestly who really cares because it doesn’t matter either way. It’s just interesting.

And yeah I agree that the DBS pop up style shows would have been really great. Chester never said he wanted to make new DBS music again specifically at the time but he did post on Twitter about writing 5 new songs that were ready to go. Someone asked him if it was for DBS and he said maybe, or maybe he would put them out just on his own. So you never know if they could have became DBS songs, maybe after he did those pop up shows he would have wanted to make them DBS songs.

I think releasing a new GD record as a tribute to Chester is the best way to do it. And maybe some part of the money should go to the foundation or so.

  9. I am listening to your collection of DSPs and i am mindblown. Perfect selection. Faint, Bleed It Out, From The Inside - GODLIKE vocals. And I even haven't finished.

I have updated the collection with @Garret new choices as well.

My question to @JZLP is why the original DSP Ultimate Experience doesn't contain any performance from Iridescent? The is one on the rarities disc but not on the original one... I have added one from Garret's new picks.

Haha yeah I think Auburn is a place near Seattle. It’s like how Mansfield in Massachusetts is near Boston kind of so the band says Boston even though it’s technically not Boston where they played. There are so many examples of this. It is super confusing at times.

Thanks for explaining obviously i am not the greatest in american topography 🙊 but I didnt want to add wrong songs from your playlist.

  11. Just now, Garret said:

Well even though technically the band played in Auburn, the DSP listed it as Seattle, and the band says Seattle, etc. It’s like this for many places in the world. Like how LP played in Malakasa in Greece but yet they called it Athens. Just go by the actual date and you’ll be good, don’t worry about the name.

Thanks thats what i wanted to do anyway. Yeah it confused me even more when I've heard the band saying Seattle... Is Seattle nearby Auburn or they didnt know where they were xD serving Britney lol.

My own personal track list of Album 1. Has some improvements from me. Also doesn't have LT or 2012 shows because that album sucks to me, especially live. Since this is a collab effort, some of the performance on Album 1 were also chosen by JZLP so here is my own version of Album 1. If you don't want to listen to all of it, at least give TLTGYA from Atlanta a listen, it's far superior to the other performance.

Papercut (Phoenix 08.01.07) (Has epic thank you to Arizona for Chester speech)

One Step Closer (Tel Aviv 11.15.10) (Has the best screams on OSC I have ever heard in the shut up's and outro)

Points Of Authority (Auburn 07.25.07) (Like that it has no random verse intro)

Crawling (Milton Keynes 06.29.08) (Has Reanimated intro in which you can hear the keys)

In The End (Stuttgart 10.22.10) (Has full bridge from Chester)

A Place For My Head (Sacramento 03.10.08) (Has epic long intro and good performance)

Cure For The Itch (Burswood 10.18.07) (Best sounding one)

Pushing Me Away (Camden 07.19.08) (Album version of song, good performance)

Don’t Stay (Auburn 07.25.07) (Has high energy, no guitar mess ups during verses)

Somewhere I Belong (Greenwood Village 09.03.07) (Epic energy from Chester, cool intro)

Lying From You (Mountain View 06.05.11) (Good scream from Chester in intro and high energy throughout)

Faint (Auburn 07.25.07) (GODLIKE STATUS. Just listen.)

Breaking The Habit (Mansfield 08.24.07) (Has epic long intro, good vocals from Chaz)

From The Inside (Mansfield 08.24.07) (Has the best scream from Chester during the intro ever)

Session (Athens 07.21.09) (Best sounding one)

Numb (Marysville 07.27.07) (Just a good performance)

Wake (Montreal 02.22.08) (Best sounding one)

Given Up (Montreal 02.22.08) (Has full 18 second scream, best one)

Leave Out All The Rest (Frankfurt 01.20.08) (Excellent vocals from Chester in bridge here)

Bleed It Out (Auburn 07.25.07) (Like Faint, godlike, just listen)

Shadow Of The Day (Melbourne 12.13.10) (Best one)

What I’ve Done (Manchester 02.18.08) (Has long 2008 ambo intro and good vocals from Chaz)

Hands Held High (Toronto 08.21.07) (Done different than any other time, very good, has crowd sing chorus)

No More Sorrow (Arendal 06.28.11) (Best screams from Chester of all time on the song live)

Valentine’s Day (Manchester 02.18.08) (Has cool long intro and a good performance)

In Between (Detroit 02.16.08) (Love Chester/Mike harmonizing here in this particular performance)

In Pieces (Detroit 02.16.08) (Love the intro from Chester and a solid performance)

The Little Things Give You Away (Atlanta 08.07.07) (Really amazing speech from Mike before and Chester after. Best one)

The Requiem (New York 02.04.11) (Best one. Was there and it was epic as an intro)

Burning In The Skies (Stockholm 06.14.11) (Just a great performance of the song. Always have loved this one)

When They Come For Me (St. Gallen 07.02.11) (By far the best sounding performance of the song IMO. A must have)

Jornada Del Muerto (Mountain View 06.05.11) (The synth is cool in this one, a bit different)

Waiting For The End (Mountain View 06.05.11) (Just a solid performance)

Blackout (San Jose 02.22.11) (Chester's screaming is the best in this performance of the song out of all)

Wretches And Kings (Canberra 12.16.10) (Love the raspy vocals from Chester in chorus 2. And high energy throughout.)

Wisdom, Justice, And Love (Tel Aviv 11.15.10) (Good performance)

Iridescent (Tel Aviv 11.15.10) (Good performance, can't complain at all, standard version of the song)

    Fallout (Munchen 06.25.11) (Cool one)

The Catalyst (Arendal 06.28.11) (Has an epic scream from Chester in the electro breakdown part and a solid performance)

The Messenger (Los Angeles 02.23.11) (Really cool speech from Chester about his kids before the song, how he wrote it for them)

I am little confused because some dates here are different for the cities over here https://mega.nz/#F!ctMUVA4B!FMCYVFx-kxA755O1uVaAUg!9w00HSpB

For example you say Auburn 07.25.07 and here its says it was Seattle, another one Greenwood Village 09.03.07 and here its says Denver. I dont know if somehow guys who have uploaded it to Mega made a mistake with names or what? If anyone could make it clear I would appreciate it. Wikipedia says uburn instead of Seattle so I really dont understand it xD

    Thanks 😃

My relationship with LP fans is hard because, 9 out 10 people  that are "LP Fans" dont really understand what LP is, take Hybrid Theory EP for example, is "My december" nu-metal? "So Far Away" dates from 1998, is that "nu-metal"? "Step Up" is an incredible song... and is pure hip hop.. delivered by a band that can have a scream heavy song like A Place For My Head, but at the same time, an incredible song like Easier To Run, or a "out of a normal structure 3 different parts hip hop, pop, rap and underground vibe" song called Until It Breaks..

By the way, how you classify "The Little Things Give You Away"? is that "pop"? See? thats why LP is so special to me, those guys are creative AF when making an album... And when someone take this 10 songs album, with 10 songs beeing completely different, made with a lot of care and a huge level of production and say "no scream, no guitar, its trash..." makes me insane.

And is not just "creativity", is the production level too... and BTW, when i say "production level" i mean the "care" that they have with their songs, and that "care" translates do creativity instrumentally speaking, i was taking a look at When They Come For Me multitracks and the thing has almos 40 tracks with different instruments, not couting vocal tracks... 40 audio tracks mean 40 different instruments in the same song... think about the "common" ones.. Guitar, Drums, Bass, sometimes a little piano... alright, what else? A lot of bands are based only on those "common" ones.. now i will repeat: 40 audio tracks, 1 song. (the multitrack archive itself has 122 tracks, but some are Left / right tracks, and some tracks used on mastering, but pure instruments, 40, not counting vocals)

That's the "production" that i'm talking about, some of those instruments are almost inaudible when you hear the full song, but they care enough to put it there.. Up to this date (and i'm not kidding, i listen to LP since i was 9, now i'm 27) i still listen to some LP songs and sometimes i hear one instrument that i've never heard before on the song, and my reaction is like: "WTF, theres a war siren in this track?? Whaaat???" (WTCFM has a siren, pretty cool)

And since i love the way they "produce" their songs, imagine how hard is to me when someone say "OMG chester doesnt even scream anymore, what is that pop trash? ew LP is over"

Sorry For Now by itself has more production and layers / creativity that most other bands entire album... First time i listened to Sorry For Now i was like "Holy crap, thats some Trap and Chill step sutff with some sprinkles of pop but then comes a super cool guitar, man what is this??" it was incredible.. One More Light hits you in the feelings, chester's voice is amazing, Invisible is "No Roads Left" level, ok, not that high but how many times Mike sings like this? hitting those notes? Sharp edges cool uplifting acoustic guitar (instead of that "the messenger" sad/hope vibe). Heavy... first Chester plus a female voice ever, i get that some people dont like Kiiara voice (i do), but what if that girl was Amy Lee instead? Same song, but Amy Lee singing.. or Hayley Williams from Paramore? A lot of people dream about a Linkin Park and Evanescence colab, or Linkin Park and Paramore collab.. Would Heavy be hated like it was? just because is "pop"? It is a creative album, but unfortunatelly is exactly what i've said.. people throw under the "no guitars no scream just pop shit i hate it LP is dead" bus.

I know that’s why I love this band so much because you can’t call their music with just one generic name. Even the band themselves said in one interview that they are not playing just one genre and in the music shop on the shelves they should not be categorised as rock or whatsoever but just linkin park lol.

@Garret yeah we are kinda off topic now but I dont find it necessarily bad since the forum is dead now so its always good to talk.

They can go independent for sure, LP has Machine Shop anyways. The more they go underground in the next record, the better.

True but i dont know how being an independent artist comes together with touring. They were one of the few artists that were really having a WORLD tour. Usually world tour mean USA + Europe and some Latin America countries. Nobody comes to Australia etc. And they were touring literally everywhere packing up arenas and stadiums. But this kind of tour needs some money and sponsors right

  15. 19 minutes ago, bruh009 said:

I think Linkin Park has a main problem, and that problem is.... Warner, this is why:

Back in the days, LP had some trouble to find a label, so after a lot of attempts, they had a deal with Warner.

HT was a instant success.. Warner was amazed on how well the album performed.

So warner was like "OMG, we won the lotery, LP is a huge success, alright, we need more", and LP was like "Hold on, we were thinking about making a...." and warner was like: "NO. WE. NEED. MOAR.", so here it is.. Meteora, and is funny because you can see that warner "invested" a lot more on LP, so the songs are more produced than HT, keeping the essence of LP but adding more sutff (Breaking The Habit orchestra, Nobody's Listening cool and different instruments, etc...)

Another huge sucess, so after Meteora, LP was like "alright Warner, sit here, let's talk.. both of our albums were a sucess, right? Cool, now we want to do something new" and Warner was  like "But.... But... The sales... the numbers... You know what? NO. We want Meteora 2.0" and LP "What about 50/50? We do some old style songs (Given Up, No More Sorrow) and we also do something new", so there's Minutes To Midnight. The album had good sales, good numbers..

So, after 3 albums, LP was like "Alright Warner, this is the deal..3 albums, huge sales, good numbers, So... Next album, we are doing what we want... Alright? Ok Byeeee", and considering the Meteora / Hybrid Theory style was dying at this point, Warner was like "Ok than... You have credit, do something good" So ATS was a pure Linkin Park production, ignoring Live format, Radio format, it was 100% on LP hands, and the album was amazing, it was creative, really creative, it tells a story, the production level is INSANE... It was made with love and care. i do think ATS was their best album, but i dont think it was downhill from here...

Now we have Living Things, in my opinion the weakest LP album, not because is bad, or not well produced, but because most of the songs sounds the same, there's too much eletronic but not in a good and creative way like ATS, even some basic instruments like drums and guitars are eletronic, that makes the album sound the same start to finish. But it had good radio songs, so it was an OK album. And considering LT was following the "pop wave" that was spread out on music industry, i dont think they had that many problems.

After 4 albums, the band decided to "return" to their roots, i feel like THP was: "Hello there old fan from HT / Meteora that is pissed because we dont do heavy stuff anymore... We can still do that.. Don`t believe me? Please, sit here this other guy that never heard our heavy stuff and enjoy... We called it The Hunting Party", THP definatelly doesnt have  a huge production level in terms of instruments and creativity, but that was the idea... "Raw and powerfull album", the thing is, Warner was like "Hold on.... Living Things was a good album.. Pop is the new thing... and now you guys want to do heavy stuff?? That style is dead already... and what about the new audiance? Cmon man, at least throw some pop songs there, oh and BTW, Final Masquerade is the first single" and LP was "NO.. ok, fine, we can throw some pop songs there, but the single is GATS". I think the only problem with THP is that, the objective of "we can still do heavy stuff" was delivered to a new audiance only, that came along with ATS and LT and didnt cared about the "old days", The "old fan base that hated everything since Meteora" didnt cared anymore.

And finally, One More Light was a Pop / Mainstream album, but it was creative, and overall a good album.

So i dont think LP had any "downhill", i just think they hated Warner since the beggining, and sometimes, in some albums, you can see that clearly... and they have some troubles with some "fans" because aparently, after 7 albums, some people still dont understand that LP dont make the same thing over and over.. Every album is different, doesnt matter if it is pop, rock, eletronic, folk, funk, country. Every. Album. Is. Different.

I really like the way that you have explained it, it was a good read for me.

Well its the same with every fanbase, there are always some morons that expect the artist to deliver exactly the same album as they think was „the best” only in their opinion and the rest sucks. I listen to a lot of different artists in different genres and i sweat its all the same story everywhere.

Maybe LP should go independent now but that of course means more money for promo and everything.
