In a February 2019 interview to Rock Sound, Taka from One Ok Rock revealed he had started working with Mike and Steve Aoki on new music following their 2018 performance at Summer Sonic. Today, May 22nd, Steve Aoki posted several pictures of himself and Mike working together at Aoki's Playhouse, his residency in Las Vegas. Aoki is currently working on his album "Neon Future IV" and captioned his photo with Mike, "Neon Future Cave Sessions ft Mike Shinoda." This comes months after Mike has publicly said several times that he's been working on a lot of collaborations with other artists behind the scenes, including grandson and K.Flay... but he indicated he is producing a good bit of that music. We all are familiar with Steve Aoki, of course, from the collaborations "A Light That Never Comes" and "Darker Than Blood", along with his beautiful remix in tribute of Chester. Steve has been performing his remix live since mid-2017, and joined Linkin Park at their Hollywood Bowl performance that October. Stay tuned as we should see collaborations with Mike released all throughout 2019 since these other artists are preparing to finish their albums and release them.

Talinda Bennington, who has stepped into a major role in the online discussion about mental health and has taken an active role in providing technological assistance and aid to those who need help, is featured on a new podcast episode of "Life After Suicide", a podcast by Dr. Jennifer Ashton. "Dr. Jennifer Ashton, ABC News' Chief Medical Correspondent, draws from her own tragic experience to explore the aftermath of suicide and sudden loss, and, like her new book "Life After Suicide," the podcast is a roadmap to survival, offering inspiring insight on how to regain balance and get back to life. She speaks with people living with loss who have moved through guilt, anger and hopelessness to a new normal as well as with survivors and specialists in medicine, faith and more on how to heal from any type of traumatic experience." The description for this episode reads, "Talinda Bennington is the wife of the late rock singer Chester Bennington. Chester was the lead singer of the massively successful rock band Linkin Park, before he took his own life on July 20, 2017. Talinda speaks to Dr. Jen Ashton about the shock of his death, and how she channeled her pain into something to help others. She is the co-founder of 320 Changes Direction, an initiative to change the culture surrounding mental health. In his life, Chester touched the lives of millions of fans-- with his death Talinda hopes to do the same. " In this episode, Talinda goes very in-depth about her journey with Chester, especially in 2016 and 2017. She details how he was doing better than ever, in her eyes, in 2017 and was improving from his battle with addiction. She tells the story of how she stayed by his side and worked hard with him to overcome what he was fighting against. Then, the conversation shifts to how her life changed on July 20th, how the Linkin Park fan community rallied to support her and other fans, and how Linkin Park themselves (with their families) showed up to her house to provide her with support and even slept on air mattresses in her bedroom with her and her friends in the following days. This is a highly recommended listen as fans will get a much deeper understanding of what was going on with Chester, but most importantly as Talinda says, how he never meant to hurt anyone. We applaud Talinda for bravely going in front of a big audience and telling her story, but also for helping so many thousands of fans across the world recover from Chester's untimely passing.

Joe Hahn has just wrapped up his recent "Carry On" photo exhibition in China. Throughout the course of a few weeks at the end of April through mid-May, he held showings in Chengdu, Beijing, and Shanghai at local Mercedes me Stores. The photos, taken by Joe, are from Linkin Park's "One More Light" world tour in 2017, their last tour with Chester. The pamphlet given to fans who made it out to see the photos says, "Carry On has a few meanings. As a traveler, it is the luggage that contains essential items, such as a camera. In another sense, it is a term used when moving past a difficult moment in life. This exhibition is a collection of photos that Joe Hahn has taken since March 2017 throughout the remainder of Linkin Park's tour that year. The photos reminisce on key moments captured through Joe Hahn's lens of life during those days." Fans were able to take photos with Joe and get items signed by him at the opening of the exhibit in each city. They were also given event-exclusive items as a thank you for coming out. Finally, Joe says that "the Mainland China part of the tour has come to an end." On Instagram, there is chatter of perhaps some German showings that are being planned. Stay tuned!

Must be quite disappointing, if you are the band, to have a track with CB on it leak like this when there is only a limited amount of recordings with him on them remaining. From our friends at LinkinPark:BR : Joe has given a lengthy interview with Yonhap News. He discusses Linkin Park, Korea, and a lot of other topics. The full interview can be read here. - Going back to the topic of Linkin Park, I'm sure it's really hard, but you can tell me how you felt finding out about Chester? "He was our best friend. I miss him. The members are taking care of themselves and their families and are going through the problems in their own way. And… Now the band has started talking about making new music together." - Will Linkin Park come back? "Maybe in about 10 years? (Laughs) It might be sooner. I don't want to set a deadline. We just want to focus on the present and talk about music. We aren't discussing detailed plans. I just want to go back to those days when I made music in the garage." - If you do end up making new music, who would fill in for Chester's vocals? Are you considering taking an external recruit or one of the other members? "All possibilities are open." - I was told that you're preparing a photo exhibition for Linkin Park. "That's right. On our last tour, I took the camera and took pictures of the members. When I was performing, I took a pictures of all the guys. Sort of like a time capsule. It will open in Beijing, China and Shanghai, three cities from the 27th April to the 3rd of May. I would like to exhibit in Korea, but I haven't found a proper place yet."

Linkin Park's first single from Minutes to Midnight just turned 12 years old on April 2, 2019. The song went on to become one of their biggest singles in their career. Ironically, it was the last song written for Minutes to Midnight after the rest of the album was finished when they needed a strong first single to push MTM. What I've Done marked the beginning of LP changing their sound and evolving, from the rap/rock style of Hybrid Theory and Meteora to the diverse musical genres they explored in the following albums. Joe directed the music video, which was shot at El Mirage in the Mojave Desert. Mike: "We filmed the video for What I've Done e in El Mirage because the desert scene related the lyrics and because it fit in with the themes of the video (the stock footage)." Brad: "There are definitely elements to the record that you can identify as Linkin Park, probably the best of which would be our first single, ‘What I’ve Done.’ It’s really in a sense a bridge from where we were to kind of where this record wound up. But each one of the songs that made the album was recorded in a totally different environment, has a totally unique sound, and beyond just the style of the songs we really focused through and through on the content of this record—the lyrics, the melodies. We didn’t work on the style of many of the songs in terms of the arrangements or polishing the context until we knew that the basic ideas in each case were really, really strong." Where were you when you first heard the song in 2007? What were your first thoughts of the track? Is What I've Done the song that got you into Linkin Park?

Lift Off was a song created in 2017, in Berlin with Machine Gun Kelly during the Linkin Park tour, and was intended to be a Fort Minor song released later in 2017. Mike had Linkin Park's blessings to do this and I suspect I.O.U., etc were a part of this as well (some of the "fun" songs on Post Traumatic). Then he re-wrote the Lift Off lyrics and included it on Post Traumatic. When performing it live, he raps the demo lyrics from 2017. Does anyone have a good guess at the lyrics? "no, it’s not what I want but it had to be lames ________ like I'm draining their battery I put you in retirement, imagine you're mad at me the space shuttle Challengers get turned into tragedies rock and _____ rhyming yes, heavily tested mess with 'Em (less?), yes I hope you invested I don’t drop mics, only let it smoke where I set it and I don’t play, even when they press it, get it?"

Guess: Linkin Park returns in fall 2019 to make new music, or early 2020. Phoenix has been vocal about wanting it too.

The Post Traumatic Tour's final leg is underway, and it's off to a big start! The second show of the tour takes Mike and company to their second of six stops in Germany - Bremen! This is Mike's second performance in Bremen ever. The only other time he's been there: with Linkin Park in 2014, during The Hunting Party European Tour. The band ran through Set B, featuring tracks like 'With You,' 'Somewhere I Belong,' and the 2014 Abridged Version of 'Dirt Off Your Shoulder/Lying From You' from Collision Course. Additionally, many fresh cuts from The Hunting Party made their way into the set: namely 'Rebellion,' 'Final Masquerade,' and 'Guilty All The Same.' What made this show special was that it was the only show of the tour to feature a verse of 'High Voltage' during Mike's Solo Medley. A pretty awesome show all around. The city's been waiting for more, so they better keep the history going! The tour kickoff in Berlin was nothing short of spectacular. Though Mike didn't whip out any huge surprises as far as debuts or anything goes, he put together a great setlist to bring things back in. Opening with the classic 'Welcome,' the set started energetically -- and with a lot of hip-hop flair, as 'I.O.U.' and 'When They Come For Me' followed. That's a pretty filthy start. Mike whipped out plenty of classics throughout the set, including 'In Stereo' and 'Petrified' (which opened the encore). All the normal tracks are back, too: Post Traumatic tracks like 'Make It Up As I Go' and 'Ghosts' are still going strong, while 'Sorry For Now,' 'Castle Of Glass,' and 'Roads Untraveled' are all still sounding as great as ever. That's not to say there weren't surprises, though. Mike's always got something under his sleeve, even when the fun hasn't even begun. The first surprise of the night: the friend of a fan who performed piano for 'In The End.' The guy - named Philip - did an awesome job, and started the song hilariously low before Mike jokingly had him pitch it up. It also gave Mike the rare chance to live in the old world of performing 'In The End' again - if you saw him, you know he was all over the stage and up and personal with the crowd, just like the old days. After that, another, albeit smaller surprise came: a full piano rendition of 'Heavy!' Mike most often just performs a shortened versions of the three piano songs he rotates around ('Heavy,' 'Burn It Down,' and 'Numb'), so a full version is a nice treat. The biggest surprise came at the end of the main set, though. Normally, the set ends after the destructive combo of 'About You,' 'Over Again,' and 'Papercut,' but not in Berlin. That shit ended with 'A Place For My Head.' Guest singer Jennifer Weist from the German rock band Jennifer Rostock came out and absolutely killed it onstage, roaring that bridge and outro like it was nothing. Overall, a great night for some great jams, old-school style. What can we expect at this show? Who knows! There's no precedent yet for how setlists will go this tour (it's been a good 5 months since Mike's really had control over a full setlist), so this show may tell us a lot about what to expect going forward. One likely contender for a different track is 'Invisible,' which rotated with 'Sorry For Now' at the end of the Outbreak Tour last fall. Plenty of Post Traumatic tracks are in the running though, though some have become rarities: 'World's On Fire' (played often since it debuted in New York City), 'Place To Start' (which has only been played once since it was dropped at the end of the Asia Tour last summer), 'Watching As I Fall' (played randomly throughout the tour), 'Hold It Together' (played often), and 'Lift Off' (debuted at the very last full show of 2018 in Silver Springs, Maryland). Plus, plenty of other songs are always in the rotations: 'High Road,' 'It's Goin' Down,' 'Cigarettes,' 'Kenji,' 'Iridescent,' 'Until It Breaks,' 'Sharp Edges' are all possible, too. If any of the unplayed Post Traumatic tracks ('Nothing Makes Sense Anymore,' 'Brooding,' 'Promises I Can't Keep,' 'Can't Hear You Now,' 'Prove You Wrong,' and 'What The Words Meant') are gonna debut this tour, they'll probably need a few run throughs at soundchecks... if we get any info on those, we'll keep you posted. There's a lot of potential for setlist madness this tour, and let's just see where it takes us. Don Broco will be opening the show (and the rest of the shows in Germany), and they hardly need any introduction at this point. If you're looking for a bunch of good lookin' English dudes to jam out and have fun with for half an hour before Mike Shinoda comes on, you're in the right place. Their set opened with 'Everybody' before continuing into more energetic tracks: 'Automatic' and 'Pretty.' The set also included their hits like 'Come Out To LA' and 'You Wanna Know,' ultimately closing with 'The T-Shirt Song' - the Don Broco fanbase's version of 'A Place For My Head.' Speaking of 'A Place For My Head,' Don Broco performed the song with Mike at the end of the Outbreak Tour to close the shows... since the song is already in the set, perhaps we'll see them back onstage to deliver the filth. We'll have to wait and see! But make sure you catch these guys live before Mike - you won't regret it. Who's going to the show? Mike continues through Germany with shows in Hannover, Oberhausen, and Hamburg after this show, so we have plenty of German energy to keep the tour going with a great start. On February 28, the day before his "Anesthetic" album was released, Mark Morton teased a music video coming soon for "Cross Off" (feat. Chester Bennington). A small video clip teaser can be seen here. We currently do not have the release date for the music video but keep an eye on social media. It is also unknown if Mark was able to record any studio footage with Chester during their sessions together or not. Mark recently spoke to Billboard about "Anesthetic" and included track-by-track commentaries. Here an excerpt from the interview: Morton is well aware that Bennington's appearance on "Cross Off" is drawing greater attention to Anesthetic. He wrestled a bit about whether or not to include it after Bennington died by suicide on July 20, 2017 but ultimately decided it was a performance that did more good coming out than being held back. "The song was special to us all before he passed," Morton says. "It had been awhile since he'd done something that heady, that scream-y, and he was really thrilled about that and you can really hear it in his performance. Everyone involved, including people close to him, knew how excited he was and how much he really loved that song, so it felt right for the world to hear it. It was an awesome session and we had a great vibe making it."

Jennifer Weist, singer of Rostock, says she will join Mike on stage for a Linkin Park song at this show.

As we reported in November, Mike shot a music video for 'I.O.U.' on the North American Tour. This was first noticed at the Chicago stop of the tour, where he had extra gear on stage to film the track. On social media, Mike confirmed that the video will be released on Monday, March 4 at 9am PST. Even as the album cycle appears to be concluding in March, Mike seems like he is intent on releasing more videos for the album. When first releasing the videos in 2018, he said that he planned on doing a video for each song. We will see what song he picks next.

Linkin Park has announced a Record Store Day vinyl release for April 13, 2019. This year, the release will be Transformers special edition vinyls with Linkin Park songs "New Divide" (T2), "What I've Done" (T1), and "Iridescent" (T3). It is unclear yet as to which version of "Iridescent" will appear on the vinyl - the album version on A Thousand Suns, or the "Energy Up Version" aka radio edit of the track. The release is composed of three different vinyls, one for each Transformers release and they are purple, green, and brown (respectively). Will you be picking up the release?

Welcome back to LPLive! We apologize for our downtime in January and most of February. Long story short, the site experienced some difficulties with hosting and we thought our data had become corrupted. We have moved to a new host, recovered all of the data, and have spent time upgrading the site to a new version... what we will call LPLive 6.0. As the site is not completely finished, you will run into some things that we are still working on. Related Acts, Julien-K, etc are still a work in progress as we have been focusing on Linkin Park and Mike Shinoda for the time being. We're back! Welcome to LPLive 6.0. We've been down since January, but we're getting right back into the swing of things. The FINAL LEG of the Post Traumatic Tour is kicking off in Berlin, Germany on March 2, 2019 at the Columbiahalle. This'll be Mike's first solo show in Berlin -- unless you count his 2015 performance as Fort Minor there. We'll all remember this showa s it was the first performance of the Suicide Music version of 'High Voltage' on the tour (and the first time since 2001 that the song was performed in full). Mike has already performed in Germany on the Post Traumatic Tour, though: twice! The first was in Köln, the very first show to feature the piano versions of 'Heavy,' 'Burn It Down,' and 'Numb,' which would become a staple part of every setlist from there on out. 'Until It Breaks' also got its tour debut during the encore of this show. Mike returned to Germany once more for a show in Offenbach am Main, where he performed 'Numb' and 'In The End' with a fan named Rosie Stickdorn, and later performed 'Kenji' by fan request. Linkin Park has also performed at this venue - in 2001, on the Hybrid Theory European Tour. This show featured the live debut of 'Step Up!' Watch Mike perform piano versions of 'In The End,' 'Heavy,' 'Burn It Down,' and 'Numb' in Köln, Germany last year on the European leg of the Post Traumatic Tour. Rotations of these songs (and a couple of others) became a setlist staple from this show onwards! If you followed our tour coverage over the Outbreak Tour last fall, you'll know how crazy the setlists got. Virtually everything we knew about the setlist from Day 1 was different by the end of the tour. We ended up with 5 recurring intro songs: 'Welcome,' 'Petrified,' 'Robot Boy' and 'World's On Fire,' 'When They Come For Me,' and 'Remember The Name.' Mike added and debuted more songs than we can even recount at various points throughout the tour, too. 'World's On Fire' and 'Lift Off' debuted from Post Traumatic, while Mike also brought out 'Sharp Edges,' 'Invisible,' 'Cigarettes,' 'High Road,' and more at some point on the tour, digging into his discography. Even the closing song changed, with 'A Place For My Head' featuring opening band Don Broco replacing 'Running From My Shadow' for the last few shows, too. Going into this tour, we have absolutely no idea what'll happen. And that's how we like it. All the same, that won't stop us from making predictions! This may be the last shot for some Post Traumatic songs to get their live debut: 'Nothing Makes Sense Anymore,' 'Brooding,' 'Promises I Can't Keep,' and 'Can't Hear You Now' all still have not been performed (and Mike explicitly stated he'd like to perform 'Can't Hear You Now'). Additionally, the new bonus tracks 'Prove You Wrong' and 'What The Words Meant' would be very welcome additions to the set, as well as his Martin Garrix collaboration 'Waiting For Tomorrow,' which Mike also expressed that he wanted added to the set. Plus, we know everyone would love to see fan favorites like 'High Voltage,' 'No Roads Left,' 'It Goes Through,' and more added to the set. This may be the last chance for these songs for quite some time! What songs do you want to see Mike perform on this tour? One surprise we DO know is coming: an onstage collaboration! The lead singer of the German rock band Jennifer Rostock, Jennifer Weiss will be joining Mike onstage! She mentioned on her Instagram story that she would be playing with Mike, and also sang the chorus of 'A Place For My Head' - looks like she may be performing the song with Mike! That'd be an awesome way to kick off the tour - let's see what happens! Watch Mike perform 'A Place For My Head' with Don Broco in Detroit, Michigan on the Outbreak Tour! Don Broco will be playing all of the Germany dates on this tour, so hopefully we'll see this happen throughout the tour! Speaking of Don Broco, they'll be opening the German dates on this tour! After opening shows for Mike throughout the United States and Europe last year, they're back for more. If the above performance of 'A Place For My Head' isn't enough, I can tell you firsthand that they do not disappoint live. As will anyone who saw them open for Mike over the last tour - with jams like 'T-Shirt Song' and 'Come Out To LA,' you can't really go wrong. They're full of energy and charisma - definitely inspired by Chester's onstage presence, no doubt. If you can catch their set, don't miss it! This final leg of the Post Traumatic Tour will last all month long, seeing Mike and co. travel throughout Europe and even hitting Israel before wrapping up. After this show, Mike has a run of four more stops in Germany: Bremen, Hannover, Oberhausen, and Hamburg. Additionally, the tour returns to GErmany twice more, with shows in Munich and Ludwigsburg. On a recent Instagram Q&A, Mike Shinoda revealed he has no plans to release more solo music at the moment, but he has been working with other artists as producer and songwriter. In addition, he said the Post Traumatic bonus tracks "Prove You Wrong" and "What The Words Meant" should be coming to streaming services soon. Mastercard is working on rebranding themselves and asked none other than Mike Shinoda to reinterpret their new song. Check out a behind the scenes video here. Pictures here. Mike has also collaborated with Felix Jaehn back in September 2017, with Sir Sly on their 3rd studio album, with AmirSaysNothing in February, and Taka Moriuchi from One Ok Rock has recently hinted on a future collaboration with Steve Aoki and Mike. Update (20/02): Mike has confirmed via social media that the Post Traumatic Special Edition vinyl bonus tracks "Prove You Wrong" and "What The Words Meant" will be released digitally on Friday, February 22nd.

Mike Shinoda has played a private show at Mercedes-Benz USA Headquarters in Atlanta, GA on February 6th. The short set featured an special remix of “In The End” with vocals by audience members Farina and Dave Silva. Check our show page for more information. Mike has announced two shows at Hangar 11 in Tel Aviv, Israel on March 25th and March 26th. Linkin Park performed only once in Israel, in 2010, making this Mike’s second time ever in the country. It looks like the Post Traumatic Tour is coming to an end after those shows as Mike told Access Online the tour has already served its purpose. Read the interview here.
