  1. Yeah the comments about it not being a demo are correct. Sean did this in 2002 for a 2003 release and the LP label blocked it. https://www.lpassociation.com/forum/threads/coming-soon-exclusive-remastered-audio-of-grey-dazes-no-sun-today.25382/ Info is there. It's a remaster. All for accuracy but it seems like that comes last these days - GD B12, LP Shadow of the Day, Mike mislabeling LPU demo years, etc. We'll at least note it correctly on the wiki and that's all we can do. If all of those are released then that's a good project, IMO.
  2. The wrong version of Shadow of the Day is on this vinyl. How in the world did they not catch that?
  3. Been a while. Saw this video on Twitter and gave it another stab. Will ask Mike about these after the ZIGGURATS drop and get them officially. Yeah! Lift off like Virgin Galactic My Richard’s too Branson to fuck with you bastards Very legendary that’s some matter of fact shit You're the opposite of stars like rats spelled backwards I flow poems out to Saturn and past it Easy as a standard anti-gravity backflip Satellite tracking can't map up my tactics I spit the same shit they split an atom in half with No, it’s not what I want but it had to be And lames heads hang like I'm drainin' their battery I put you in retirement, imagine you're mad at me The space shuttle challengers get turned into tragedies Rock and dime (?) rhymin', yes heavily tested Mess with Em', messed, yes I hope you invested I don’t drop mikes, only let it smoke where I set it And I don't play, even when they press, get it?
  4. They sound like LPU demos like Basil.
  5. This is a really interesting situation here. It's possible the 24 bit masters are completely lost and they had to re-record the guitar part? Maybe that's why it took them so long to replace this on SOTD. How does Mike's hard drives/computer not have the original ProTools session files and all of the song files still there? Then you just mix down a "new" (same as 2007) version of the song. Why the need to re-record?
  6. Ana has been aware of this all year, she's working on it. Someone asked this to Mike, lol?
  7. Wish he had released "One Hundredth Stream" instead of this meme jam.
  8. On Twitch today, Mike said that he is doing a writing session over Zoom with Eg White. Eg, who we all know from Linkin Park's last album, co-wrote the title track 'One More Light' with Mike. Mike originally performed lead vocals on the track until the band decided to switch the vocals out for Chester's version just before the album was completed. To read more about the background behind 'One More Light' (song), visit the song's Linkinpedia page. In March 2019, Eg joined Mike on stage in London to perform 'One More Light' for just the second time since Chester's passing, the first being the Hollywood Bowl Celebration of Life performance. The fan-filmed video from London has over 1.7 million views on YouTube and the performance that day received considerable attention on social media. Source: BroodingAnanas via Twitter
  9. The three Minutes to Midnight songs released in 2012-2013+ with the wrong versions are apparently the versions that are still streaming on Apple Music, as confirmed by a few Twitter users this past week. These were originally released on HDTracks, then the "Mastered for iTunes" version of Minutes To Midnight in 2013, and in 2017 on the picture vinyl release of the album. The three songs affected are 'Shadow of the Day' (different strings and bass), 'No Roads Left' (added drum track and louder strings), and 'Across the Line' (no bass on the first verse). We have the three Alternate Versions on our LPLive Archive YouTube channel to listen to.
  10. 1. Lies Greed Misery 2. ALTNC Rick Rubin Reboot
  11. Wow this is great! This is one of the best covers Chester's ever done (already) and this version just sounds awesome. Saw a terrible comment on YouTube: "Hope linkin park learns how to honor Chester like you guys"
  12. This is easily one of Mike's best instrumental pieces. Really a big fan of the sound of it... would be quite a cool sound/genre for LP to try. Imagine vocals come in at 0:35.... it'd already be better than Lies Greed Misery lol
  13. And they said Fort Minor was a group. They really jumped through things and only measured success with TRL and the VMAs... quite odd.
  14. Interesting. Will watch that. Rick Rubin is who suggested it to the band when they were attending the Grammy's. He sent them that exact tracklisting and that is what they went with.
  15. Seems like this is the most logical step forward and something they'll get a lot of support with from their core fanbase as they already know Jon and Matt. Both are fantastic. Hell, bring them both in. Why not?
  16. The Chester era ended July 20, 2017. What do you want them to do, sit and not make a decision for 4 more years when they could hypothetically (if they are ready) release 2 great albums in that time and do several world tours....?
  17. Wasn't big on Happy Endings or the NFT stuff... hope to get an EP or album from Mike this year. Or something from LP that says "we are making music, see you soon"
  18. Based on the previews, it sounds like some overdubs. "Other fellas" on Remember the Name. Check Petrified especially. Same vocal takes for the verses, just mute the explicit words, and overdub a word every now and then on some of them.
  19. This could have been a lot worse, honestly. Not a huge fan of the song but at least they got together and performed it live. Doing it over Zoom or whatever could have happened virtually would have been much worse. This is what it is - it isn't terrible. Reminds me of ALTNC on Jimmy Kimmel with Aoki, Mike, and Chester.
  20. The production on this song by Alanis is really good. It's simple but it works quite well. Reminds me of OML (the song) with the effects used.
  21. CD 92.9 FM in Columbus, OH has posted a new interview with Mike on Instagram. "@m_shinoda joins us to chat about new music, fans around the world, twitch streams, and more in the Virtual Big Room!" Mike talks about making 'Happy Endings', scheduling some sessions with other artists, etc. "I'm working on a variety of different things. It ranges widely from little musical ideas I've got myself to working with other people. With things opening back up, I'm starting to schedule some sessions with other artists again. I haven't done that in over a year, like in person stuff I haven't really done." He also said he isn't working on a new album at this time.
  22. In celebration of 'Minutes to Midnight' turning 14, Frank Maddocks posted on Instagram, "May 14, 2007 - Linkin Park Minutes to Midnight Icon design. The band asked me develop a logo that was iconic, memorable and easy to render. A simplistic almost punk approach. Broken down to basic elements. A bit of the exploration and development shown here." He included a lengthy series of logos that he went through in presumably late 2006 or early 2007 before he reached the final, signature "circle LP logo" that we all know. In related news, Linkin Park has uploaded the 40 minute "Making of MTM" DVD on YouTube for the first time. Still no word on the infamous "Webster Hall" footage that was shown in theaters of the band making the album, though!
  23. Sounds to me like it could be on the High Rise EP.
  24. Fine currently has more streams than Happy Endings and is a more popular song, so I hope he will play it. The USA is open for shows, we have 100% capacity concerts for 15,000+ people starting in July. Mike could announce a show anytime for July onwards that he wants, but he will likely play it even more conservative than most artists and wait until the end of the year or so to play, probably.
