Among other things, since the last live on Twitch Mike has gone completely silent and has never posted anything again, even and especially after the explosion of the Rumor of the possible Singles Collection. A signal?

Mike being so quiet and especially not promoting his solo stuff and not disbanding the rumors surrounding the GH  is a signal IMO

You can't. One More Light was the only album in which they started the songs with lyrics / vocals. If any early/undeveloped demo from other albums got any kind of vocals, it would be something like this masterpiece:

Or "Too Legit" where half of the lyrics are PANANANANANANAAAAA

The success of LOST was unbelievable, it showed that the world still need Chester voice

Lost was so huge that they probably decided to go with more Chester stuff and keep the momentum going. Like, waiting 10 years to release Friendly Fire is nonsense IMO, keep the momentum going. A pop song with CB on vocals would definitely crack the alternative chart or billboard and make  50 M streams on Spotify in a few months

Friendly fire for sure is on the top of what could have made the cut but when someone asked Mike about that song he said it will be released in the long future. For this reason I think it could be another song unless he changed idea about the timing for releasing it.

It was almost 4 years ago when Mike said that so it's been years... it could even be

  5. I'd love an OML b-side, super excited for that. Hope that it's not going to be an unreleased concert because (I might be the only one here I know) I couldn't care less unless it's like an unreleased concert where they played, say, W&K or IMR or stuff like that (rarities)

  6. It's pretty obvious tha this release is not for us but for videogaming/marketing purposes and stuff like that. I couldn't care less about it, i heard it fast forwarding almost every track, it is what it is, it's there, will never listen to it again but I am not hating, waiting for the next project, hoping I'll enjoy it

  7. I love how the lyrics of the songs are meta, and I have to say that I heard it and I like it a lot, it’s the kind of distorted electronic rap I really like from Mike, far better than most of his 2019-2023 output and even half of PT for me.

    Finally listened

    1. Crimson Intro - Definitely has some ATS vibes and I agree it sounds like a mix of Mike's stuff through the years. I also agree that it would have been a lot more interesting if the second bar of the solo did something different since it's just the same from the actual track
    2. AO - Still a banger, my favorite Mike solo song since PT
    3. AO Reorganized - I love the soundscape here, I do wish though it had some vocals on it or something to make it more interesting like the samples on ATS or the Japanese on Jornada del Muerto
    4. Finer - The first half is ok, I miss a lot of elements of the original and the double time snare doesn't feel great here to me. But the ending SLAPS, I've been wanting to hear Mike go off like that for a long time now. I bet when he plays Fine live it'll be the first half of the original and then this ending as an outro. The original fine was begging for something more interesting to drop imo and now we have it
    5. AO FM Mix - Still love it, both verses are great. I wish it had a more interesting instrumental ending like Finer though
    6. IMH - Feels kinda random to be on this, probably in the bottom half of Mike solo tracks for me and it being on here doesn't really do anything for it or the EP imo
    7. Nothing's There - Reminds me of some Living Things or stagelight demos mixed with stuff like Session. I love it, wish the soundscape carried over to another full song

    8. Part 2 - I love the new verses and rap verse, but I wish the choruses also had some new lyrics or something new about them. Right now it feels kinda like a demo to AO rather than a part 2. Doesn't feel like a closer to me but it's nice on its own for sure

Agree on almost everything you said, I love how the whole EP has 2010/2013 LP vibes.

yea after listening to it probably hundreds of times i can see what Mike said how it has the same intensity as Numb, and it just doesn’t quite make sense on the album before Numb really. An extra track from the album is what it kinda needed to be, just it definitely could’ve been a B-side back in 2003, I think. But alas they forgot about it, and understandably as they never really needed another extra song that year in particular so again i’m glad it’s out now nevertheless.

    Yeah totally

    That's awesome!
Imagine what it feels like to those local musicians.

In a hypotetical situation, imagine you're a garage/bar/instagram amateur musician and then you're invited to play a 40 min set with mike shinoda in the main stage of a festival.

Great idea too keep LP alive without replacing LP. It's a tribute band with the "main" member being part of it.

Yeah I love the “LP but not LP” nature of the thing: he is doing LP stuff (alongside with his solo music) without the weight of the LP name and the expectations and without answering the big question everyone is asking since July 20, 2017, just having fun and playing some LP songs

My feeling since the HB show 6 years ago has been that LP was unofficially officially finished after that night. And that is fine. But sign me up for Mike and whatever cast of traveling musicians he can find because these are awesome. In these couple of videos he seems to be loving singing "live". Idk about anyone else but as soon as the verse started on Faint I just expected him to flip the guitar on his back and grab the mic.

I would love this, I think this is the best way to “replace” Chester: not replacing it. It’s like a sort of Hollywood Bowl with other artists playing Chester’s parts: it’s not permanent and it’s a lot of fun.
