  1. I totally agree with a lot of your statements Geki, but i disagree to some others, it' s funny. I feel too that some phases of LP career felt forced, especially IMO THP cycle. I mean, seems like it was a sort of deviation from the obvious road (even though i really like the album) because if after LT and RECHARGED they d have put out Heavy it d have been a sort of logical consequence to me, but THP seems to break a sort of circle and they seem to have built that album up to break it back down ( pun intended). The thing that i do not agree with is that to me MTM always felt pretty random and messy and all but cohesive, i mean they basically threw too many ideas in just one record to me and even if I love some songs i hardly ever listen to the record as a whole and I d say it s my least favourite. The thing that scares me the most about LP'S future is the possible total loss of identity that could occur, caused by the effort to always make a different sound :)

  2. ...

I honestly enjoy Heavy but i agree with you that it sounds empty in terms of instrumentation, to me it could have been great if it had a proper intro ( 15-20 seconds at least) and if Kiiara was not so prominent, i mean i love her verse but she sings more than half of the song... I would die to hear a demo with only Chester on vocals to compare the 2 versions.

  3. You probably are reading too much into it. I doubt they really hate what they did during their early days. But I think they are just fed up with the crowd who keeps coming with the 'LP is dead, bring back HT/Meteora sound' every damn era. By now people should already have accepted that they just gonna record whatever they feel like. It has been so many years ago and people still are stuck in some delusional phase where they think ever band should be a one trick pony of their debut era.

A lot of the music of their early days were inspired by the life of them being 'kids' basically and struggles that they went through during that age. The style of their music reflected that. In the meantime they have grown as artists and as humans. Their music is reflected that aswell for the most part.

They are just joking and giving a middle finger up to that part of the fanbase (if we even should call them that) that are whining every era they should return to HT. Even some media outlets are stuck in that outdated argument, it is already tiring for me as fan, I can't even imagine how tiring it must be for them tbh.

THIS. I think your post should be copyed under every YT video or Facebook page where those a**ho**s keep complaining about old LP. Try to catch up moterfucker!

  4. Foos are no way bigger than LP in Italy ... But Muse are bigger in terms of stadium filling and became more poular in Italy because THP and ATS in Italy sold less than 2nd Law and Drones in my country

It s weird to be a fan of LP in Italy nowadays because some people treat you ad If you were a fan of an underground band like ... IDK I Prevail

  5. Anyway 7,6 million views on yt and 4 million streams on spotify is really good isn't it? I don't get why a lot of LP fans in Italy say the Foos and Muse are bigger than LP... I mean LP is now the 97th most played artist worldwide on Spotify and muse is like 320th and Foos are circa 200th...

  6.

Hey Korn manages spikes in popularity every now and then! See You On The Other Side and The Path of Totality spring to mind.

But I absolutely agree that LP would've faded to relative obscurity if they had never evolved past the nu-metal sound. Bands like Limp Bizkit, Korn, etc still have a dedicated fanbase but are virtually nonexistent in popular music.

Yes consider that THP has been more successful in terms of sales, charts, critics reviews etc.. than every album that these bands put out in the last decade...

  7. Okay i agree it' s better but you can' t deny that Heavy could fit on LT easily.

Exactly good points. I guess LP can't please everyone there will always be haters, had they kept on releasing music for the last 15 years or so which sounded like HT I'm pretty sure there would be people complaining about them making the same music.

If they kept releasing stuff like HT they'd probably be totally irrelevant now like Korn, changing kept them alive and interesting, even if it s obvious that, as you said, they can't please everyone.

  8. Guys i found a review/reaction of the song on youtube where the guy says that he doesn' t like it because it' s too simple and poorly written and later he says that LT is his favourite LP album ... I mean, everything is subjective but no effing way this song is worse than LGM or Victimized or STB lyrically or in terms of sound... I mean, it' s basically Powerless + Kiiara ...

  9. Heavy took a bit to grow on me but now i cannot fucking stop listening to it, can't wait to hear the rest, Chester and Mike in the interviews hyped me up a lot talking about the songs ( Mike singing a lot, Chester rapping in one song, the amazing verse in "Halfway through"...)

  10. Yes different is good, I mean my only complain t son Heavy are basically the lenght ( no intro) and the fact that Kiiara becomes a little too present in the song after the verse. I really like her verse And the armonies with Chaz ( And i drive myself Crazy ...) but the second chorus makes me cringe a bit because gives me the feeling of being in a Selena Gomez/ Miley Cyrus song for like 30 seconds

  11. Well yes it is better, but Mike's voice sometimes suits certain tracks more than Chester's

Yes i love Chester sweet voice ( some of my favourite LP tracks don't include screaming e.g. COG, Final Masquerade, Catalyst, LOATR, BTH...) but i wanna see Mike' s improvement in singing. That BID bridge in the live streaming on facebook was awesome

  12. Yeah that won't happen again. Maybe a song here and there, like Wastelands etc. but not an entire album. Which is cool because I wouldn't want it to. I like that they continue to reinvent themselves.

Yes, I mean i enjoyed Lost in the Echo, Wastelands and stuff like that but a whole album... no please. The thing i always loved about LP is their fresh sound and honesly Mike saying that this new record won't contain screaming or heavy guitars and not much rapping makes me quite happy because it means we 'll get s/thing new.

  13. That's my favorite, when people are like "I've been a die hard life long fan, but you guys continue to disappoint since Meteora!" As we approach the 15th anniversary of that album lol.

Yeah I mean, if you dislike 4 out of six records that a band has put out just stop caring about them! They will never make a nu metal record again because in 2020's it' d be out of place AF and it would probably be their worst record ever ( e. g. Korn, Limp Bizkit, Dangerkids,...)

  14. Hi i' m new here from Italy, i just wanted do say that I don' t get all the hate i see around the song. Yea it' s poppy and as far from THP as Meshuggah are far from Selena Gomez but hey : 1 it' s not that bad, chorus is super catchy and i love Chester's performance 2 LP always had really mainstream songs like BID, ITE, New Divide and so on... So it' s a sort of natural evolution for them, and I have faith that OML will be cool.
