  1. To be honest I am glad I did not purchase a special pricey edition of this release, considering the issues present many of you are talking about. I am super happy this release got us FF, one of my fav LP b-sides to date, and QWERTY on Spotify. As for the rest, I hope the release spreads LP fame among the casuals and potential young new fans. As many here said, this release is not exactly for us diehard fans but for someone who would go “oh wow, this 2006 song called QWERTY  wasn’t on any album and it’s so heavy”

  2. If we are talking about lyrics, you can't deny OML >>>>>>> THP, like the latter has some good lyrics like Rebellion or FM, but the generic anti - something stuff a la RATM is ehhh

I REALLY, REALLY don't agree with the sentiment of OML being unauthentic crap. Trendy? Yeah. LP did that shit with the famed Hybrid Theory too. But unauthentic??? It was probably, lyrically, the MOST authentic they possibly could have been. Songs about their families and loved ones, worry over disappointing people, remembering and reflecting, that's a side of LP we almost never saw in such a capacity. Yeah, it was done under a poppier guise because that's what got traction and that's what they were listening to at the time. It was what THEY were interested in doing, so more power to 'em! It's probably the best pop stuff I give a damn to listen to.

Friendly Fire blows THP out of the water lyrically.

But what about the "got" at the end? That is an effect on the vocal, instead of a pitch correction, right? It sounds more "watery" if that makes sense (not a musical background person with this stuff). So it could be a different vocal treatment of the entire acapella?

And the "oooohs" are very different.

  5. It’s so jarring and weird to have the album versions on Spotify, like, I can go past the 1 second of Blackout at the end of WFTE, but having the walkout noises and Chester talking at the end of LOATR and then there’s no BIO right after but another song (Lost or Numb, don’t remember the tracks order) is ehhhh

  6. I still do like the studio version of QWERTY but I have the same issues I have with some THP tracks.
About the title, I think it is a similar situation to Figure 09, the title matched with lyrics would be “behind your lies” as much as Figure09 could have been “become you” or something like that, but I love them keeping the demo title

Well they weren't made for public release is why you have the mixing differences and missing songs. They are just internal CDs for different purposes.

This makes literally zero sense lol

They should have done this with Lost and She Couldn't, though.

Man you can really tell they focused more on vocals than instrumentals on OML, the instrumentals sound so basic for them compared to all other LP albums.

Yeah this one sounds like a watered down and simplified version of Not Alone and Holding Company

    Another shitty cashgrab by WB.

I don't get this comment at all. Like, they released a capella and instrumentals all the time in their career, they challenged fans with remix contests... I can get the criticism over Papercuts in general, I do think a GH in 2024 is kinda pointless, but a cashgrab for ... this ? As if Warner is making a lot of money out of A capella and instrumental FF on streaming.

I was gonna say, weird that this will exist but not for the rest of OML, also surprising they never did it for Lost or any M20 songs last year. A remix contest seems such an effective and simple engagement strategy these days

yeah it could boost the streams/interest up. imagine a Lost remix contest with dozens of electronic/edm/etc remixes like they did with The Catalyst or stuff like that

The instrumentals + acappelas are a really weird situation with LP... they released the ones from the least popular albums and the ones that people needed remain unreleased.

specially the ones from HT and Meteora were the most needed... back then there was a huge remix community that needed those albums so bad.

Yeah it’s so weird that we got THP and LT instrumentals and acapellas on streaming services and no HT M and MTM which are the most successful albums by them. Like, we don’t have ITE or Numb instrumentals but we have War and UIB. So weird

  11. I think ATS20 will blow our mind, they could have so many unreleased stuff we don't even know. Like, I bet there are at least a couple of finished songs we never heard and alternative versions of album songs like Robot Boy with almost entirely different lyrics we got on LPU

in my mind the only thing that could work for them is to have some songs like Its going down, Papercut... do something like P.O.D or Limp Bizkit.

If the next album is OML 2 its going to flop for sure.

close the circle with a nu metal revival, bring back some Xero elements w Mike going all out with some nice riffs in the background.

They should have the mindset like when they were recording Meteora... in a sense that they basically have no songs to play w Mike as a lead singer, they need more songs that would work on a live environment.

    OML live is just ZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZzZZzZzzZ.........

OML live is what a live of OML should be, they cut some hits and that is weird but I love that they had the balls to put out a live album with 90% songs off that record
