Doubt it but IF they release QWERTY as a single before the Papercuts release, they really should include the live version of the song:
    1. QWERTY
    2. QWERTY (Live version)

probably won't happen and then we have to wait for a streaming release of the live version to MAYBE be included in MTM20 or something, but a man can dream 😅

Yeah the live version is 1000 times better, the studio version is cool but is kinda toned down in energy

Im so bummed because I think the chorus, mikes verse, and the beat to good goodbye are pretty damn good. It’s the features that completely ruin it for me. Lazy, cringe inducing lyrics. If they had not been on the track and mikes live 2nd verse was put in their place, I’d love the song. Something about it is really catchy to me and it’s pretty different than what they’ve done before.

I like GG, just don’t like Stormzy, wish Mike used his demo verse which is really cool. But now that we have FF I just think that songs exactly represents the vibe of the record and the idea of personal and intimate song a lot more than GG does. GG could have been a MS/FM song or have a place on a record like LT.

Sometimes I forget that Heavy exists. Friendly Fire is better for sure. I agree that a version of Heavy without Kiiara could be more interesting than the album version.

I love the live version thery did, but the album version is too Chainsmokers wannabe. It's the only time I kinda agree with haters/detractors when they go "this is not Linkin Park". IO don't hate the song, it's sweet but should have been just Chester or Mike/Chester or Chester + someone who sounds less teen pop. Ilike Julia Micahels more on the song

I think Friendly Fire is just ok. Not awful, but nothing great. I can totally see why they would exclude it from an album, but there is indeed some pretty bad songs on One More Light. I'd say Friendly Fire is at least better than Halfway Right and Good Goodbye. Maybe Invisible too.

I love HR, I love listening FF and HR back to back, they are complementary, that's the intimate/personal vibe that OML had in their intention. I love the album but GG, a good song, especially live, does not fit the vibe and Heavy would have been better without Kiiara (with all the due respect)

I listened to the entire discography yesterday and I had completely forgotten how annoying those vocals were, especially when you're playing the song loud. I also felt like skipping it when they started. I think the song is really good, Mike, blackbear and that other guy did great with it, but would be even better without those samples.

My issue is not the high pitched vocals, I like the song but i just can't imagine, now that we heard it, how can you leave out of the tracklist Friendly Fire and opt for SFN. FF is just too good for me

  6. As much as THP is my least favorite album by them, I totally agree with all of you that no THP is super weird and the label is the only one to blame (they’re guilty all the same, too sick to be ashamed!). Plus, yeah, the GH album is clearly due to the label pushing because of the great success of M20. Not a big fan of the release, but without it we would have never gotten FF that soon and QWERTY on Spotify.

it's not tally at all. i'm not sure what's the direction that Frank Maddock heading but he surely know what he did was right. maybe not for us but for the company he worked for.

Yeah they knew what they were going for, but I'm honestly not a fan of that kinda LPU artwork for an official release, but it's a minor complaint since we got an amazing song and video + QWERTY on stereaming

Very cool that they worked together on it.

I don't think it was just mixing. The distorted powerchords in the bridge/last chorus is not what they were going for with OML. Also, the huge drumfill before the last chorus.

I think they purposefully made it more rockband-esque. Even the intro with the organ-synth, I feel like it is more "rock" than the production that would have been on there in 2017... but it is, of course, just speculation. The song is only better for it imo, the band have a better idea of what they are now plus the OML-2010s-popsound is already dated.

yeah totally, like, the song probably went through some changes to make it iconic as it is, it's too good to be left out from the album. Almost "Primo" level

I like “Friendly Fire”, but as is the case with most LP studio tracks, I HATE the effects on Chester’s voice. It sounds more like AI than Chester himself.

Thankful we get to hear unreleased music, though, and finally have QWERTY on streaming services.

I hope the band never stop releasing material, especially if they want to open their live recording vault, which we know has hundreds of shows in it

I love the song, but yeah there are some weird effects on it

    Everything feels rushed, really.

The MS Already Over campaign felt like it would last longer (the first Studio Sessions had a 1month interval between them, and the 2 or 3 last ones had 1 week).
The Critters thing (his website game) also ended abruptly and some prizes are still to be acknowledged and delivered.

    Definitely something odd happened here.

But hey, let's enjoy! Thank you so much for releasing one more song with Chester ❤️ that's all that matters.

This ! The timing and the whole campaign is super odd, it’s like if the label pushed them to release FF, but no complaints at all, we’re getting the song like 10 years prior to my expectations 😂

im sure it is. maybe this wasnt on the band list for 2024 but if the label insists, well, here we go for the hundredth time..

Yeah this totally feels like the label pushes it, maybe due to contractual obligations as somebody already said. Like, Mike saying he didn’t like GH albums, nobody in the band ever hinting at 2024 being a “LP year” (as Mike did with 2023 instead), and the artwork that seems rushed, compared to M20 or HT20 where all looked more planned. But as a fan I am happy obviously

i dont know much bout Grammy but they dont really like Rock, Metal music. They all planted. They just nominated those bands to make ppl watch the show. I cant recall what year but Lorde won best rock music. It’s a total joke. Eminem already f**k the Grammys because he knows how the system went

Yeah I love Lorde but she won a Grammy in the rock cathegory for a song off her first record, which is a straightforward pop album from start to finish lol

  13. Having FF released YEARS before what I thought would be is just AMAZING, couldn't be more thankful, the possibility of another unreleased track being revealed is astonishing too.

So the artwork being kinda bad is a minor issue to me, all I care about is FF dropping on streaming platforms
