I remember back in 2012, Adam mentioned that Mike got tired of writing 'Lies Greed Misery' on all the CDs that were Scavenger Hunt prizes and started abbreviating it to 'LGM'. How many was that? Like 20 CDs. Now, 14 years later, they're going to have to autograph 500 books.

Yes, exactly! I knew everything you pointed out to me. I only brought this information to the forum to discuss whether his participation ends up being a clue about whether he will be on the next tour or not. What I find curious is that even though Alex is not an official member, he didn't feel like a support musician on stage. That impression only happened in the band's promotional material. For example, during Bleed it Out, he had a major spotlight moment with the lights focused just on him. His participation in her eventual tour could mean that he was already told he won't be on the next LP tour, or maybe that it will take a while to happen. I think right now we don't have clear information about this, but this participation is already the first clue for what we can expect. I just think it would be interesting for Linkin Park to keep a musician who is already integrated into the band, knows the whole setlist, and is very loved by the fans. Now, music is business. It's too early to speculate.

Yesterday Alex was playing with Halsey at Rock in Rio in Brazil. I don't know what this means about Alex possibly joining a future Linkin Park tour. According to setlist.fm and Halsey's official website, she doesn't have any more shows scheduled, and her last show was at the end of August in New Zealand. I completely understand why they ended Meet & Greets the way they used to be. It was exhausting, and they were probably worried about how people would receive Emily. That’s why I think the old LPU Summit format would be perfect right now. They could pick two or three cities a year and limit access to LPU members who have been subscribed for at least two years. This would stop random people from buying tickets just to hate on someone. It wouldn't be as exhausting, it would still be profitable, and doing it only a few times a year wouldn't burn them out. As for the LPU CDs, the issue might be production costs. Not many factories make CDs anymore, so pressing a limited run can be much more expensive than we think, especially when the LPU has to compete for factory time with big-scale releases from other artists. When it comes to the other merch being sold, I think it’s just bad taste. The people choosing the items don't seem to understand what real fans actually want. I’ll pass on the signed items. The prices they are charging for posters are insane. I’m really critical of this because artists hate it when fans resell stuff on eBay, yet they have no problem charging hundreds of dollars for a signed poster themselves. I think this is justified. In some markets, ticket demand is huge, whether people are hardcore fans or not. In Brazil, for example, many people sign up for the LPU the day before the presale just to get tickets. Some are real fans and some aren't, but this creates a situation where hardcore fans can miss out on shows or good spots near the stage because of someone who just subscribed and won't even renew next year. This tiered system is a way to make sure hardcore fans get priority for the best tickets. Unfortunately, it comes down to how much you're willing to pay every year for a fan club that honestly doesn't offer much else. For instance, I just renewed my LPU membership and my wife's simply to keep our status (one Legacy and one two-year Plus), even though it's unlikely they'll play in Canada over the next twelve months. Of course they have favorite fans. Naturally, they’re going to be closer to the fans who show up to multiple shows all over the world. I feel like they definitely favor people who are always present or who have traveled long distances. For example, at the Bogotá Listening Party in 2024, Adam let the Brazilian fans who had traveled to Colombia join the event even though they hadn't won the lottery, and without knowing anyone there personally. I even got a guitar pick myself once by talking to Lorenzo and showing him my shirt from the Seattle show while they were in Brazil. In my book, Adam and Lorenzo are above criticism when it comes to how they handle fans. I can even share a funny story about this. At the 2025 Vancouver show, I spent a few days talking to Adam about proposing to my girlfriend while Mike came over to us during his solo. Adam did everything in his power to make it happen. I told him I’d be at the barricade with a Brazilian flag. When the solo started, Mike came down and went straight to a Brazilian flag... except it belonged to someone else. Months later, Adam told me he never got confirmation on whether Mike would actually do it, but he had tried. I still think it was a huge coincidence that Mike walked right up to a Brazilian flag, handed over his hat, and interacted with it at a show in Canada. But either way, I ended up marrying my wife this past Saturday, September 5th, and we’re very happy. 🤣 I only shared this quick story to show how thoughtful Adam and Lorenzo are with fans, even with those who aren't super close to them, like me.

The LPU has become nothing more than an annual fee you pay just to get presale ticket access. Everything that made the LPU interesting is gone: M&Gs, live chats with the band, forums, exclusive CDs, etc. The band seems infinitely further away from the fans than they were between 2000 and 2017.

When they announced they were going to release the video for IGYEIH in Santiago, I thought it was really strange. It's not a very popular song from From Zero, and it was recorded at a minor show last year. I also felt it kind of interrupted the hype around Unshatter. Now that I've watched the video, I totally get why they released it. Emily was amazing!

Even if most of the money comes from Europe, you can't really skip a market like the US, even with lower demand there. They'll probably just drop dates in other countries to add more in Europe. I still think the next tour will have fewer shows and make less money, mainly because the comeback hype will have died down. It’s always been like that, to be honest. Europe always had way more dates than everywhere else, except North America, obviously. They was basically stuck to North America + Europe + a few short runs in other continents. Now, South America seems to be getting bigger. Don't forget that, when it comes to concert markets worldwide, Brazil is second only to the US.

I think it is very likely that this show will be released on physical media later. I really think that after the movie leaves theaters, the band will release a double DVD or Bluray, with one disc for the movie and another for the full concert without cuts. Because of this, it doesn't bother me that some songs are not on streaming, CD or vinyl right now. I think there will be more recordings of the show and it will still be released in full.

From what I understand, the Jade Vinyl will be sold in theaters, right? That's really interesting. I already bought the Transparent Orange and the Opaque White vinyls, plus the CD. Obviously, Emily doesn't sing some parts of some songs because she can't reach the right note. But that's not really a problem. The older songs were not written for her, and she performs most of them very very very well. In fact, this technique of letting the crowd sing certain parts of a song isn't even noticed by most people in the audience. Only those of us who follow every show (which is probably about 0.1% of the audience) notice it. We forget that these shows are planned for a single night, not to be followed from show to show like we do. That's why the fact that she skips some parts is barely noticed by the vast majority of the audience. They go to that one show, enjoy it, and then move on without following the rest of the tour.

I talked with Adam before the second show in São Paulo, and he assured me that they were not recording the second night. That's curious, because they wore the exact same outfits as they did the previous night, which doesn't really make sense if they weren't filming. That said, some filming equipment was indeed absent on the second day, such as the drone, for example.

It's really cool to know that the content produced in São Paulo 2024 won't be lost. That way, we don't have to worry about the LP Live team having to track it down 20 years from now. 😂 Personally, I have a few reservations about this show, even though I enjoyed it a lot on the day, but it's undoubtedly a historic performance.
