Those short tracks may be great listening all the way through an album but if you're shuffling songs, that could get really annoying and pointless. like in reanimation. If they're not good they're just taking up space imo...

I don't post here often, and im not really sure if anyone outside of mark even knows who i am, but after reading astats AWESOME post, i wanted to thank him for being logical about this debate. I havent been around the site much lately b/c i'm tired of reading posts from people who won't be satisfied no matter what. Disagreeing is OK, but backing your argument up with solid evidence seems to be missing from this board

Its clever from LP to release video at end of August. It kind breaks up the time between the release of The Catalyst and ATS. Gives fans something else to look forward to before ATS takes over the world!

And it's not a bad marketing scheme at all...the CD single comes out the next day. I've always had great respect for LP's marketing dpt. especially the whole twitter-to-free-me thing on the home page. pure genius.

Gang vocals sounds interesting and "genre-busting". something that could be either awesome or a disaster. It seems like that is the theme of ATS; it's purely hit or miss. I don't see this record being an in between. My personal belief? It will be the best and most diverse material they've ever made, and in a good way. A very, very good way.

I've been listening to the song all afternoon and I must say, it's a great song. I love it. I hope that A Thousand Suns does have some heavy guitar or screaming on at least one song, but I'm starting to highly doubt that. Which isn't a good thing at all.

Same. And it seems like both voices - especially Chester's - are being pushed to the limit and it's great. A certain elegance about it.

What's the point in hearing a chopped-down song when the proper thing releases tomorrow? Will be more exciting to listen to the whole song from start-to-finish as it was intended, not having already heard a cut-down version.

lol I agree. The game does look very well done and I'm sure they've worked very hard on it. I'm just simply trying to make the point that I don't see a band as big and as SMART as LP premiering their single on a video game trailer regardless.

Things I have learned from watching the video and reading this forum:

1. my opinion: BIG TIME love it/hate it tug-of-war going on inside my brain

2. It's a remix. Has to be. it's only 4 minutes of actual music and there are obviously parts where it's cut and pasted.

3. It's supposed to be progressive right? With that said, wouldn't there be a slow part cut (as mentioned) leading up to the EPIC ending of the song?

7. It's NOT August 2nd yet. MEANING: LP would go to all that trouble of having body guards (and sticking it in a 10 foot vault with motion lasers and 4 foot thick walls and a moat and a gorilla standing in front of it) to protect it from leaking. So why would they A.) let it all out TWO DAYS before the actual release, and B.) premiere a highly anticipated song on a mediocre video game? The pieces dont all fit.
