so theyre playing more than just the catalyst? cool
-
song is pretty good. album is really good. BUT WTF HAPPENED TO FORTUNATE SON W/SCOTT STAPP?!?!?! anybody know?
-
1/5? I havent listened to the album but this guy is a prick. I've never seen a review that refuses to shed ANY positive light on an album...I hope he's dead wrong about this album and that he's just a dumbass. But we'll see I guess.
And yeah NYDN sucks big time. Let's get some actual newspapers in here. My school newspaper writes better reviews than this and they have the highest admissions rate in the conference.
It wasn't even really a review it was a rant. A review would go through the entire thing in much more depth. This guy should be fired. Not for not liking the record, but for being such a one-sided douche about the thing and then writing nothing but mean shit. Bash the album, do what you want. But if you ever, EVER put Bieber in with linkin park, i WILL hunt you down.

LP have pushed the genre label since day one. People who are hating on them now are the ones who really liked what they did 10 years ago. Keep in mind when M2M came out they lost old fans and gained new ones. They will continue to do this as they progress as musicians. There isn't a single thing you can do about it. You either like the new stuff or you stick to HT and Meteora, no one is wrong in these arguments. What is wrong is when people slander each other because they dont like the 30 second clips or vice versa. I personally am on the fence with this album but I felt the same way when I first heard M2M, and now thats my favorite album of theirs. If I may take a line from Chris Jericho...LP are the best in the world at what they do. I have faith in them and dont think they will disappoint me and even if they do oh well, I still love what they have released in the past and I've always got that.
I don't think anyone could have said it better. And I believe on that note, we should all cease this waging war and WAIT to listen to the whole thing.
God bless us, everyone - we're a broken fanbase debating on a thousand suns...lol goodnight ppl

based ONLY ON THE 30-SECOND CLIPS
requiem - sounds pretty frickin sweet.
radiance - kinda cool, good build up but strange
burning in the skies - so disappointed. i was really excited for it but it sounds so generic.
empty spaces - didnt listen. savin it.
when they come for me - pretty cool. i like it. wanna hear some chester though
robot boy - ew. i do not like this so far.
jornada del muerto - has potential. i'll leave it at that.
waiting for the end - sounds really good. i think this one will grow on me.
blackout - cool screaming but i dont like how they mess with it and split it up
wretches and kings - easily one of my favorites.
wisdom, justice and love - i dont like that they changed MLK's voice. idk we'll see. piano sounds cool.
iridescent - i like this. a lot.
fallout - meh.
the catalyst - so far easily the best, unfortunately...
the messenger - WOW. actually this is the best. holy shit. great way to end it. wish it built up from acoustic guitar though.
overall, i know we cant judge it all on 30 second clips and i'm not going to yet but when they said it would be different, they werent kidding. again, we'll see. LP forever \m/

This song gives me chills every time. So good.
i was skeptical at first but adam youre the bee's knees so i trust you.
Sounds like it could be a great single. The reggae style is awesome but i am kind of hoping it isnt a trend throughout the album. It's a little harder reggae than in Wretches & Kings but still similar. This definitely has potential to be a chart-topper and finally dethrone OneRepublic's Secrets lol. Good song but the radio station here plays it 247 times a day lol
-
lol dingleberry. shoulda kept it that way. maybe on LPUX lol
-
awesome, the full experience here we go!...I think too...one step closer to the leak ^^
^ and im about ta break
-
Fat beat melted my face
haha same reaction for me dude.
-
this song is excellent. too different from the catalyst to compare though :/
4.8/5 lol
-
Great news!!! But...idk what to do!! I kind of want to listen to it for the first time ON THE ALBUM...but I am so tempted to listen to it!! lol what should I do??
Screw it. Just listened to the ESPN clip on LPA and nothing will stop me from listening to it tomorrow and 500 more times before the album lol and you bet your butt that sh*t is gonna be blaring from my car.
-
excellent review. love the insight and purpose it shows in the record.
-
That video was great. One of the best they've done. Would've liked more paint action though lol
Mtv was too blurry for me...excited for an HQ version
-
Mike is so dark...love the end where he's confronting the guy in the gas mask. B.A.M. = BAD ASS MIKE
-
It's gonna be on the DVD?! WIN. I hope it's on there in a video file for itunes, etc also...
-
this video looks like it could be the best they've ever done. I'm definitely going to buy it on iTunes when it gets released...
speaking of which does anyone know if blackbirds, the video, and the "full experience" will be "album only"?

What i'm wondering is if i'll be able to get a month membership for ten and still purchase the cd/whatever else they may have new for this year (ie. tshirt etc.)
of course, i know no one has the answer; my statement is rhetorical.
if that's the case though, paying ten for a month, and getting the cd, and whatever else, if at a reasonable price, then it wouldn't be that bad.
Hahninator said that the monthly membership entitles you to the merch store, so I assume you can join for a month and get any merchandise you want from the store including the LPUX CD and t-shirts
EDIT: This is incorrect. I read it wrong. As far as we know, you must pay $60 to have access to merch.
-
pretty exciting clip - looks like maybe there's a backstory or some kinda purpose behind this video...something that hasn't been extremely prevolent since WID and nothing acted out for it since From the Inside
-
Depends on which part of the nut he's using.
buh-zing
-
omg that was SICK. I think Phoenix should burp at the end of blackout. seriously.
-
I don't know if someone already posted it, but there is the video of the press conference on 1live.de

I don't think Mike liked the wurst lol
-
after reading the review again, I can't wait for this album either. It's gonna be so different I think that there will be no pure genre, no "radio singles". It will be one big artistic story. I was kinda hoping they'd turn it into like a "music movie" or something lol but man some of these things so almost like milestone calibur material
-
well, as expressed by the band numerous times, the point of the album isn't necessarily to listen to these songs randomly. they purposely made it a journey, (ana already has expressed the fact that she could barely make-out when a song ended and when another one began) and an experience in itself to listen to all the way through.
not pointless at all.
excellent point. I completely forgot about that. I feel kind of selfish now lol. Mike is a genius. I shouldn't question his insight. I should just stop panicking, wait for the album to drop, and judge for myself.
and this sounds like one epic and interesting journey...I wonder what the itunes "A Thousand Suns: The Full Experience" is now!!
