As I work on show pages and fixing a lot of stuff for the new version of our website, I need some help from you guys. If any of you collect older shows, or even newer shows and want to submit some interesting or funny or cool show notes, post them here. We definitely need help with this stuff. Anything that was written in shitty "first person" notes needs to be fixed ASAP too.

Some examples of what I wrote today and that I need you guys to help with:

Wantagh 2001: http://lplive.net/shows/20010809.php (which barely has any notes)

- The band had some equipment problems after 'With You', which delayed the start of the next song for a few minutes.

- Before 'A Place For My Head' (during the break), Chester said that the song was influenced by 'Rocket Queen' by Guns N' Roses. During the intro, he screamed "What doesn't fucking kill us makes us fucking stronger, am I fucking right?" three times.

- Brad started playing the usual 'In The End' guitar intro from 2001 after 'Crawling', but someone told the band that they only had time for one song left, so they went into 'One Step Closer' instead. Due to equipment problems, it is possible that the setlist was changed (since 'A Place For My Head' never was in the number two spot in the setlist) mid-show, but it is known that 'In The End' was at least planned to be played after 'Crawling'.

Obviously all of the shows don't need that many notes, but if there is something worth mentioning (like the frisbees on stage that Mike wanted to throw to Chester at Irvine 2001), then post it!

Stuff like the "Other Note" here about how the show was obtained need to be changed: http://lplive.net/shows/20040905.php or this show: http://lplive.net/shows/20040609.php

Thanks!

As an attendee of the Vegas show at planet Hollywood with front row view of Chester's zipper malfunction, I think a memory for many of us would be the beginning of "new divide" when the following is said

C: "I'm so excited my pants are coming off."M: "what were you saying?"C: "my dick was trying to come out of my pants."M: "never mind I didn't wanna hear it"(Both laughing)C: "I wear my pants so tight that it doesn't have far to go Cuz it makes it look bigger."

Just thought it would be something fun to add to the notes haha... Maybe a little inappropriate but still a great memory to those of us that were there... As well as those in my twitter timeline that couldn't believe it when I tweeted it!

:P

And One was the first new song the band wrote after Chester joined the band

source: Mike @ Rock am Ring '01

http://lplive.net/shows/20010603.php

Toward the end of the tour, Lars Ulrich put on fuzzy, pink bunny-ears and big green "Hulk"-fists and invaded our stage to mess around with us during our set. Later, on the last day of the tour, we were allowed to go on stage and pull a little pratical joke on Metallica, a feat that (as we were told) no band in twenty years has been allowed to do. We took a basket, blanket, and food onto their stage and had a little picnic as they played "Master of Puppets."

November 11 2010, at the O2 Arena

Chester described the venue as "one of the most beautiful arenas in the world".

When Mike asked the audience in the seats to all stand up, Chester said he'd rather do the show sitting down, and so sat down (for a few seconds). Mike found this rather funny.

Show Notes:

Approx. mid-show, Chester did his little "end-of-show" dance, like he does at the end of every concert. Unfortunately noone in the crowd reacted to it, which lead to Chester shaking his head in disappointment.

(If unsure what im talking about, this is the "dance" - http://youtu.be/KqtRzAGquVE?t=1h32m30s)

Other Notes:

The show was filmed and released on March 29, 2013 as a Living Things CD+DVD combo.

- Aaron Lewis from Staind came out on 'Crawling'.

- Brad played the intro to "A place for my head" on the acoustic guitar used for the previous songs. They paused after the intro and Brad changed it with the electric guitar.

edit:

just noticed another one:

- Phoenix plays contrabass during the acoustic songs. (At least I think it is a contrabass. My knowledge in Instruments is very low lol)

Seriously, best thread idea ever. The show notes is what makes the guide interesting. It's very annoying when you randomly browsing the show pages to find something cool and all you can see is empty spaces. Even pages of some of the most popular shows are criminally empty.

Imho, there should be everything remotely related to the show.

This thread is going to be huge.

EDIT:

08.07.2000 West Hollywood, CA, Whisky A Go Go

- At the beginning of the set Mike welcomed the crowd and thanked the previous band called Half Cocked for leaving the microphones smelling "fruity and fresh".

23.09.2000 Peoria, AZ, Peoria Sport's Complex, KEDG's That Damn Show '00

- A fan named Tyler that covered his whole body with Linkin Park stickers was invited to the stage for the band's entire set.

- Waterface, the band that originated from Chester's previous band Grey Daze, was also on the bill.

02.06.2001 Nürnberg, BY, Rock im Park

- Guns n' Roses, have cancelled their appearance only weeks before the festival. Failing to replace them, the organizers have just moved Limp Bizkit one slot forward and now they're headlining.

Center stage: Boy Hits Car, OPM, 3 Doors Down, Linkin Park, Kid Rock, Limp Bizkit

Alternate stage: Echt, Travis

- At some point of the day the presenters of the festival told the crowd that "There's a little change in the programme tonight: Slipknot will NOT play. Instead Linkin Park will play again. Slipknot have played a gig in Bremen last night, but since then the band has dissappeared, we have no idea where they are".

- Since the band filled in for Slipknot, Chester came out on stage with a paper mask covering his face. This doesn't go down exactly that well and people started booing.

02.02.2002 Madison, WI, Veterans Memorial Coliseum

- The venue's no moshing/no body surfing policy was completely forgotten once the band took the stage. Chester: "I see a lot of you fuckers surfing and moshing out there. We love that. Just show each other some respect. When somebody falls down, you pick 'em up!". He also added: "The strongest woman is a woman who comes to a Linkin Park concert. So when a woman crowd-surfs, that does not give you permission to grab her breasts."

25.07.2003 St. Louis, MO, Edward Jones Dome, Summer Sanitarium

- At some point of the set, Chester commented that the feedback from the crowd is so awesome it made his nipples hard.

Yeah I agree. We need to add a lot of stuff.

We can add a (LP Sanitarium Intro) to Don't Stay's set notes on SS03. Worth mentioning since Chester screamed over it at most of the shows.

Cicero 2003:

- Before 'Faint', Chester said there was nothing more unladylike than two girls fighting, and asked two girls to stop fighting near the front of the crowd.

- After 'Figure.09', while Mike and Chester were asking if the crowd enjoyed Mudvayne and the Deftones, Mike asked the crowd if they were ready for Limp Bizkit, which was promptly met with a loud chorus of boo's. At this show, Limp Bizkit was boo'ed off the stage six songs into their set due to the local radio host Mancow telling people in the weeks leading up to the show to throw stuff at Limp Bizkit at the Cicero show. The crowd boo'ed again before 'A Place For My Head' when Chester asked if they were ready for Limp Bizkit.

- The band made quite a few comments throughout the show expressing their happiness with how good the crowd was that day compared to other Summer Sanitarium shows. The crowd even started the 'A Place For My Head' bridge before Chester did.

- LP let the crowd sing the entire first verse of 'One Step Closer'. (not gonna add this part, but it's cool they let the crowd sing the ITE bridge at that show. Crowd was really responsive for LP)

A note to add to the source: Tracks are split really bad, sometimes they are split well into the song. (keep the By Myself note)

Is something missing between LFY and Papercut? The cut between the talking of Mike and Chester seems really weird. Between some of the other cuts it looks like there's 0.5-1.0~ seconds missing.

Chester forgot the words to the chorus of 'The Catalyst', prompting him to say, "I forgot the words. Welcome to rehearsal."

'Waiting For The End' and 'What I've Done' were not broadcast, likely due to Q&A being between those songs and 'Breaking The Habit' and 'LOST IN THE ECHO' respectively.

one of the coolest things about linkin parks set, was that during one step closer, mike jumped down to let people sing with him, and when the song was over. HE DIDNT LEAVE. instead, the rest of the band came down and talked to everyone in the pit. AND STAYED THERE for a good hour or so. signing everything that everyone wanted them to sign. they didnt even leave to go change clothes or NOTHING!! fxck yeah!!! i asked joseph hahn (their turntableist) about why they didnt play "my december" his comment: "we tried to keep it upbeat, if we played that live, everyone would fall asleep" ah hah.
