Deafandblind
As with each of the movie adaptations and the original comic book, underground music played a key role in the show. Bands such as Econoline Crush and Mudgirl made guest appearances on the show, while the source music included tracks by Rob Zombie, The Crystal Method, Delerium, Bif Naked, The Painkillers, Oleander, and Xero (a pre-fame Linkin Park). http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Crow:_Sta...to_Heaven#Music found this last year but totally forgot to post it here and remembered today, anyone wanna dig out the song that was played? Jgrosk
I think that this is fake. I checked a The Crow fansite with a list of every song used in every episode (http://www.thecrowsloft.com/crowtv/music.php) and there was nothing by xero. Nebz
Hi, this is my first post and I'm not really sure on the rules of bumping (since this topic is from December of LAST year) but I'd like to point out a song from "Xero" was actually featured on an episode. To be precise, it was Episode 20: Brother's Keeper. I'd say about 17 minutes into it a version of "Forgotten" can be heard. I spent some time looking it up days ago and couldn't find anything until today when I actually heard it for myself. Sooo... the Wiki doesn't lie. They are featured but not as an actual performance and from what I've seen with no credit at the end of the episode. Hope I've been of help... almost a year later EDIT: One thing is that whenever I searched for the song or about their performance this was always a top response/answer on Google. I figure it may help for those who may be redirected to the same place. sotrix
I can confirm that 16:15 - 17:18 in the episode "Brother's Keeper" there's a very old demo of Forgotten playing. Good job finding such an obscure tidbit and welcome to the forum. Astat
WOW. I assumed for ages that this was fake information, given that Xero wasn't actually in the credits for any of the episodes from the series. And that's definitely a different version of Rhinestone too, still with Mark on vocals, but the production is a lot more refined, sounds like some of Mike's lyrics are a bit different too. Best first post in LPL history, lol. Nebz
lol Thanks for the positive feedback. It's been a while since I've listened to anything Linkin Park related (probably since Minutes to Midnight's release) but as soon as I heard "From the top to the bottom..." the fanboy in my head went crazy! Glad this actually helped... somewhat... and hopefully will help others. I will make sure to check back around when I can. Astat
This revelation brings up an oft-asked question, but it bears repeating: How much material did Xero actually record that hasn't seen the light of day? Coal came completely out of nowhere when it showed up on LPUX, Chester's confirmed that one of the first demos he sang on was an instrumental version of A Place for My Head that Xero had already recorded, now there's this alternate version of Rhinestone that didn't appear on the demo tape, and given that Pictureboard was registered on BMI's song catalog, it's pretty safe to assume that was recorded at some point as well. Astat
It'd also be interesting to find out the story behind how Xero ended up being featured on this show. As unknown as they were at the time, they either had to know somebody who worked on the show, or someone who worked on the show had to have been a REALLY early fan of their music. SergSlim
Interesting how many of the stuff that people say is fake, is really true? Like first it was Plaster, that everyone said - does not exist anywhere, now it's this... etc, etc... raulgabi
I think the "From the top to the bottom" part is faster and the instruments are a bit like the "9 Track CD" Version of the song. And Mike sounds older and Mark too. Maybe this is a 1998 version. And made before Mark left the band. I'm only want to know if there is a version of "Esaúl" with Mark on vocals..... Sorry my english is bad... Quote Link to comment https://lplive.net/forums/topic/6399-xero-on-the-tv-show-the-crow-stairway-to-heaven/#findComment-146887 Share on other sites

Geki
Makes me wonder how many versions of Hybrid Theory songs had Mark on them, I think just By Myself, A Place For My Head and Forgotten did. Super Xero, Esaul and Rhinestone right? For years I have also wondered about Pictureboard... Great find. Coal also came out of no where, so who knows... raulgabi
Esaúl and Rhinestone is right but By Myself is not, because the first demo of the song was made in 1999 and its called "Sad". So the songs from HT that Mark on tham is probably: Esaúl, Rhinestone, Pictureboard. A seltlist include Untitled, Explode and The Team but thats fake because In The End was written by Mike after Chester came into the band, and Explode and The Team are fake names for Part of Me and Carousel. But yeah who knows, maybe someday the band will release these Xero demos.. Sad is the first demo made in early 1999. And it was remade when Chester joined and this is how "Super Xero" was created. Mark only did vocals to the 4 Xero Tape Songs and a remake of tham and Esaúl and probably Pictureboard.
