So what do you think?? I know both the sites are at good terms with each other and have many common members, so i do not intend to create any sort of rivalry between the two. I just wanted to know what you guys think. I think though LPA's layout and the amount of info about LP in it is great, it's lack of regular updates pissed me off (I folowed it for 3 years). And on 1 day it linked to LPL (She Couldnt Exclusive) and since then there's been no looking back ( I hope LPL 4.0 gives me more reasons to love it). And i was like : "Whoa! This site is GREAT!!!!" Awesome exlusives and regular updates hooked me on to it as they fed my insatiable love for LP. And ya if you throw LPTimes (I think its a bit messy and its updates are at times absurd) in the mix, this can be a great disscussion. So voice your opinions. GET SET GO!!!!!!!!!

Yeah, i totally agree.

LPL is ace for exclusives & news (not the mention the ultimate live guide it was named after)

and LPA is fantastic for Lyrics/tabs, discography, info, images and facts

And of course, they both have great forums.

but I don't care what Hahninator & Derek say, its LPL vs LPA to the death!!! :P you cant deny it!

hmmmmm, this is a difficult one, since LPL does post more news most of the time, but on the other hand, most of the stuff i see nowadays is Julien K crap (not to offend you JK fans or anything, but i dont like em) and i like LPA because of the discography information that they post, but they dont keep up with the news as much. so its pretty much a tie for me

I don't really like this thread...

But I'll tell my opinion on this.

I started as most of us, as a big noob in LP world.

LPA forums was the first place where I got so much support and new information, that I can't deny it's being one of the most greatest place for fans to talk about LP. It's a community of LP experts.

Though, after becoming LPL staff member I visited LPA quite rarely, due to me knowing a lot of info on my own already, and LPL having a lot of news on its own.

But still I do respect LPA a lot. And also we can't deny that it also was quite connected with the band, and had exclusive interviews, or releases sometimes.

But of course for me LPL is #1 LP related website nowadays.

I'd really like to see a better collaboration between these two sites, but I guess that's not gonna happen soon due to some disagreements between their admins, who, I hope, would make peace with each other.

Here we go....

LPA vs LPL!

I used to be a lurker at LPA a few years back. The site was fantastic, especially for new Linkin Park related news. This was still back when LPL was simply text files. I loved it at LPA. I would visit the site everyday, hoping something new from LP was announced. The one MAIN problem I had with LPA is their forum. You literally had to go through a mission to be able to post there.

I remember trying to register on several different occasions, and posting, and then waiting to have a moderator approve the post, and it never happened. It sucked because I had to wait for who knows how long to see my post on their forum, and it never happened. After a few years of trying to be a member on LPA, and it never happening, I became interested in LPL.

Believe it or not, at the time, I didn't really care about the set lists of each show. All I wanted to see was whenever LP played a song I liked, and I would remember youtubing that date and trying to find a live version of that specific song. I love live videos. lol.

At the time, I believe it was LPL V2, they had that PHPBB forum, which was cool. I remember thats when I became really active, just as a regular member and then I remember getting some kind of VIP status or whatever. I just remember my name being in like an orangy-yellow color. Contributor was it? I don't know. lol.

But once the whole thing went down where Fisico went and left, Mark put me on the Admin team, I set up this forum and started working on v4. Complications came up, which I won't get into, and even though Im no longer on the admin team, I still visit LPL for hours and hours on end, everyday, and always jot down new ideas, which I will pass on to the staff team one day.

Ever since I first became active on LPL, I never looked back towards LPA. However, LPA will always have a little place in my heart, and their new design is awesome!

As for the forum software... I work with multiple forum softwares for a living. I work for one of the largest vBulletin design companies online, and I'm telling you right now... LPL going to vBulletin 4.0 would be a mistake. I have no problem whatsoever with 3.8.x, but updates for it in the future will not be possible. 4.0 is a failure, and IPB grows stronger everyday. As long as LPL stays with this forum, and keeps the security on it up to date, and of course the design, LPL as a community has a very strong future. Very.

LPA is good but i agree with Legend's point, it was such an annoyance to be able to post on there, but i can see why because of spammers but the whole journey is sometimes not worth it . Other then that its a great site but i prefer LPL more. I sometimes go on the forums but theres really hardly that go on there. I like our got news section more because its a whole forum instead of a 100+page thread lol. But props to Derek for keeping it up and running all these years.

There's no reason for a vBulletin migration, Invision is just fine.

we have every reason to migrate over to vBulletin, its a lot easier to type where you want and see where you start typing in the text boxes, especially since im sure the majority of us are using firefox and Invision Boards are NOT firefox friendly Edited by Jay_Sensei

I rather think that this is your problem. And not firefox or Invision board's....

I have absolutely no problem with this board. I always see where I start typing...not sure what you mean.

Hey Jay.

I understand the issue you are having, as I had the same issue myself on this board. I never had the problem, but when they upgraded to IPB3, and then went back to IPB 2.3, that's when the trouble started happening for me. I do believe that is is either a forum error, or it CAN be an error on your side, but I doubt it.

Right now I'm on Safari for Mac, and have no problems, but I do remember when I used FireFox on a windows computer, I had the problem.

I have used Chrome religiously, and that's all I use on Windows based PCs. I used to use FireFox a lot, but after Chrome, I just used FireFox for some of its plugins (DownThemAll).

Chrome would be a good choice bro.
