RogueSoul Posted Thursday at 10:58 PM Posted Thursday at 10:58 PM What a week it has been in the Linkin Park sphere! Just days after playing their biggest headline show ever in Berlin, Linkin Park return to the stage in Switzerland for a show at Bern's Bernexpo Areal Openair on June 20, 2025 for their first show in the country in eleven years! That's right, the last time Linkin Park visited Switzerland was back in 2014, on the opening night of The Hunting Party European Tour that fall in Zürich. Opening the set with a mashup intro right into the legendary 'Guilty All The Same,' having fans face the full force of The Hunting Party right off the bat. The set was dotted with treats including a version of 'Dirt Off Your Shoulder/Lying From You' and an instrumental 'Blackout' jam into 'Papercut.' The band snuck a few more tracks from the record into the set too, including 'Rebellion' and 'Wastelands,' the latter of which transitioning out of a shortened version of 'Runaway.' The band performed in the country earlier in the year as well on the first European Tour for The Hunting Party, performing at the Greenfield festival for the penultimate show of the tour. While the set was quite similar, some key differences made the show special in its own right: a verse of 'Hands Held High' appeared over Mike's solo medley for the second and final time ever, and the encore featured 'Until It's Gone' with its rare mashup intro that incorporated the 'No More Sorrow' riff into it. A rare performance of 'A Light That Never Comes' happened during the encore, as well! This was the band's first time playing the festival, after having to have cancelled an appearance there (and Hultsfred in Sweden) in 2008 due to Brad having an ear infection. Having not had a proper European Tour for the Living Things World Tour, the band's last appearances in Switzerland before this were during the A Thousand Suns World Tour. The latter performance was once again the penultimate show of its leg, a show at OpenAir St. Gallen being the penultimate stop on the 2011 European Tour. Featuring selections from the new album like 'The Catalyst' and 'Iridescent' as well as classics like 'From The Inside' and 'Lying From You,' the band rocked the festival in a big way. One song missing though was 'One Step Closer' - the only time in Linkin Park history the song had been dropped from two shows in a row. The band's headlining show in Zürich in 2010, luckily, did not miss the song as it closed out the main set after 'Crawling.' This set featured even more tracks from A Thousand Suns, including a rare 'Wretches and Kings!' The chorus of 'Burning In The Skies' also made an appearance during the extended bridge of 'Bleed It Out.' Linkin Park performing 'The Requiem,' 'The Radiance,' and 'Wretches and Kings' to open their show at the Hallenstadion in Zürich, Switzerland on November 1, 2010. 'Wretches' is a song we've been asking to see back in the sets since 2011 - will this new lineup make our wishes come true? During the little in-between 'New Divide' era in 2009, the band played a headlining show in Zürich (amongst a sea of festival stops). Opening with a rare 'Session' and 'Given Up' combo, the band marched into Switzerland in full form! Lots of great moments occurred in this set, including an epic 'Points Of Authority' featuring a 'Petrified' verse in the intro and 'A Place For My Head' (with vocals from Chester) during the outro going straight into 'What I've Done' with the AMBO Intro, as well as the 'Hands Held High' and 'KRWLNG' intro to 'Crawling,' featured both 'Hands Held High' verses. In 2008, the band performed in Basel for the third stop on the Minutes To Midnight Winter European Tour, introducing Set R to the world. Opening with a massive back-to-back combo of 'No More Sorrow' with its long intro into 'Don't Stay,' the band's new setlist made splashes right away. Rarities like 'Valentine's Day' (which Brad and Chester started in the wrong key, eventually fixing themselves as the rest of the band came in) and 'The Little Things Give You Away' rounded out the set before 'One Step Closer' with its gunshot intro and extended outro and 'Faint' closed out the show. The band's very first show in Switzerland was in the summer of 2007 in Zürich in the middle of the band's first proper tour in three years: the first Minutes To Midnight European Tour. With songs like 'What I've Done' and 'Leave Out All The Rest' fresh off the press, the band proved that they were back in business in full form. With an opening of 'One Step Closer' into 'Lying From You' and 'Somewhere I Belong,' it was hard to ignore the band's energy on their return. The same fervor will make certain that this show in 2025 only adds to the memories in Switzerland! And while Linkin Park hasn't been in Switzerland in over ten years, Mike Shinoda visited the country on the final leg of his Post Traumatic Tour in 2019. With a huge hip-hop opening sequence of 'When They Come For Me' and 'Remember The Name,' Mike brought his show to life right away before launching into his newer tracks like 'Ghosts' and 'Hold It Together.' Mike brought out many rare tracks like 'Nobody Can Save Me' (the first taste of One More Light music in the country after having not been stopped at on its tour), 'Sorry For Now' (complete with an extended bridge with a drum solo, the demo verse of 'Lift Off,' and the chorus of 'Step Up') and the tour debut of 'Kenji.' The Post Traumatic Tour, much like the From Zero World Tour, was full of surprises in every setlist! Mike Shinoda performing 'Nobody Can Save Me' at Halle 662 in Zürich, Switzerland on March 17, 2019. One More Light has yet to receive pretty much any love on the From Zero World Tour so far - which song will be the first to make its debut with the new lineup? Speaking of history, the band just played the biggest headlining show of their career at a sold out Olympiastadion in Berlin, Germany at their last show. Bringing out Set B6 for a run, featuring 'Iridescent' during its interludes and intros, the band came out in full form to 'Somewhere I Belong' before launching into the first surprise of the night: the return of 'Cut The Bridge,' being performed for the first time in six shows (since Greenville, South Carolina). As the band moved into Act II, the crowd truly set alight: after an already impressive showing in Hannover a few days ago, Berlin blew things out of the park with the activity in the pit during 'Two Faced.' It's hard to tell exactly how many moshpits are going, but one thing for certain is that the crowd in Berlin was one of the best the band has seen... maybe ever! Mike whipped out the demo verse of 'Lift Off' for this solo medley for the first time since Raleigh, North Carolina to continue the Post Traumatic anniversary celebrations before the band kicked into 'Given Up' for the first time in ten shows, 'Given Up' last being performed in Tulsa, Oklahoma. 'Good Things Go' returned for the ballad rotation also for the first time in Greenville, and 'Overflow' featured Mike playing 'One' by Metallica over its extended intro. The rest of the set continued with highlights like 'Let You Fade' and a punk rock 'Numb/Encore' intro to 'Numb' before the band ended the night with an epic 'Bleed It Out.' Who would've thought a year ago that we'd be covering the biggest shows of the band's career in 2025? With an eventful show in Berlin, the surprises can only continue in Switzerland! If you want to see one of the craziest Linkin Park crowds you've ever seen, look no further than this video of 'Two Faced' live in Berlin, Germany on June 18, 2025 from sckofelng. Haven't seen something like this at a Linkin Park show in a long time. Even though we're five shows into the tour, we're still missing a handful of songs from the rotations. With 'Let You Fade' taking over the encore rotation, the positions of future 'A Place For My Head' and 'From The Inside' performances are uncertain, though the latter replaced 'Crawling' in Czechia for the Rock For People festival. Meanwhile, fans were quick to notice that while Post Traumatic has gotten ample celebration, The Hunting Party has yet again been cast aside for its birthday week and has been absent from the sets since 'Keys To The Kingdom' was last played in Grand Rapids, Michigan. It's not too late for the band to get in on the birthday festivities - 'Keys' would be excellent to see, or perhaps a revival of 'All For Nothing' to really nail home that #JusticeForTheHuntingParty? It's also getting increasingly long since we've last heard 'Stained' and 'IGYEIH' in a set - will they return in Switzerland? Let us know what your best guesses are! grandson will be opening the show for his final opening appearance with Linkin Park this tour. grandson has been opening shows ever since the very first set of shows in 2024, and has been a rebellious presence at every show he's played! Whether he's onstage with Linkin Park screaming 'One Step Closer' or on his own stage performing hits like 'Blood // Water' and 'Overdose,' his presence is known and takes a spotlight of its own. He throws in a couple new tracks including 'Self-Immolation' and opener 'Bury You,' so it won't be long before he's back on the road again as he gears up new music. If you can catch his set, be sure not to miss it! Linkin Park performing 'One Step Closer' with grandson at the Olympiastadion in Berlin, Germany on June 18, 2025. One last run with grandson - we're sure he'll make it count! Who's going? Weatherman Rogue Soul happy to report that we are keeping our streak of beautiful days going with a fifth show in a row! Ironic, as I am currently writing this with my power out from a storm. It'll get pretty hot in Bern with temps up to 29°C in the afternoon before dipping down to 15°C at night - this is an outdoor show, so maybe bring a hoodie just in case it gets a bit chilly! After this show, Linkin Park return to their festival circuit with a headlining appearance at Hellfest in Clisson, France and I-Days in Milan, Italy. The band return to headline stadiums next week with shows in Arnhem, Netherlands and an incredibly massive show at London's Wembley Stadium. We've been updating our Linkinpedia show pages over the last few weeks leading up to the tour with new features like more statistics, highlighting rotation songs, a banner at the top of the guide, and lots more, so be sure to head over there and explore what we've been up to! We've also recently launched an LPLive Newsletter for those looking for more of a TL;DR version of what's going on with the tour than my pre-show posts - we'll be sending it out every couple of weeks so as to not flood your inbox, but we'll be bringing you an overview of both tour and general news updates in these, so be sure to sign up if you haven't already! We'll have you covered on everything the band does at this show and everything they whip out for the rest of the year, so be sure to sign up on the forums and follow us on social media (Twitter/X, Instagram, Facebook)! bloodbath Posted yesterday at 01:10 AM Posted yesterday at 01:10 AM Very happy with 2025 so far. Long shows, lot of tracks played... The more we see the more I believe they should release a proper live album. Quote
LPLStaff Posted 20 hours ago Posted 20 hours ago Never forget the first Swiss show... the infamous FUCK YO SIDE Bleed It Out! I saw LP in Zurich in 2009 and Mike in Zurich in 2019 - I definitely will return one day. Great place to see a show! Quote
marzo23 Posted 17 hours ago Posted 17 hours ago Sooo... wish all so much fun like i had the last two shows hehehee Hopefully they will play a few different songs tonight Quote
SinisterNL Posted 10 hours ago Posted 10 hours ago Speculation! Well about it later. We just know LP doesn't just cancel for a stubbed toe. Best of luck whoever! Quote
wenom1000 Posted 9 hours ago Posted 9 hours ago I hope Poland after 2 weeks not going to be cancelled. Quote
linkin_boss Posted 3 hours ago Posted 3 hours ago I can imagine they have their reasons not to disclose who or what it is. I hope everyone is alright, these very vague announcements make me worry a lot. Quote
silverwing Posted 3 hours ago Posted 3 hours ago Weirdest thing is they just not replacing, as they did many times, if the one sick is Joe/Colin/Alex/Phoenix. Their technicians usually know how to play the whole set too. Quote
Fleur de Lys Posted 3 hours ago Posted 3 hours ago I would guess that it is Emily who is sick just from the vagueness of their post. They chose to not be specific about who and what exactly to not feed the internet/media hate. Quote
linkin_boss Posted 3 hours ago Posted 3 hours ago (edited) Please delete it posted twice unintentionally Edited 2 hours ago by linkin_boss Mistake Quote

It's not like they'll have a vocalist replacement at hand. (Which has always surprised me when other bands pull it off) Quote
