I bet it's a sort of mirroring lyrics, a reference. Lyrically the album is one of their weakest TBH, kinda formulaic and repetitive, but hey, sonically is amazing Quote Link to comment https://lplive.net/forums/topic/17857-from-zero-album-discussion/page/9/#findComment-338510 Share on other sites

I see a loooot of artists who had lyrics that repeated only in chorus, where they are making the point -> to now, where its 1-2 lines of some sort of lyrical content and then 1-2 words repeat over and over again (pun intended) even now that I write this I have OSC in my head, which now ppl think is the core for Two Faced. Lyrically comparing this album to previous ones, is not bad but I really want to see the process that went on creating these songs. Everybody says this, but the structure is more "Don't Stay" or "Figure .09", the second one is A LOT more similar. But Mike said it was more a reference to Xero than to HT or Meteora. KeysToTheLinkinPark
The clean guitar part in the intro and during the verses are quite a reference to Xero songs like Dialate. That intro sample as well might even be from Fuse. Two Faced definitely has a Xero vibe with modern production ofc. Soeffingnaive92
Yeah Two Faced reminds me of Figure 09 and By Myself but it has strong HTEP/Xero vibes. The comparison with OSC is not very on point because I get the OSC mirroring in the bridge and the main riff but the rest sounds nothing like OSC lol, it has rap verses and the chorus melody is totally different Quote Link to comment https://lplive.net/forums/topic/17857-from-zero-album-discussion/page/9/#findComment-338533 Share on other sites

Is it because Emily whispers before the breakdown and Mike does so in BM? Everything else from the vocal delivery to the music is not comparable at all. Maybe I can't hear it because I understand the riffing, but this comparison doesn't hold up. The song as a whole has nothing in common with BM. hybridcloudyfz
realized a bunch of you were ranking the albums again...i hate hate hate ranking lp albums because it's so damn hard to decide 😂 but here's my personal decision. probably going to change again in the near future. (trying not to go into detail mostly for myself, because i'll overthink my decisions again and again if i do, haha.) 1. ATS 2. FZ 3. meteora 4. LT 5. HT 6. THP 7. MTM 8. OML i'm restraining my fingers from typing more. yes, i put hybrid theory at 5. yes, i prefer LT (as a whole) over HT (i'm sorry i know that's so controversial) but it really depends on mood, you know? LT and meteora were the first albums that i truly got into/loved the entirety of. then it was ATS, obviously now it's FZ. ATS still remains my favourite. if i'm being honest, the reason i don't prefer HT over the four i put above it is probably because i don't have that authentic experience with it "all being the start of linkin park". of course i know this, but as someone who found the album twenty four years after it came out, it doesn't have that significance for me like it might for some of you 😅 i hope that makes sense. and yes, i'm not that big of a fan of MTM - i REALLY adore TLTGYA, though. It has some of the dark nu metal feel of that song with the whispering etc... it's not a tight comparison, I mean it's not as close as Figure 09 or the CTB- BIO or Faint - HITC, but it has that kind of vibe. It's like Overflow feeling TS-ish without being preciselt comparable to a specific ATS song Edited December 4 by Soeffingnaive92 Quote Link to comment https://lplive.net/forums/topic/17857-from-zero-album-discussion/page/9/#findComment-338549 Share on other sites

It has a similar vibe even if it doesn't really have anything directly comparable. I even had that it reminds me of By Myself in my notes I took at the listening party. I agree that there are songs that it's much more directly comparable to. JZLP-Benningstrong
I feel so freaking happy that scratching its back with LP but i dont know man.. it still feels minimum to me i wish scratching was way more prominent and had a better sound. Hopefully it becomes part of the main tools for the next album! LPLStaff
Scratching is so core to the Linkin Park sound. Check out the My December video they posted from Germany. Joe adds so much to it... really good. Quote Link to comment https://lplive.net/forums/topic/17857-from-zero-album-discussion/page/9/#findComment-338642 Share on other sites

FZ scratching feels just like a support tool instead of an actual element.. Hahn has some really cool scratching that have certain melody that could be remembered and create an impact like With You, Catalyst or Papercut just to name a few. I dont really remember how any of the scratching in FZ sound like they were very basic and generic. Make Scratching Great Again lol Quote Link to comment https://lplive.net/forums/topic/17857-from-zero-album-discussion/page/9/#findComment-338671 Share on other sites

martinez
After I made the exclusive post just for the spot 9, like two pages ago, here's now the top 8: 01.The Emptiness Machine 02.Good Things Go 03.Overflow 04.Cut The Bridge 05.Over Each Other 06.Stained 07.Two Faced 08.IGYEIH I have to admit that after some time I find some of the transitions annoying, the one in OEO and GTG, which for GTG I might be wrong that I called it a transition, there is no next song, but anyway as for those transitions, I think I prefer when the song ends, it actually ends and there is nothing after that don't belong to it.
