YABEAT is the breakdown beat from "Blue" (need to slow down by 50%)

nice find! it's the breakdown before the end

Also this made me finally realize where I knew PNNYAHHH sound from - it's in Blue too after the first chorus

Seems like the origins of Blue were called something like YA

I knew about the PNNYAHHH sample being in “Blue” for quite a while now.

Sample23 from the SNDS1 folder sounds like, and could be, a sample from Heartburn, a 2007 Demo.

Sample41 from the SNDS1 folder sounds like, and is most likely, a sample from New Divide.

Sample60 from the SNDS1 folder sounds like, and could be, a sample from Plastic, a Stagelight sample.

Sample61 from the SNDS1 folder sounds like, and is most likely, a sample from Blackout.

Sample65 from the SNDS1 folder sounds like, and is most likely, a sample from Blackout.

Sample66 from the SNDS1 folder is another sample from Blackout.

Sample68 from the SNDS1 folder sounds like it’s either a sample from Iridescent or Holding Company/Lost In The Echo. Edit: It’s actually a sample that would later be used on I’ll Be Gone.

Sample69 from the SNDS1 folder is another sample from Blackout.

I feel like Sample18 from SNDS1 might be a sample of World's On Fire, but I'm not too sure.

Sample12 sounds similar to something I’ve heard before, but I can’t remember what it came from.

Sample17 also sounds similar to something I’ve heard before, but, again, I can’t remember what it came from.

Sample44 also sounds similar to something I’ve heard before, but, again, I can’t remember what it came from.

The folder contains what sounds like are Minutes To Midnight and A Thousand Suns samples.

There are more samples as well. I might need help figuring out what the rest belong to. But for now, these are all I could hear and understand as being a sample of those specific songs.

Just realized the SNDS1 folder is identical to PACMANNYNEW, so no such thing as an MTM folder, but rather Mike reusing certain samples.

Other than that: NIN_BLUE from Xero Current was used in Lost In The Echo on the second half of the "let you gooooo" bridge. ("We don't use samples by other bands" my a** hahaha)

Meeting up with a Nine Inch Nails expert today, hoping she can help out with all those NIN samples in there.

on "MIKE MPC" folder we have some .APS files... when you open it on Wordpad or Hxd you get all the sounds that were used for the song... Goop in this example: https://imgur.com/a/1aMsIG3
These are all the .APS files that we have on this folder: https://imgur.com/dF4oeDt... i will try to find more.

Weird, this is what I did to create this list, but for some reason I didn't list Goop. If I remember correctly, there were some songs that didn't show the list of samples for some reason. I'm not really sure if I opened the .APS files or something else, but the software I used was Notepad.

I think a sample being listed there doesn't necessarily mean it was used in the song. Mike might have loaded all those samples into the project but ended up not using some of them. I believe the only way to be sure is to actually open the projects in the MPC software and see which samples are being played.

ADAM12PIANO was used in Grr

I believe that sample is from the Adam-12 Theme. It was a TV show from the late 60's. Thanks to MS2000 I see the sample was loaded into Goop as well.

we can actually open the sequence of the song on MPC, lol, i'm working on this :)

What about the RAKIM sample? It comes from a Rakim song, which one is it though?

Edit: Found the Rakim song.

Edit (again): It's already been found.

Also, "R!RIDE1" sounds like it's a sample from Chair (1999 "Part Of Me" Demo).

not sure if I hear piano at all, surely no piano chords sadly EDIT: there's some subtle piano, but not the right tones

might be from that show though

found a Sample used by Mike on "Beat 4", the sample is named "Bond1" on the "Mike_s Beats #1" folder...

Beat 4 (isolated):

Original Sample:

The "NINAIR01" sample comes from the Nine Inch Nails song "Closer".

Edit: The “MOBB1_SN“ sample, that was sampled in “Dialate”, in the chorus, comes from the Mobb Deep song “Eye for an Eye (Your Beef Is Mines)”.

Not too sure if the “mobb_kic“ sample, that was also sampled in “Dialate”, is from the same song or a different Mobb Deep song, though.

I'll try to find more information on the other samples.

The "epmdstic" sample, that was sampled in Emo (She Couldn't Demo), comes from the EPMD song "Last Man Standing".

The "EPMDCLAP" sample, that was also sampled in Emo (She Couldn't Demo), comes from the EPMD song "Do It Again".

Edit: The "epmdnote" sample, that was also sampled in Emo (She Couldn't Demo), may come from the EPMD song "Da Joint", but I'm not too sure, though.

Edit: The "deftones" sample comes from the Deftones song "Around The Fur".

The "DEFTKICR" sample comes from a different Deftones song, not sure which one, though.

Not sure which Paul Weston song contains the "P_WESTON" sample.

Also, not sure which Nine Inch Nails songs contain the "NIN_BLUE" or "NIN_CRAK" samples.

Also, not sure which Outkast song contains the "OUTKAST_" sample.

Edit: They also might have sampled Limp Bizkit, judging from the "LIMPKICK" sample located in the NewFinishesA folder.

I might need some help with figuring out some of these samples.

Hey, i have a new found.... whoever exported the "Hybrid Theory Demos" forgot alot of sounds, in this case... Goop https://imgur.com/a/yTPHvtK

I thought that this was an alternative version that Mike probably worked at some point after he first made the beat...

But NO.... there's some sounds that don't play on the project https://youtu.be/6CI0XLvjIEk?t=72

the sample of this snare is called "D_ANGELOSNAR2" and it don't play.

Here in 1:26 we can hear this drum in the background https://youtu.be/6CI0XLvjIEk?t=86
These drums samples are called "PENNYBUMS1" and "RACOSNARE"
and it was supposed to play in this part of the song... https://youtu.be/3bI1wVcfiyk?t=45

Anyways... i will try to fix it and see if we have more "hidden" sounds from these demos!

Another discovery.... remember "TUFF" from the MIKE  MPC folder that doesn't had an .SEQ file? for my surprise it contains the exact same samples from "AL_INTRO"
https://imgur.com/a/8tbUlep

it would be a great update to the LINKINPEDIA page tho... http://linkinpedia.com/index.php?title=Hybrid_Party_Of_A_Thousand_Things

Edited by unksoldier2000

I noticed that two pads were turned off in the "Oh No" project, turning them on, I heard an alternative riff at the beginning (Manson sample) and the lead part.

OhNo

Upd: Stick 2 is definitely something different than Stick And Move... These "Windy" breaks seem foreign here...

I believe the final compilation was done by me. I did mention in this thread some samples might be loaded into the projects but not used in the songs. Maybe back then I thought that was how Mike originally intended the songs to be. This is some pretty clear evidence I was wrong. That was before we discovered some of these demos were used on LPTV, LPUTV, etc. and were missing parts. I think it could be interesting to hear the demos with all the tracks turned on. Great find!

Updated. I actually remember noticing the same thing. I believe "Al_Intro" stands for "Album Intro." Could be the case of Mike creating a demo and then renaming it to use as an intro to Hybrid Theory that was later dropped.

This is interesting. Tasty Gas Station Breaks From The Orient contains the beat from this song as well and the beat from Papercut was supposedly inspired by it. Chino even accused Linkin Park of stealing their song at one point.

It's ok, i just noticed this because i was finally able to open the projects on MPC desktop.... i wanted to see if the sounds from this version of LPTV existed on the project... when i opened Sequence6 i noticed that it had a sound that was muted... that Snare.. at this moment i asked myself if the other demos had these muted sounds.... that's the good part of being too curious, lol... and i plan to released this version with the muted sounds turned on ;)

i guess it is, i wonder if there's a project for the other beats.. like Grr or the unreleased beats from LPTV, thanks for the update :)

I've tried editing my previous post with the list of samples used in Beatbeats and Sad but the stupid site wouldn't let me edit it anymore. I'm just gonna leave it here:

Found the origin of another sample:

- CSL_METH is from Vapor Trail by The Crystal Method.

I think the samples starting with "RAE" might be from Raekwon.

The "FRESH" sample comes from the Beside song "Change the Beat (Female Version), the exact same sample that was sampled into Linkin Park's "Forgotten". The sample was also in "Mista Hahn's Tasty Gas Station Breaks From The Orient".

The sample is near the end of the song.

The way I found out that Linkin Park's "Forgotten" sampled from Beside's "Change The Beat (Female Version)" is here.

I might be mistaken with the "Mista Hahn's Tasty Gas Station Breaks From The Orient". I can't seem to find the sample, but I swear I thought I heard it on there before.
