Geki
So is it safe to say that Rock Am Ring 2004 is considered the greatest show of all time by the fan base? Seems to be the unofficial best show of the band and it has been for years. Even fans who dont really know the band know about the show. Lol. leftshoe18
I think the availability of the show helps but it is definitely one badass show.
Sand0ry
I would say its definitely "one" of the best not "the" best. I also enjoyed Milton Keys, Madison Square Garden, RaR 2014, Berlin 2012 (Telekom Street Gigs had a great sound!), Southside 2017... and a lot more

RAR 2014, Southside (my favorite show of 2017), Berlin 2012 (did have a really good sound, I love watching the DVD). GlassCastles
The 2006 shows are definitely up there, too.
RentEznor
Great, but it's easily one of those shows that gets ridiculously overhyped & overrated by many fans, like LIT. Lisboa 2012 was amazing, MSG 2011 was one of my personal favorites. Russia 2011 was also great. Summer Sonic is up there too (2006 & 09, 13 felt kinda weird). There's many I could choose. Twiilite
As most people have already said, Rock AM Ring 2004 is a fantastic show, but its overrated due to its availability and video quality. Not only did Project Revolution 2004 feature a better setlist (that godly Figure.09 extended transition into From the Inside), Chester's screams were simply unrivalled on performances like Mountain View, except for Summer Sonic 2006 which we can't fully judge because we don't have the full set. I'd even argue RAR 2007 is superior thanks to that legendary Faint closer alone.

I'd even argue RAR 2007 is superior thanks to that legendary Faint closer alone. We have full audience recordings for 3 of the 4 Summer Sonic 2006 shows (Tokyo has a few missing spots here and there but it's close to complete). And his singing/screaming was great at those shows, but I still don't think it rivaled 2003/2004 Chester. I love Minutes To Midnight and I think the tour for Minutes To Midnight was one of the best, but it still doesn't come close to rivaling 2003/2004 Chester. So I agree on the fact that Projekt Revolution 2004 had a better setlist and screaming, 2004 was still a great year overall. The problem with Projekt Revolution 2004 though is that some of the shows aren't as good as others, which is normal. For example, I think Camden 2004 is much worse of a show than Rock AM Ring 2004. Somerset and Mountain View are great from PR04, those are Godly. Charlotte is somewhere in the middle. And the other sources are shitty quality like Darien Center, but I can tell even by the low quality that Darien Center was epic. Live In Texas is probably the best sound the band has ever had for a SBD recording, IMO. Mike and Chester were of another world at that time, especially Chester. And the guitars were turned out super loud in the mix which I loved because guitar is fucking awesome. Edited June 5, 2018 by Geki
DexLP
I would consider Berlin 2012 Telekom Street Gigs as my favorite. Best audio quality and mixing I've ever heard from a LP concert and the band did an awesome job, especially Bleed It Out got me. My second fav is Guitar Center Sessions 2014, Camden 2014 and 2012 MTV World Stage Monterrey.

My second fav is Guitar Center Sessions 2014, Camden 2014 and 2012 MTV World Stage Monterrey. Those are all good. I love watching the Berlin 2012 DVD, I agree that the sound quality is excellent. Live In Texas has always been a guilty pleasure of mine even though the sound was overly tweaked up and the guitars were cranked up, etc. It's nostalgic and just a badass show to me. I also love watching the DVD for it with a few beers, etc. A lot of people think 2004 is like the holy grail, but I think 2003 is better, honestly. 2003 was so sick, you just have to listen to the right shows. Guitar Center Sessions 2014 is good, but not holy grail worthy to me. Camden 2014 also is one of my least favorite Carnivores shows even though it's really the only full source we have in SBD quality. Hollywood Bowl had a much better mix and was a much better show to me, I just wish we got GATS and GU in full from it. Surprised that those have never surfaced. Bottom line, there are a lot of just really great shows and I think a lot of people naturally will say the shows that they have the closest bond to are their favorites. Rock AM Ring 2004 is good but Live In Texas was the first real time I ever heard a live recording of LP and I still love it.
