song note:

Brad repeatedly plays a note after Chester's vocal outro to ITE, and continues it right up until he starts APFMH. the note he plays is the 2nd piano note from ITE's intro, and is also the 2nd note (3rd, 4th, 5th pluck) of the intro to APFMH (the note's an octave above the 1st note for both). would that be considered some sort of transition outro/intro since the note is "relevant" to both songs?

show notes:

  • Chester replaces two alternate screams in the By Myself intro with the phrase "pick 'em up!", having just spent a few moments reminding people to help others who fall down in the pit.
  • Mike switches up the call-and-repeat at the end of Step Up, with the phrase "when I say 'Mister', you say 'Hahn'".
  • before Pushing Me Away, one of the band's technicians had to briefly come onstage to adjust Chester's wireless IEM receiver(?) attached to his belt loop, to which Chester remarked "dude, I'm so fucking sick of you Roger(?)...just sitting there staring at my ass".
  • Mike went into the crowd on the 1st chorus of In The End, and Chester went in during A Place For My Head's bridge.
  • Aaron Lewis' mic wasn't working until a few lines into his part in One Step Closer, he noticably tries to check if the mic is actually switched on.

These two shows are still incorrectly identified as Scott's last show/Phoenix's first show with the band. We still don't know EXACTLY when Phoenix returned, but we do know that he was with the band on the night of Hybrid Theory's release, as they've repeatedly told the story about driving to a music store in Seattle when they got into town the night before their show there and seeing if they'd let them in to be the first ones to buy the album. Phoenix was one of the ones telling the story in one of the interviews where they talked about it. So he must have played all the shows from 10/24 onwards, at least (unless there was some bizarre situation going on where he was traveling with the band by then but Scott was still playing the live shows). With there being 4 days between the Austin, TX show on the 14th and the Albuquerque show on the 18th, I've always suspected that's when the switch happened, but that's just my best guess.

I feel like Phoenix's first show is something that really should have been asked about at a M&G/Summit by now but nobody ever seems to think of it, lol. I'm sure he remembers where it was.

Pretty fun how that one happened after I found out what was wrong. Someone recently pointed out that it was misspelled as Conoga instead of Canoga, after that typo was fixed the show disappeared because the database query was still set to Conoga, which usually can't happened because the queries are set to the dates, so name changes don't matter but since this show doesn't have a date it's differently.

Cancelled show in November 11th, 2000?
QUESTION: Linkin park has been scheduled to be here in Norfolk, Virginia twice, and each time they have chosen to play a radio show instead. This is happening again on November 11th. I told the band when I met them in Richmond to come to Norfolk, but each chance they've had they've played somewhere else. What do you have against Norfolk?

Mike: I've never been to Norfolk but I hope to play there someday. The unfortunate thing is that when our label or our management hears of a radio event where we can play in front of a large number of people, they'll usually pull us out of a smaller show so that we can play there. It's just a coincidence that it's happened a couple times in Norfolk. We have nothing against it, we have a bunch of street teamers from there, in fact. We hope to play there at some point.

Norfolk, VA:

- K-Rock's Low Dough Show was the first one, there was a show of Kottonmouth Kings as part of the 'Riding High' tour.

- ?
- KROQ Jocks Signing Calendars was the third, there was a show of P.O.D. in Norfolk on this day as part of the 'Kings Of The Game' tour.

I just found this page here: http://eliz22.freeservers.com/custom6.html
Which lists:
November 26 Fargo Civic Auditorium- Fargo, ND

This is just one source, that doesn't verify it 100%. Also as you can see there LP wasn't part of the entire tour.

P.O.D. site. Since there's a video source for (hed)p.e this means this was (probably) a regular show on the tour. Still no source for LP there, but I thought to bump it as a reminder for research.

http://lplive.net/shows/db/2008/20080116

- The band debuted an entirely new setlist, dubbed "Set T". 'What I've Done' opened the setlist for the first time, 'A Place For My Head' was performed for the first time since 2004.09.11 São Paulo, and it was the first time since 2004 that 'One Step Closer' closed the set again.

São

Jonas found out the Fargo show didn't happen w/ POD. LP had an off day that day and the next day in Toronto, ON before the show there on the 28th. Their last show on the POD tour was the 25th.

Here's where we are at due to what Skipees and I found today:

Canceled shows that need to be added:

2000.09.20 Norfolk, VA, NorVa Theatre (yes V is capitalized) [LP later canceled & played NYC)
2000.10.01 Chicago, IL, House Of Blues [LP later canceled & played ATL; confirmed by House Of Blues announcement]
2000.11.11 Norfolk, VA, The Boathouse [LP later canceled & played Westminster)
This I am 99% sure needs to be added:
2000.09.23 Providence, RI, Lupo's Heartbreak Hotel
This was a Kottonmouth Kings show. The Norfolk and Chicago radio shows were just before and just after this, so I bet this fell under the exact same situation. Canceled later on for a radio show (KEDG's That Damn Show in Arizona).

And KEDG needs to be changed to KEDJ based on the site Skipees found for that show.
Not sure what that third Norfolk show could be. Looked at all the other radio shows in 2000 and didn't have any luck. Surely it has to be something in 2000 though....? Any thoughts?

Finally: http://web.archive.org/web/20001018204654/http://www.kottonmouthkings.com/shows.txt What are these last two shows in Tucson and Fresno?

Union Underground played in Bicentennial Park (Zetafest | Ticket), while LP played in Bayfront Park (Zeta's Bonzai Show), but I'm not sure if these two are just parts of the same event.
It is possible that there were two Zeta events on the same day, WBCN did similar thing in Boston, there were a lot of shows - Axis, TT the Bears, and Avalon (can be found on P.O.D. official tour dates as "WBCN Christmas Show") are just examples - in the same area and the same day, all of them were part of the WBCN X-Mas Rave.

Edit:

Once a year, WBCN shows its Christmas cheer by booking a whole bunch of nifty concerts on the same night and laughing at you because you can only go to one of them. Happy holidays, you sadistic bastards .... At the very least though, the WBCN Christmas Rave means there’s probably at least one show you’ll be interested in seeing tomorrow night: the spotlighted show takes place at the Orpheum and features Collective Soul, the underrated Fuel, and the overrated Dust For Life.

The best bets for my money are the Paradise Rock Club (Orgy, VAST, and 6Gig) or TT The Bear’s (The Dandy Warhols, whose live show rocks, as well as SR-71 and Good Charlotte.) Disturbed headline at Axis, accompanied by Union Underground and Linkin Park; the rap side of neo-metal rears its head at Avalon with Crazy Town, P.O.D., and the Insane Clown Posse. Other shows include the Mighty Mighty Bosstones and Seventeen at Lilli’s, C60 and Sunna at Bill’s Bar, and Rancid at the Middle East. Pick your poison.

8 events of the same station on the same day.

Edit 2:
Back to Bonzai, Zeta's Bonzai Show 2000 was in April 28th, this show happened every year on April why do we have it here on July?
All of the bands that listed in the 2000 show played in the 2001 show.

Bottom line, there wasn't Bonzai show on this date, LP wasn't played on the Zetafest on this day, the other bands on the 2000 page are the ones from 2001. This show never happened.

I noticed this in the Hollywood Bowl VyRT - COG has an extended intro. It's basically the same case as Runaway, that the sample just runs for a very extra moments until the drums kick in. Should we add it to the live guide?

EDIT: It's had it since Tuscon.

I just thought I should leave this here (first show with Chester):

Armed with new material, the band played its first show at the Whiskey, where Zomba offered them a publishing deal. With that money, Hybrid Theory purchased enough equipment to record an EP worthy of shopping to record labels and selling at shows.

Maybe somebody can find the date of this show.

Also, Relative Degree show:
