  1. If we ever get a chance to interview Mike, this would be a great question. If someone says yo there were 17 full songs, 12 on the album + NRL, WWDK, ATL, Blackbirds. What was the last one? Was it Ammosick? Then bam he will know what you mean and explain. A M&G would be a great chance to ask this too.

I'm guaranteed one in Camden, maybe I can ask.

  2. I'll pop in here with a bit more musical analysis and such, now that I've gotten in a few listens with headphones on:

-Surprised nobody noticed this, but Rob is 100% using a double bass pedal on this song. It's not in there a lot, but it shows up in the drum fill under the melodic guitar line during the intro (the guitar that mimics the vocals in the verses), and there are some double bass "gallops" under part of the outro guitar solo as well.

-Re: Chester's vocals. The amount of pitch correction used on a song like this is really hard to discern without at least having an acapella. I think a lot of people tend to forget that Auto Tune can be 100% transparent depending on how you use it. LP HAS been endorsing Antares in their album liner notes going all the way back to Hybrid Theory, after all. But the vocal sound is a lot more "dry" than most of the vocals on the last two albums. We've gotten used to hearing Chester's voice drenched in studio reverb, flangers, layered in 3 and 4-part harmonies, backed up by gang vocals, etc...with that said, I still think he sounds strained. This is the first time I've heard a studio cut from LP where Chester's voice sounded like it does during live shows. Kind of worrying to me (is his voice getting shot to the point that they can't even hide it with "studio magic" anymore?), but it ultimately doesn't detract from the song.

Also on the subject of vocals, there ARE backup vocals in this song. Each "tell us all again"/"show us all again" is doubled, as are the pre-chorus parts. There's also a harmony part that shows up in both pre-choruses and the second verse, and there are actually some gang vocal shouts on the repeated "GUILTY ALL THE SAME" lines after the second and third choruses.

-Electronics: There's plenty of Joe-ish stuff hiding in the background of this song. I definitely hear some MPC-style samples mixed in with the bed of synths that back up Rakim's verse. Not really sure where the Crawling comparison is coming from though, I don't hear it. There's also some pretty subtle scratching during the intro, it sounds almost like really staccato needle drops, creating a "tapping" noise. Also, there's a really distorted low-end synth that doubles the bass throughout most of the song, kind of reminiscent of New Divide.

Dammit. You wrote exactly what I was going to say.

    *bookmarks Astat's post, as usual*

  4. Six was perfect. Nine means I see each setlist 3 times. Different venues, different crowds, band plays differently, different cities, etc. It all plays a part of the day. At the end of the night, the setlist is just a small factor in how the event went to me.

Except Camden 2012, when you refused to let us give you details about the setlist we saw on the Summit tour backstage...?

  5. No EU for now. I hope a HT in full show is announced somewhere in the USA.

9+ shows for the whole east coast is perfect. Atlanta would be 10 and there is a four date gap there. Atlanta will get added I bet. Toronto and Montreal would make it 12. WOW. Huge tour for the USA again finally - LP just NAILED it.

Just need to know how many of you there'll be this year on the Smelly Zombie tour so I can get supplies to decontaminate all of you!

Only one show for me, but Philly/Camden shows are always the best!

  6. Almost like a Demo Compilation album :P

Can you please PM me the file links? Thanks :)

No need to PM, they're freely available, probably still archived somewhere on the forums, not sure if download links would still work. I'll have a look around sometime this week and see what I can find. In the meantime, if anyone else has that file and can upload it, it would be greatly appreciated.

  7. There's not much of an audio difference between the LPU and the Original versions of the HTEP? and wouldn't "Ground Xero" be a song title?

Just had to look it up. It was 'Game Xero', not 'Ground Xero' and it consisted of the highest quality demos we had at the time - My own Xero tape rip, HTEP (from the original, not the reissue), Now I See from the Ozzfest sampler, etc.

Gotta dig that file up again and give it a listen. Been a long time.

  8. I guess you don't know what I mean, I'm talking about the people that sell shows over websites, ebay etc.

I think it was in 2005 when Nick seed a LP demo compilation (HT EP, 2 track and 9 track I think) on Dime. I think it was the only place he ever seeded it and shortly afterwards it appeared in Japanese bootleg stores and is still for sale today.

If they are selling their own recordings that's fine but making money off of that is just not cool.

I seeded it several places - if I recall, it actually got banned from dime fairly quickly because of questions of official materials for the HTEP having been reissued by the LPU. I tried to appeal the ban but the dime mods were *shock* unwilling to listen and told me to take my torrent elsewhere.

I think I shared it on zomb thereafter.

Either way, it did make it's way to the bootleggers, I think under the release title "Ground Xero" or something like that.

Or Russians, if they happen to find a better source than Rutracker has

Actually, I don't think the Russians are all that bad, I don't see as many sources circulating from their labels, though I may not be paying attention to them as I once did.

I also seem to recall one Russian show having been scooped up by the Japanese bootleggers and sold shortly after it was shared... I don't recall the show, but it was the 'budwieser' source. Taper was quite pissed that it was for sale, even after he watermarked it.

**EDIT** St Petersburg, had to look it up.

  9. I think DIME is a great tracker for live music, cause they actually care about quality with their strict rules.

Rutracker is good too, but honestly that site is in Russian, I'd probably never post the torrent there if I can't even read the rules etc. most of the stuff ends up on rutracker eventually so don't worry.

    This.

  10. Thanks Posted Image

Any chance to upload the full broadcasted on dimeadozen or somewhere else?

If there's sufficient interest for the full broadcast, sure. The performances weren't exactly great IMO, but if people want them...

Could you PLEASE LPL rip the audio of the original file? 320 kbps mp3 would be very appreaciated! thanks.

The audio in this file is exactly the same as the original, so a rip from it should suffice.

I second that.. and on Rutracker, please?

If I do upload it, it'll be on dime.
