  1. In this interview with Seoul Journal, one of the questions was about the early days of Joe's musical career, his answer is a little bit confusing compared to what do we know or have:

SJ: Can you tell us how you got started? How did you first get into music?

Hahn: A couple years after that initial meeting, Mike had this demo tape with another guy. It was three songs under the title Xero that was the original demo for the band. The band eventually became three different bands through the course of time, and eventually became Linkin Park when Chester Bennington joined.

I guess I would've just ignored it if it wasn't for this fact: there are four tracks on the Xero tape, the credits for three of them (Reading My Eyes, Fuse and Stick N Move) are only Mike and Mark Wakefield, and one song has credit to Joe and Brad as well (Rhinestone).

Is there any minor chance that there was an earlier version of the tape or it's unlikely?

  2. Today's special isn't Pictureboard, neither is it a Projekt Revolution 2002 proshot. Today is about four fellas who collaborated very long ago and brought their unique abilities togther to create something better.

Aside from their general qualities, each of them has a special power: one of them has the abillity to lead a group of people for one cause, the second is the brain behind a lot of features, the third is very trained with using force, and the fourth one is a funny guy that always smile and makes people feel great.

No; today isn't about the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles.

Today is about the founders of the site, about how it all started, and why it's still going. As the second special for the LPLive X celebration we present you a special interview with the site's founders. We've never done a mutual interview before, so it's a bit long.

This interview will take you on a trip through the infrastructure of the site, the ideas and the moments that brought us here today, the perspectives and the feelings that are the result of 10 years of maintaining the site.

    Read it here:

And don't forget to come back here and share your thoughts. We look forward to seeing you tomorrow for day three!

  3. i just wanted to know what it's name was because there is a clip i have of Mike's whisper stems from that demo

but it i think the echo's are different http://picosong.com/Ts38/

The whisper starts here around 00:54, the channel name's is "Rares" so I guess this is yours.

While here you call it "stems" over the video description it's "Some DIY acapella samples from Linkin Park's "Crawling demo"".

So, it's not a mystery anymore which stems you've got (or haven't), one thing you sure have and that's a pretty good skills and abilities with audio editors.

You've got our attention and impressed us, the question is what's next?

  4. If you want to share it with us, there are several ways to do it, you can write something up and post it by yourself and we'll edit and move it to its appropriate place, or you can send us the files and will write and post about it, but it's all depends on what and how much stuff you've got.

  5. So these are different from the ones you said you're doing by yourself?:

I have been doing this with other bands songs and posting the links on forums just to show something you havent heard before.

I have extracted background vocals from those old demos with Mark

I'm interested to see if any of you have done the same with other songs.

By the way, creating multiple accounts is against our rules, please avoid from doing so again. If you have a problem to connect your older account you can contact us and we'll fix it out for you.

  6. They gotta get rid of some everybody-loves songs. Especially BID and ND.

Rid? no. There are a few "must have" singles that will probably stay in the setlist for a very long time (or if I'll took it more farther - as long as the band active).

Imagine your suggestion: a setlist without the recent hit singles (not talking about how much these songs are good or not, played too much or not - just based on public recognition), which means that What I've Done will be the latest song that most of the crowd knows. The last "super hit" will be from almost a decade ago.

With Hybrid Theory singles there's more room to choose because you've got 4-5 mega hits to choose from, drop Crawling and keep In The End, One Step Closer and Papercut and nobody cares. But with the recent albums, and A Thousand Suns is the best example, they don't have this "pool" of singles/songs to even rotate between.

  7. Not a question but I want to store it somewhere:

Apparently that except from the demos we knew that were on mp3.com the band uploaded My December as Linkin Park and High Voltage, Step Up and Carousel as Hybrid Theory.

  8. Regarding "Marco Polo," I've seen conflicting reports regarding Mike's involvement on that song/album. He's apparently not listed in the liner notes anywhere, but Ryu says Mike did production work on 2000 Fold in this interview, without mentioning what specific track(s) he worked on...

I guess the one thing is I made the original beat for “Marco Polo” by Styles of Beyond. But they ended up having a different producer do the one for the record.

  9. The link doesn't work.

    It says page not found

    Fixed.

    A general request:

Guys please pay attention and title the topics properly. For example:

"[DL] 2014-10-24 Los Angeles, CA, Guitar Center Sessions (ProSieben Fun HD)"

    Instead of:

"Linkin Park - Guitar Center Sessions 2014 (ProSieben Fun HD)".

It'll be easier for others to find the topic that way.

[DL/REQ] City, State, Event if needed (Format/Source)

    Thanks.

  10. So I just found Grey Daze's official webpage from around 1996... and it wasn't archived

    http://alice-bbs.com/gd/

    Source

The description says: A fresh and new alternative rock band that is taking Phoenix, Arizona by storm. Their following of dedicated fans are growing enormous as they gradually outgrow the clubs on the Phoenix circuit.

The admin's name is Keith Holler if you want to dig a little more. I actually tried to find any Grey Daze's website at the time (official or not), but the period they were active ended right before the internet became "a thing".
