  1. This is a really great record. I'm sure they'll be playing like Dystopian Girl, Stranded, and Disease...all of which I don't think have ever been played, right? Forever is my top song on the album with Maestro so it'll be good to have another Forever performance. They've really neglected the DTA album in their most recent shows.

When they say "other songs from the era" I bet they mean Dreamland and Killing Fields. Killing Fields is just epic. I wonder if Waking Up, This Machine or Everyone Knows have a shot?

I think they do, Julien-K is known for playing lesser known songs and remixes in their sets. I think if it's a DTA era exclusive show they would play those songs. Also those songs never have been performed live, which is a shame cause they're in my top 5 JK list, especially Dystopian Girl!

  2. The description of the next LPU release was leaked.

Now seriously - in general, when soundtracks and scores mostly released? With the movie or after?

Typically shortly after the movie's release. But sometimes it can take months or even a year, Doctor Who for example, has a tendency to release its soundtracks long after the new season (series) has aired.

  3. In an interview Olie mentioned Chester inspired him to sing in a more melodic way. He also said that lp was an influence of their last album.

So I'm not wondering Olie likes Chester.

Funny you mention that, my hardcore BMTH fan friend actually wondered if A Thousand Suns influenced that record. It really did sound like it had.

  4. I know it's costly to do one, but no DVD with LT really was lame. LP always produces quality DVDs for the CDs and for bands that I love, the studio stuff is really fun to see. I actually look forward to the DVD more then the physical CD on release day. Dave Matthews Band has put out some good stuff with their albums. I wish Chevelle did it. As a music fan, I love seeing songs come together. Metallica's for Death Magnetic where it went song by song was reallllly good.

Agreed man, but I think they'll put out a making of for this record if they're doing another musical direction 360, I'm sure they'd want us to be able to get some insight into the creation of that change!

  5. Brad Delson recently sat down with Music Radar to give an exclusive interview about Linkin Park's upcoming 6th record, which is as of yet untitled (though rumors are suggesting it is called The Hunting Party). In the article he says the album will be purposefully guitar driven, something that was clearly teased in 'Guilty All The Same', which featured a very progressive guitar solo outro that was new territory for the band. Highlights include Delson joking that this record is an "alternative Hybrid Theory," or even its prequel, and that more guests will be featured on the record, also a rare move for the band. He mentioned that guitar solos feel like they are "meant for every song on the album." Both Mike and Brad will be co-producing the album together, a first for Linkin Park. Enjoy!

Read the full interview here. Thoughts?

  6. Another BULLSHIT.

Why LP always do something that 0.00000000000001% (me) of their fans don't like it?

Because LP doesn't exactly exist for you dude. Alot of us LOVED ALTNC, alot of us didn't. Doesn't mean you have to bash a simple twitter update that may not mean anything more than a jam session. Side note, I'm actually really excited for more possible music between these two :D

  7. That lplive shout out made me so proud to have been a part of this site for so many years. Back in my days as LPPRJKT4 when I was still in high school I always felt so at home in this little community, thinking, damn, this is one of the coolest fan projects out there. And now it's getting mentioned on LPTV. Congrats guys, the entire staff earned that mention.

Side note: since I work as a personal trainer, a part of me died inside seeing Chester's pushups! :P

  8. I can't speak for the west side of the US but in the local music scene in New Jersey it's a very popular thing to do, especially for alot of garage punk bands that are taking over the scene rght now. I know alot of bands who put on backyard festivals from time to time (my place was even asked to be used for one once). I'm sure that HT played some backyard gigs at one point or another though. May have been during their Xero days.

  9. Is anyone else in love with the I'll Be Gone demo as much as I am? Would have made a really great blues-y track with this format. It feels like the electronics give it a night club vibe which kind of takes away a little bit of the depth of this bad boy.

  10. I'm 21 years old right and LP has been a massive part of my life since about 14 years old. Their music got me through the trials and tribulations of high school, and they still get me through certain trials and tribulations today. Personally, I prefer their newer material nowadays, (don't know how many actually care or remember), but I'm sure many have heard me voice A Thousand Suns as my favorite album of theirs. However, it's important to remember where you came from, so of course I'm never gonna forget how much HT, Meteora, and even M2M (which came out around the latter of my high school years) helped me mature into the person I am today. You may think you connect better now with one song and another song at a different time, but the point is to remember that at some point, you connected with the song, which makes that song a part of you. To quote Figure.09 "now you've become a part of me." So, every Linkin Park song is a part of me.

  11. LT wasn't really a game changer or thematic like the last two records, they weren't as focused as they were before with promoting it, and since it had a partial return to the roots theme they probably felt it was the right time to revisit the oldies we'd been begging them to play again. There's probably nothing else to it but it would be nice to hear some rarer Meteora too!

  12. Still remember that moment they broke out PMA in Rio, twas a glorious moment for LP fans worldwide lol. Summer Europe 08 encores were the best the band has ever done IMO, PMA, APFMH, CFTI, pure epicness. Good thing I was home alone when this show happened or my parents would have freaked from my fanboy screams. I was still known as LPPRJKT4 then damn, how time flies...
