On the 24th, Linkin Park plays Sydney, Australia for the first time since 2010, for their second Soundwave performance. At the last show in Brisbane, the first Soundwave show, the band played a shorter version of Set A called "Festival Set A" by dropping 'LOATR/SOTD/Iridescent' and 'The Catalyst' due to the 75 minutes time frame for their festival performance. Technical difficulties forced the band to drop 'CASTLE OF GLASS' as well. This was the second show of this Australia & New Zealand tour opening with 'TINFOIL' and 'Faint' and the third show in 2013 opening with it. Will the band play Set A again or will they premiere a shorter version of Set B with 'A Place For My Head' opening? 'A Place For My Head' wasn't played in its entirety in Australia since 2003, and since then it was only played partial over the 'Bleed It Out' bridge in 2010. LITE was on the original setlist so I wouldn't call that a replacement.

They probably would have played APFMH on a normal show. You can't squeeze in a song when you are already running late and the schedule is real tight on a festival like this. They just moved on with the set, funny that Joe gets all the blame, the band doesn't even start the songs.

Even back in the days those were just collectors items.

I guess that the show is almost over and that we'll know some more soon. You can tell from pics that I've seen on twitter that they played stuff like New Divide, Victimized and Somewhere I Belong.

I saw 4 shows with the 2009 set, it was good, but I would never call it the best set ever. The set was like 80% singles too. The only thing that made it special was New Divide and the DBS part for 2 of them. I think it sucked that they only had one set for the entire tour, the crew even had laminated mini versions of the setlists.Only minor changes made all the 4 shows a little different.

We are always wasting our time on the setlists, that's what it's all about here lol.

Because buying it overpriced on ebay is so much better The vinyl albums seem to get more rare and the prices are rising. I don't mind a re-release especially since I don't own a vinyl copy of Hybrid Theory yet. Colored vinyl + a poster is really cool.

I think Mike mentioned it on twitter a while ago that they are working on the soundtrack. That they continue with that in the bigger upcoming break is just assumption so far I think. I can see them making a soundtrack album similar what Mike did with The Raid, part instrumental for the actual score part and some real songs. Like a title song, song for the credits etc. I heard that they get back in the studio again after Japan and not continue the tour.

lol no crowd interaction to piss off the label, yeah that really shows them. And once again Warner is the root of all evil what we don't like about the band right now. And of course all that would go away once they are independent, yeah right, that's just wishful thinking. They played like half of the new album so far how is that rebellious of any kind? Playing 1 or 2 new songs only would be. Sorry but the piss of label theory doesn't make much sense to me. I'm not saying it's impossible but pissing off the fans is what they do if that was, according to the theory, on purpose. And that's not what they want.

Since there was no DVD with the Living Things Tour Edition I highly doubt we get an official DVD from the LT era. But you never know, maybe they release a show between after the LT tour and the next album. They have tons of recorded shows.

I think it's still a very solid set if you haven't seen a show of the LT our yet. I honestly would be pissed if Australia would get new songs all the sudden I won't be able to see if they don't come to Europe. That might sound selfish but that's my honest opinion, I mean seeing new stuff at shows is what keeps it exciting.

Sorry to say it like that but that is the dumbest thing I've heard in a while, of course you would go. We all would. Don't be ridiculous. I have to agree with the exaggeration. Of course this is not satisfying for us hardcore setlist-nazis (that's what we are, don't deny it). Only replacing 1 song in the set is indeed disappointing, especially since most the people who went to the show already saw it on the Honda Civic Tour. Sadly LP fails to deliver something special for special shows like this one. I'd consider a small show as special enough for a big band like them. But that doesn't mean that the entire 2013 sets will be like this, nothing is set in stone. There's probably still 2 other sets for Australia, they probably have to cut the down for Soundwave but there's still the Sidewave shows where they can play normal sets. For most of the people Castle Of Glass was a new song last night but they should have performed at least one more to make it really worth it.

There's 2 Points Of Authority videos, the not hidden one on Frat Party can be very well considered as an official music video, just like Astat said. For example I remember it being included in tv shows where they played all their regular music videos. I can also confirm that Frgt/10 was for example also on rotation on the normal music stations in Germany. Also the Faint Director's Cut with Mike spraying at the end. Dead By Sunrise - Let Down is also a radio edit and shorter.
