It seems greedy at first but if you look into how much it costs to license stock footage/archival footage, depending on the purpose of course, this seems cheap compared to that.
-
A standard song, ~3:30 minutes is around 85 MB in flac.
-
Seems like there's no repeat airing coming up soon. Whatever screwed up the pitch doesn't matter I guess, mono is far worse since that is something you can't simply fix.
Wonder why Pro7 used such a shitty audio but maybe the taper...well ''fixed'' it for reasons ??!!
EDIT:
Maybe it's because of the PAL changing. Cause the Youtube version has 23.976fps
so maybe it didn't fit so they had to screw it up...haha I don't know just a guess ^^
Maybe the copy they received was already screwed up.
PAL speedup is what probably happened here. 24fps to 25fps results in a 4% shorter video.
I assume the youtube version and this have the same content, the youtube version is 83 minutes and this 80 minutes so the 4% checks out. Someone they pitch correction didn't happen and it end up being mono,
-
You are right it's in mono, the pitch seems to be off too. it's slightly too fast overall

I think the main reason for a bad 2015 is the canceled tour. It really killed the vibe. Everyone was excited, the tour was about to hit many places they haven't been to in many years or never been at all. It started off great and then it got canceled. Nothing was happening for months. Just weird festival shows were coming up and you could tell that people were generally pissed that the tour didn't get reschueduled.
2014 started off huge, I don't think the music is to blame here.
The THP touring cycle was handled in a weird way, previous tours always had changes that made it exciting and the THP failed to do that a couple of times when it was long overdue.
What's the upside of having an extra app? I don't see any benefits while it increases the amount of workload the team has to handle.
Exactly.
That's what the mobile version is for. It would only distract us from working on real site updates.

Deliberately releasing the censored version for "music lovers" just makes so sense. There's no huge market for censored releases, especially outside the US. I bet the DVD is uncensored.
Serious question, can you actually buy a censored version on CD or digital?

I don't think we talked about this yet but "Mr. Hahns encore set" could be the intro. We have recordings from the show before Tinley Park and the next show after and they both have it. It's mostly followed by With You as opener but not always (for example the 2nd Rock im Park night had APFMH opening).
It might as well be a not serious title for the intro, I guess we'll never know.
Whatever it is, it's definitely the show intro, other 2001/2002 LP setlists that I saw have a seperation line after the Intro.

- Vancouver and Bakersfield exluced from Countdown to Revolution Tour 2001
- 2001.04.22: Fixed other bands order
- 2001.09.28: Fixed other bands
-
It's a really weird tour. The tour name can't be found on any of the tickets.
Fact is the real countdown to revolution tour kicked off in Kansas City, support bands and production wise.
According to itinerary they spent 4 days in Kansas for all the rehearsals that usually happen with the beginning of the tour. That's why there's almost a week between Bakersfield and Kansas City.
It makes sense to me to announce the two shows along with the others, if they are technically part of it or not.
I'd say we exclude the 2 shows from the tour.
-
Maybe but not sure if those 2 tracks is the acoustic version.
There's no way the other two songs are acoustic too. Rebellion! come on...
Also it says Acoustic for Final Masquerade and not for the other ones, that makes it clear enough.
Also the acoustic performance at Machine Shop HQ and the recording have nothing to do with each other. The released acoustic version was recorded in a studio.
My point was simply that the CD is related to the event, not the recording.
-
Maybe that CD was part of their performance at Machine Shop HQ on the same date, and they gave copies to the staff or something like that.
-
Yup, Mark is a huge fan of STPwC
probably this is their last show ever must be meaningful for Hahn
Ok we get it, you don't like them.
I'd totally go and see the show too if it wasn't so far away. Sucks that they never toured in Europe.
-
Both owners are credited on the wiki pages that are linked in the first paragraph.
-
We renumbered the following tours:
2000 Union Underground
2000 Kottonmouth Kings
2001 Street Soldiers
2001 Europe Headline
2004 North America
2004 International shows
2011 North America
+ fixed several broken next/prev links caused by deleted shows.

Official material is not allowed, thread closed.

Awesome, thanks! I was waiting for this.
I think you should spend those 30 seconds and name the files properly when you share it with the world...
You can even rename them in mega directly.
BTW the flacs are in 24bit / 96kHz, that's also mentioned nowhere.
-
$hit, that's the 11/10/00 show I went to where they opened up for POD. message me!
A DVD transfer of the master tape was shared here previously. http://lplive.net/forum/?showtopic=11384
Moving this thread to live talk....

Oh that's right, I didn't check it all but unfortunately that doesn't really help with our problem. We don't know how accurate this info is. It doesn't make much sense to me that they performed In The End again when they could just use the old performance. Also they squeezed this in between 5 full shows.
-
I don't think it would have aired the day after the taping anyway.
That's the one http://www.tv.com/shows/top-of-the-pops-uk/26th-october-2001-360562/
It has In The End (repeat)
-
yeah great find but it doesn't prove that the taping or performance actually happened.
EDIT:
They are listed to appear in this episode:
http://web.archive.org/web/20011021222440/http://www.bbc.co.uk/totp/lineup/index.shtml
but it doesn't say if it's a new performance or the old one
Nothing new here either:

Crawling says April 2001
-
Interesting observation, originally the TOTP performance date in pre-LPL guides was September.
But fact is that the 3 videos that we know: Papercut, Crawling and In The End are from March 2001. Chesters hair confirms that too.
If they played it in September again, we know nothing about it. They already played all their big singles in March.
Unfortunately itineraries are never a confirmation that something actually happened though.
But it's definitely worth investigation, also because that's a time period that was covered by way more fan sites than early 2001.
EDIT: Upon giving it some thought my best guess is that it was probably canceled by either the BBC or the band. It was just 2 days after 9/11, the Maida Vale show the next show barely happened. Maybe they couldn't make it due to travel restrictions, who knows.
If it happened we'd know about it, there would be at least photos of the performance.
-
Even though there's no recording of the show in question to actually confirm that "Mellow Interlude" and "Be Yourself" are indeed the same piece of music? Okay then.
Exactly, useless we'll get a recording of that show (which is highly unlikely at this point) or a setlist pic from rock am ring/rock im park 2001 we'll never be able to confirm it, that's why it will stay a hypothesis.
That's why I disagreed on adding "In Yourself" to the actual setlist on that page.

"Lockout" Performance Date

This is the full episode. Lockout was a webseries. No one is watching a 30 minute segment on an unknown band.
